The Time When Me And My Family Went To Other World

After hugging excited each other, the two Elders were looking at us strangely.

"Was it such a great thing to be able to have a almost torn down house?" asked Kavko intrigued "It's yours to take care of but everything you produce for the first year, aside from the basic for you guys survival, will belong to us and after that the town hall will take only one third of it"

"We still are very grateful! From where we came from even if you pooled all your capital through a whole year we still wouldn't be able to afford a house, since it was so expensive, the terrain and building" I said reminiscing the market for houses was horrible.

"Yes, it was terrifying..." said Nordya.

"Well, kids, take a look at it, we are going to call Metania and Jivs over here so they help you two clean this place up! Some rat might have mutated inside, although unlikely." said elder Brontus "I am calling them over don't open anything yet, all right?"

After sometime that felt like ten to twenty minutes all three of them arrive, Jivs and Metania on their Patrol Uniform, following the Elder Brontus to this place.

"Ok, now you two will help the kids here clean this place up, your reward will be a lunch and dinner at Granny Rir house, got it?" Elder Brontus asks excited.

"Yes, sir!" they yell loudly.

The house had gray wood on the outside, had a front door only, so I went to the knob and asked "Ready?" both nodded and pulled it wide open with all my strength.

Here it was full of things we didn't know we would need or even if they were salvageable at all...

"Well kids, take everything you guys don't need out and start cleaning it today!" said Elder Kavko waving a goodbye to us.

We start to take things out, there are many broken down chairs and tables here, some broken lances and spears too.

"This place was used as warehouse for the trash over the years, it simply got overfilled with all kinds of crap, but maybe the original things are still over here somewhere?" said Metania after some time in the work.

Nordya seemed like she would collapse very soon, so I looked at the two of then and asked "Can we take a break and drink some water here?"

They looked at us and nodded after some time.

"Yes, it has been over one hour anyways" said Jivs looking more tired than yesterday.

"Since it's decided I will fill some waterbags and give it to you guys, since Guido made some extra for the Patrol Team." said Metania.

She flies to the Outpost of the Patrol team close to the magic barrier which made the village invisible the first time we came and then flew to the lake, filling the waterbags.

After drinking a load of water I thank she for the help.

"Thanks Metania, it must be hard to fill all of these and bring here while flying." I said.

"Yeah, you got amazing wings there, heehee.. " giggles Nordya.

"That's all part of the daily training anyway, no big deal." she answers while brushing it off.

"Yeah, Captain Vermont makes us do drills while helping around at the same time." said Jivs "Sometimes it is fun, sometimes it is hell, like when he makes us two fight Old Man Hyugin is terrifying..." he said while looking worried about it.

"No more, dilly-dallying now, back to work we go." said Metania.

"Honey, take it easy okay? Help me separate the spears and lances heads from the shaft, okay?" I said giving her the easiest work to her.

After cleaning everything there is nothing more in the reception room, we move to the next room, there is more junk.

We keep cleaning till lunch, after that we went to Granny Rir house to have lunch, she was there with Grandpa Doh, Master Hyu was nowhere to be seen.

"Papa is having a spar with Captain today, they are probably going to eat in the Outpost" explain Granny Rir "Come eat Metania, Jivs and kids"

We all sat down with the Elders and enjoyed a full meal with sausages, eggs, a bird, some rice and black beans, there were a jar of red juice, it tasted like acerola sweet and sour, yummy!

After a little while of resting and dozing off a little bit for the after lunch and then we went back to the declutter of the house to keep working.

When we got there, we kept throwing broken tables, spears and lances... I was starting to get worried about the village situation, so I decided to ask about it.

"Look, we are getting a ton of broken spears, lances and tables out of this house, is there something happening in the village? Should we know about something?" I asked anxious and apprehensive about our situation in this place.

"Hummmm.... It's a bit tricky and complicated to explain..." said Metania struggling with something on her mind "But I shall try anyways, kids! Now, now listen well cause I have a story to tell!" She says with a big sis like way of 'Just leave it to me!' "There is sometimes when some of the the moons align which makes some of the Mana in the world surges and gush out! Everything has Mana in it, the air, water and earth, it makes Magic possible, it's a gift from Lucipher, the God of Chaos, and... sometimes" she says with a scary tone "It's a curse! One month after it happens, there will be a mutated beast stampede, since when any of the fauna overflow with Mana they transform into something else and go bezerk! They start running everywhere, trying to eat everything they can like they are getting an unsatisfiable hunger and devour everything! Then for everybody safety, we garrison everybody who can't fight with spears and tables on the Outpost, so they can poke what tries to come in from a safe distance and those that fight go around slaughtering the fauna that comes through the invisibility barrier, not everything gets through, but we have to get rid of those so we don't lose everything."

"Yeah, and they are a great way to find materials and food and other things after we dismantle them, like seeds which make enough for someone to eat for a year! Good quality stuff too!" said Jivs with sparkling eyes "Even a good farmer can even double the yield, even though they only last for one harvest..." he said dejected about the food that he didn't get to have.

"Great, so when can Amatiron start to learn from him, he sounds like someone that knows a lot." Nordya said while she almost smacked her head while trying to separate the spears head from a broken handle. Careful there, honey...

"Actually, he passed away... Quite some years ago..." said Jivs even more depressed now "This was his house... And his field too... So thrashed by the elements..."

"So did he die in the stampede or some beast?" Nordya asks anxious.

"No, he died of old age, we don't have a casualty for the stampedes about four hundred years." said Jivs.

I feel so relieved to hear about the spears and the tables... Wow... Damn...Wished to have one more teacher, about the farming profession, it would be amazing, but nothing to do about it... But look at that we finished decluttering the house, there is a kitchen, three rooms and a living room and a hallway mudroom combo, really functional and not so big at all, we cleaned it and all that was missing is just some things for us to live in.

So glad that we have a functional place to live and it is clean!

"I should thank both of you for your help and cleaning everything, even if I have nothing to give you guys now, if you need anything someday I sure will help you back, even if it is just listening to you guys troubles." I said "I am really bad at owing people favors and things, what this village is doing for us is way more than just a little work can pay for it, I am really bad at this, sorry..." I said happily embarrassed about all of this "Because you don't offer something this size to people you don't know or have ever seen before, like housing and food and work, ya know, you just don't..." I was starting to tear up with my wife " This is way more than we ever deserved..."

"Yes, we know that, kiddos, but because you are kiddos, we are helping you guys till you can stand up for yourselves and make us proud" say Metania with a large smile.

"Now let's get some of Granny Rir's cooking, it's gonna be amazing!" said Jivs all smiles.

We had dinner with the whole family and Captain Vermont too, it was really noisy, Granny lent us a matress so we could sleep on the floor of the new house, so off we go to a new start on this village in another world.
