The Villainess 'Simple' Life

She was reading her book while in her thoughts when she saw a paper stuck in the book. Taking the paper out, she saw it was something else about magic.

Magic is a very common thing in this world. Almost everyone in the continent have magic within them, some have a lot, some have a little, but regardless everyone has a bit. But there are exceptions, some people who have no magic whatsoever. Those people are called, 'broken'.

Lyra was reading up to that part when she realized that the rest of the information wasn't there. It looks like someone ripped the paper into two. She knew that there were indeed people who have no magic, those people live somewhere else compared to the rest who has magic within them. She heard some rumors in her past life about how they have superhuman strength, in order to make up for not having magic. It was different from magic's strength, even though strength was one of the abilities that a person can have, 'Broken' people strength were beyond that.

She went back to the place where she got the book from and tried to look for the missing paper but she couldn't find it. 'Such a pity, I could've gathered some useful information.' With a sigh, she kept looking around to look for more books that could possibly help her.

She kept looking around but none of them were interesting enough. Looking through the section one more time, she found a book that caught her eyes.

Reading through the book, she was shocked by what it says. 'What is a book like this doing in the Royal Library.' Even though the book was a bit dusty since it was all the way in the back, the book held information on the origins of the crystal stone.

It says that the materials of the crystal stone come from the Ischyrós Empire.

'That isn't really a secret, everyone knows that.' Lyra thought that the book was going to contain some sort of secret but it was all basic stuff. Casually flipping through the pages, Lyra came upon something else.

There's a way to manipulate the images on the crystal stone but it requires some materials that are only found in the Ischyrós Empire. A piece of crystal ice and a bracelet containing the ability or abilities the person wants to show. The first one will be somewhat hard to get but she could still get it. But the second one was a bit... too hard. Pondering about what to do for the second material, she couldn't come up with anything.

'I'll just ask the butler to tell me if there's an auction coming up in the Ischyrós Empire, maybe a bracelet might appear.'

Looking around and seeing that no one was near her, she decided to rip the page and hide it somewhere on her outfit then proceeded to put the book back in its original spot. Lyra went back to the table and saw that they were all concentrating on their book. Smiling a bit, she decided not to disturb them and went outside to where the beautiful tree used to be.

'A new tree has replaced it.' Sitting down on a bench near the tree, she thought about her past life once again. Even though she has been reborn, she still can't help but remember the bitterness of the past. She wants revenge but remembering the voice that reminded her not to live for revenge, she decided against it.

Lyra promised herself that she would give the crown prince and that white lotus a second chance, just like how the voice gave her a second chance. She isn't a generous person or anything, it's just that she wants to live a simple life this time, her past life was too complicated. But if the prince and heroine plot against her, she will get her revenge.

Thinking of the two of them, two paper dolls appeared in her hand. It had the images of the crown prince and the heroine, using her mana in the form of fire, she destroyed the two paper dolls.

Yes, Lyra could use magic even though she was only 5-years-old. Children usually awake their powers at the age of eight but Lyra awakens her powers three years prior to that.

She didn't find it strange since she knew the reason why she could use it, it was because of the voice. The voice said that it had a gift for her and at that time, she felt a gust of wind inside her body. Connecting the dots, it was easy to find out the reason why. To be honest, at first, she was shocked since it was different from her past life but she soon came to accept the truth. 'This time, instead of my abilities being a curse to my family, it will be a gift.' Of course, her family didn't know about her abilities, she didn't want them to worry.

Sensing that someone was approaching her, she put on a ladylike and childish smile. "Hello, Miss Lyra." A voice said behind her. Hearing that voice, her whole body turned cold, a sense of hatred pass through her once again. Trying to control herself, she greeted him back.

"Greetings, Crown Prince." Even though her smile was a bit stiff, the person in front of her didn't notice anything wrong. "What are you doing here by yourself?" He asked with a bit concern in his voice. .

'In the past, I would long for his care but now, it makes me disgusted.' Everyone says that the Crown Prince will grow up to be a magnificent ruler that will care for his citizens. He's caring and kind to everybody, never being mean to anyone below him. But only the people close to him and Lyra knows that it's all a facade. She actually fell for it in her past life. 'How laughable.'

Wanting to know why he's here, she looked into his mind. [What is she doing here all by herself. But this could be in my favor.]

Sneering at the prince in her heart, she thought about how she was so stupid in her past life to believe that the prince loved her. But none of it showed on her face, she still had a ladylike smile on her face.. Like him, she also has a facade that she shows to strangers.
