The trip out of the city was very smooth, hardly a shadow of a zombie all the way to their destination. After all, before the Apocalypse, this area was one of the biggest zones for A City's companies to build warehouses and other company's facilities, aside from the one directly inside the city.

A few months already passed since the beginning of the Apocalypse. Besides the military, a few other groups of survivors must have already passed by here.

Chu Lixue looked at the dark blood and long dead, rotten remains of dogs and felt nauseous. It looked like no one had come to the place for a few days at least.

"Don't look for now, Lili. Mommy will tell you when to open your eyes." Chu Lixue kept her hand on her daughter's eyes, making sure she didn't have to see this bloody sight. Although it wasn't possible to completely protect Chu Lili from the Apocalyptic world, she still wanted to try to do it for as long as she could.

Then again, the troops mainly rescued the trapped masses and some important people. Recently, the only groups going outside in search of resources are groups made of survivors. In the safe zone, most people were tasked with constructing the wall. Even when going out to search for supplies, most groups would simply decide to look for food. Who in the world would search food in the middle of an industrial district?

Also, it's not like the groups coming here would clean up after themselves. After thinking of it for a little, it didn't look as bad as before.

"How long till we get there?" Mu Ruqin asked. She was sitting next to Chu Lixue and her daughter, so she saw their reaction from the beginning and decided to try and keep their minds busy. At least they wouldn't bother themselves with useless things.

Lin Qiao as the driver was the one that knew the answer to that question.

"I think we need another 10 minutes. The place we're going to is at the very end of this district."

Seeing that Lin Qiao misunderstood and was about to speed up, trying to get us to our destination faster, Chu Lixue explained. "It's alright, don't speed up too much. Our trucks are pretty solid and can carry a lot of material, but the downside to them is their loudness. If we speed too much, with all the noise coming from it, who knows if we don't attract some trouble for ourselves."

"Shouldn't it be pretty safe? We haven't seen many zombies in this area..." Ren Ming asked.

"That's what scares me a little. Who knows if suddenly a group won't come out from one of the buildings near, or some loner zombie with a ability wouldn't suddenly focus on us... Also, there could be other groups of humans here...."

"Mommy, what's wrong with other people being here?" Chu Lili asked after managing to emerge herself from her mother's hands.

"Nothing's wrong sweetie. It's just that we don't know them, so who knows if they won't want to steal our sweet little Lili from us?" Chu Lixue reached out and started to tickle Chu Lili, making sure her daughter dropped the topic.

After all she didn't want to explain to her the darkness in some people's hearts. If they saw another group, the best outcome would be for both their groups to ignore each other.

However, what would happen if they encountered a group with some sc.u.mbags? Even through recently the military was enforcing their new laws inside the base, outside however, everyone did what they wanted. It was a paradise for criminals.

And even if they managed to come by a group of people that at least from the outside didn't look like they wanted to make any trouble, what would happen if they came for the same things?

If they happened upon decent people, they would probably just split the spoils in half and get it over with. But if the other group was greedy, it probably wouldn't end without a fight. Even through Chu Lixue was pretty confident in her group's abilities, she still believed that there is always a mountain above you.

Who knows if they wouldn't have bad luck and lose out in comparison to their opponents?

While little Lili wouldn't understand Chu Lixue's meaning, it didn't mean that other people inside the car were the same. After hearing what she said, everyone soon understood her concerns. They couldn't help but turn a little more serious. Perhaps their quiet trip so far left them a little too relaxed.

"Guys, be careful from now on. Keep your eyes open on the buildings around us." Ren Ming decided to remind the guys inside the other truck to be a little more vigilant.

And very soon an answer came from the radio. "Did you notice something wrong? Is everything alright Qiao Qiao?"

Ren Ming didn't know whenever she should laugh or cry. Here they are, trying to focus as much as possible, while these two lovebirds give them a show of public display of affection.

Seeing Sister Ren's bitter face, Lin Qiao blushed a little and quickly said, "Who is your Qiao Qiao! Just focus on driving and don't make any trouble!"

"Alright, everyone should stop messing around. We'll soon reach ePower's warehouse. Get prepared." Mu Ruqin decided to simply kill off their conversation, looking as serious as ever. Inside her mind however, she was crying out loud that she also wanted to find herself a boyfriend! Let them single doggs off, alright?
