The Villainess 'Simple' Life

Back to the Present:

Lyra didn't really care about their opinion. But if they trash her on the stage then she would give them a fright. After all, if they say something bad about her then they would also affect the Duke's household. Lyra just sat back and observed them from the back thinking about how much power she should use against each person.

As Lyra was observing, she noticed that the heroine kept looking at multiple different men. 'I thought she was aiming for the prince only? Guess she's going to choose the harem route from the way she's looking at them.' Lyra couldn't care less about what happens to Ava.

"Attention! In a few minutes, we shall start the battle. Please get ready!" After a soldier said that, he walked away.

This year's competition was different from the other years. This year, the main focus is strength only. So sadly, there won't be anything on knowledge.

Stage of the Battle:

After the king finished his speech, the battle started. Lyra wasn't going up until later on, so she sat down and observed.

"Ava Mackey against Leon Smith."

'Wow, the protagonist is up first, what a show.'

Ava and Leon started fighting and in the end, Ava won.

It took a while before it was Lyra's turn.

"Lyra Ainsworth Clarke against Ava Mackey."

As Lyra and Ava started making their way up the stairs, Lyra realize that someone was looking at her with a hostile look. When she looked over to see who, she saw that it was Ava Mackey.

Lyra didn't say anything and just look at the soldier.

"Battle!"

Lyra didn't do anything and just waited for Ava to attack first. Ava started using her water magic and starting shooting water arrows at Lyra. 'Wow, she's aggressive.' Lyra dodge the arrows and kept waiting for Ava to attack her again.

After a while, the audience can see that Ava was tired from using her magic while Lyra was just fine. 'I'll be nice and just give her a little help.' Lyra started using her fire magic and started doing the same thing that Ava did to her. She started shooting fire arrows at Ava, the arrows were too quick so Ava wasn't able to dodge it. She got injured but she didn't yield.

She kept trying and trying to dodge Lyra's arrows. 'This is boring.'

After a while, Lyra just started making her arrows sharper and faster. And in just a minute, Ava was defeated.

"Lyra Clarke Ainsworth is the winner of this battle!" The soldier announce the result of the battle and of course, Lyra won.

"P.l.e.a.s.u.r.e meeting you, Ava Mackey." After saying that, Lyra left the stage.

Lyra walked back to her seat and saw her mother and father proud smile from their private room. Lyra didn't say anything and just smiled back at them.

The competition kept going until it was Lyra's turn again. This time, she was against someone from her guild that she recruited.

"A p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to battle you, Miss Lyra."

This guy was one of the strongest in the guild. His name is Jack Roberts. He's the son of a distinguished family just like Lyra but Lyra's family is more powerful because of their connections to royalty. Lyra recruited Jack because of connections and talents. He has 3 magical powers which are thunder, water, and earth. thunder is a rare type of power. Not many people have it so that's why Jack is regarded as one of the strongest youngster within their generation.

"Likewise Jack."

"Battle!"

This time, Lyra didn't wait for the opponent to make the first move. She first came closely to Jack before she gathered her fire magic into her right fist then she aimed it at Jack's stomach. Jack barely had any time to dodge because the attack came so suddenly. Thankfully, he was able to dodge it by a second.

Lyra: "Nice Jack."

Jack: "Thank you, but you and I both know that your holding back your power."

Lyra: "What do you mean? I'm going all out. Come on Jack, just use all of your power. Think of this as practice."

Jack didn't hold back his power any longer, he used his thunder power to trap Lyra inside it. He followed it up with rocks topping itself on Lyra so she couldn't move. Then he used his water power to surround the outside of the thunder just in case, she escaped.

"Wow, Sir Jack is strong. I don't think Miss Lyra is able to win this battle."

"Even though Miss Lyra has 6 magical powers, Sir Jack has better control over his."

"People say that the more powers you have, the better. But that is untrue. Having more powers means it's harder to control them."

Back on the stage, Jack knew that he hasn't defeated Lyra yet.

"This battle was fun." After Lyra said that, she destroyed the cage around her with her b.a.r.e fist and teleported to Jack.

"Unfortunately, you lost." Jack wasn't able to react at all. Lyra used her fire magic to punch at Jack's stomach. This time, he couldn't dodge it. Jack could be seen almost flying off the stage. He was coughing off blood.

But still, Jack didn't admit defeat.

The only way for the battle to end is when one of them admits defeat or when one person gets thrown out of the stage.

"This is why I recruited you. Even though, you know I'm stronger than you, you still won't give up."

"But you should also use your brain when fighting. At least, try to trick me or ambush me from behind. Don't always try to fight from the front. Not everyone will go easy on you like me." Lyra said this with an happy face yet her tone was empty.

Lyra started using water magic. She lifted her left hand to control the direction of her magic. She aimed it right at Jack. She used her water magic to wrap itself around Jack. She then started to put pressure on the rope to make sure that he couldn't escape. "Are you willing to admit defeat?"

"No."

'Tsk, stubborn little kid.'

"You leave me no choice then."

With her water magic, she threw Jack off the stage.

"Lyra Clarke Ainsworth won!"

This victory was able to stun the whole audience.

"Miss Lyra is so strong!"

"I admire to become like her!"

The whole stadium was now praising Lyra and the Ainsworth's household.
