"Are those people new arrivals to the base? Why are they living outside the city in cars or tents? Are there no free vacancies inside the city?" Su Chang asked people inside the car he was placed in.

The front truck was used by Chu Lixue, Chu Lili, Mu Ruqin, Ren Ming and Lin Qiao. Basically, all woman. In the car following behind them, Zhao Yun, Hu Wei and Su Chang were put together. While Zhao Yun's little vinegar jar almost flipped when he saw his girlfriend sticking together with Chu Lixue, at the end of the day he let the matter rest.

They were both woman, and Chu Lixue even had a daughter. She shouldn't be interested in Lin Qiao, right? Seeking opinions fast!

"I don't think that's the case. Whenever the base needs more place for development of simply housing for new people, they would simply reclaim another part of the city. I don't think the Central District is even half used now, let alone missing place for new people..." Hu Wei felt pretty confused thinking about it.

"Didn't you know that a few days ago someone came in infected with the zombie virus? After some time when he turned into a zombie himself, he ended up biting a few more people in the Residential District. It was quite a big commotion over there..."

Su Chang looked confusedly at their group's new member. After all, everyone lived together on the same floor, how could he not know about the news?

"I know? What does that have to do with this?" Since he was confused, he might as well just ask.

"It's pretty closely related! Now everyone wanting to enter the base, no matter if its rescued people or those returning from doing tasks outside, they need to be observed for at least half a day in the tent area. Those with open wounds are observed for 24 hours. All in order to avoid the virus." Zhao Yun explained, looking at Chubby from the steering wheel.

Seeing slight contempt in his eyes, Su Chang said, "Ah, yes, that's just natural, you could have said so earlier. I know already."

Honestly, it wasn't weird that Su Chang wouldn't know these kinds of things. After all, even if he knew about zombies, he didn't know much about them. Asking him to think about it from the base's perspective? Yeah, not really possible.

Also, truly the only reason why Zhao Yun knew this was because of his connections with the military. Even though he was no longer part of military, he did spend a few years inside it. Even if he didn't have a high position, at the very least he still had some friends willing to tell him some things about the base here and there.

Chu Lixue and the others sat in their small, military-like truck and did not drive on their own. Though Chu Lixue had a car, and had learned how to drive in her previous life, she honestly had no idea how to maneuver with a large truck. It was simply too big, the way it moved was completely different from a normal civilian car. She was afraid that she would hit something on her first corner.

Zhao Yun had experience with trucks like these form his military days, so he drove the second truck. This one however, surprisingly, was being driven by his lover. Turned out her family used to own a truck used on their farm. While the two couldn't really compare to each other, at the very least she knew how to pilot it.

This time, as previously discussed, their group decided on taking a task focusing on bringing back resources. After looking for half a day Chu Lixue managed to find something that was perfect with their intentions. Their task was to bring back solar energy panels, so it was basically something that she intended to do anyway.

After all, her house only had a few of them. She still needed more of them, not to mention they also needed to equip them on their group's three other apartments. Since they already needed them, they simply decided to pick some more for the base.

The solar energy panels were produced before the Apocalypse by a company called ePower. Most of their fabrics were in the areas around City S, but they did have a warehouse south-east from City A. Before the Apocalypse, in the south-east region right next to City A, a lot of companies had their warehouses built there. Thanks to this, Chu Lixue and her group could go through a few of them and select other needed things as well.

While they obviously needed food, which perhaps they could also find in that neighborhood, their biggest concern for now was to find materials to rebuild their apartments and cars. The perfect situation would be to find a lot of iron or other metals, so that Hu Wei could in future use them to strengthen their homes defenses and most importantly, trucks.

Even through their trucks could basically pass of as military-grade, so they already were stronger than normal cars, Chu Lixue still feared that it wasn't enough. After all, zombies were slowly getting stronger. If they were unlucky and got themselves near a zombie with some abilities, their trucks most probably wouldn't be enough as of now. Not to mention a simple strength type zombie, even a fire or lightning one could most likely destroy their cars. Once that happened, who knows if they could manage to safely come back to the base.

Chu Lixue most likely could, but now she had to think about her daughter and her group's members.
