The Master of Strength

The three of them arrived at Ga Dogu’s house in order to hand in the quest. They opened the door and walked in.

Creaak!

“Oh, Come on in!”

“Hello! how are you?”

The village chief appeared pleased to see them.

“I’ve brought the ingredients you wanted!”

“Oh, truly?”

Walcha went first and handed over the materials.

“Please wait one moment.”

After receiving the quest items, he went into the back room and returned with a sparkly elixir which he handed over to Walcha with a beaming smile.

“Here you go!”

Having completed the quest, he stepped back and allowed Luna to likewise hand hers in. Ga Dogu once again went to the back room and returned with an elixir which he gave to Luna. After which it was Myeonghu’s turn to do the same.

“Here you go.”

“Please wait a moment.”

Ga Dogu performed the exact same actions as he handed Myeonghu the elixir.

Myeonghu checked its properties immediately after receiving it.

‘Ten times and then it just becomes a regular mana potion.’

The effect of increases ones mana pool only worked the first 10 times. Starting with the 11th elixir it would just act as a regular mana potion and restore 5,000 Mana. Myeonghu looked at Walcha and Luna as he placed the potion in his bag.

“Are there any more ingredients that you need?”

“Yes! Many!”

Walcha was activating the quest once more, while Luna watched from the side.

“I’d like for you to get me 50 Rabbit Livers, 50 Wolf Paws, 50 Bear Gallbladders and 10 Red Wolf Livers.”

‘Huh?’

Hearing the requested materials Myeonghu was instantly confused. They had somehow changed.

“Okay, I’ll get them for you.”

“Thank you!”

Upon receiving the quest, Walcha shared the quest with Luna, then looked to Myeonghu.

“What do you want to do? I got a C this time around. Do you want join us or do your own?”

“…?”

Hearing Walcha’s question he couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. Got a C? Just what did that even mean?

“Ah! I see you might not know since this is your first time.”

It was indeed true that Myeonghu felt ashamed at his ignorance.

“There are several kinds of Quest materials, each with their own rewards. We just finished the type A, which results in Mana Enhancement Potion that boost your Mana pool.”

“Ah…”

He was kicking himself for not noticing the fact that the Title was ‘Ga Dogu’s Experiment Material A’. Myeonghu looked in his inventory, there were still a lot of Bear Gallbladders, Great Fox King Inner Cores, Aqua Wolff Livers. He suddenly felt quite down.

‘Wait… then the reward was different?’

Myeonghu decided to clarify it with Walcha.

“What is the compensation for the C one?”

“It’s my first time doing this C, but by the looks of it it’s related to an Agility boost.

“…!”

After listening to Walcha he couldn’t help but be surprised. If it was related to Agility, it might be just like the pills he had received from ‘Tilto’s Craftsmanship 1’ which increased his Agility by 10.

Myeonghu looked at Ga Dogu and then back at Walcha.

“Can I still share the quest even if I get something besides the C?”

“Haha, it wont work. I’ve tried it before with Luna, but it won’t let you share with someone who has an alternate version of the quest. I received a system message saying it was impossible.”

“Oh, I see.”

‘I guess I’ll just have to keep refusing until I receive a quest I want.’

Although he was disappointed at first, he quickly thought up of this trick of declining quests until he could choose his own.

“Oh and one more thing! I you refuse a quest, you won’t be able to take another for the duration of one in game day.”

Luckily Walcha specified this point just in time, as I was about to implement my strategy.

“What will you do?”

Myeonghu had a decision to make, he could share in the quest and gain something related to Agility or gamble with an unknown.

‘Still…’

Agility was nice and all, but he was still hoping to receive the same quest once more.

“I’ll try once.”

“Alright, I hope you get a good once!”

Myeonghu look to the Chief and spoke up.

“Chief.”

“Yes, what is it?”

“Are there any more ingredients you need for your experiments?”

“Oh, lots more! In fact there are some things I need right now!”

Myeonghu gulped as he waited expectantly.

“Could you bring me 50 Bear Gallbladder, 10 Inner Cores of the Great Fox King and 5 Aqua Wolf Livers?”

He was stunned, and then a smile slowly began to form on his face as he nodded back excitedly and replied.

“Yes!”

As soon as he received the message, he proceeded to take out the materials which he already happened to have in his possession.

“Here you are.”

“Oh? That was fast!”

Ga Dogu stared at the ingredients with a surprised expression, before looking back up at Myeonghu.

“Wait here one moment.”

He entered his back room to retrieve the potion reward. After Ga Dogu was gone, Walcha asked.

“Did you have enough to hand it in twice?”

“Yes, I thought that the repeatable quest would always ask for the same ingredients, so I prepared double the amount.

“Haha, sorry I didn’t think about mentioning it.”

“Not at all, it worked out didn’t’t it? Plus without you I wouldn’t even have known there was such a quest.

Ga Dogu returned and handed me the elixir.

“Thank you”

After taking it and placing it in his inventory, he asked the village chief.

“Are there any other materials you need?”

“Oh, would you truly help me out once more?”

“Yes, just name them.”

“I need 50 Aqua Wolf Livers and 20 Red blood of the Giant Wolf, is it fine?”

‘Red Blood of Giant Wolf?’

He couldn’t help but notice the strange ingredient. The Aqua Wolf Liver wouldn’t be a problem since he already knew how to get them, but he had no idea where to even find a Giant Wolf.

‘Could a Giant Wolf be the equivalent of a Monstrous Fox?’

He thought it might just be a really large common wolf.

‘Oh, right!’

He suddenly remembered the time he had been chased by that Monstrous Fox for the first time.

‘At that time…’

While running away, he had arrived in the Wolves’ area and encountered a huge wolf which eventually faced off against the fox.

‘Could it be connected to him?’

It was just a hunch, but he had a good feeling about it.

“What do you think, will you be able to do this for me?”

“Oh, yes of course, I’ll help you out.”

[Quest Accepted]

‘I can’t refuse since it includes 2 Stamina Elixirs.’

Although he was worried about finding the Giant Wolves , he simply couldn’t turn down request. After accepting the quest, Myeonghu walked out along with Walcha and Luna.

“Our Quest materials are completely different this time!”

“I know, right.”

There were no common ingredients that we could hunt for together.

“Alright, then if you need a hand later on just ask!”

“Okay, have fun!”

Walcha and Luna left the village to complete their quest, while Myeonghu stuck around. He still had one more quest to hand in.

“Just what will you give me this time?”

The reward was still marked as a ? on the Quest info.

“Since it’s a chain quest the reward should at the very least be better than the last one.”

Normally the rewards in a chain quest would only get better the further along you went. For ‘Tilto’s Craftsmanship 1’ he received 3 Agility Pills, so he was really looking forward to this time’s reward.

“Hello”

Tilto simply nodded back and Myeonghu walked towards him, and then placed the Steel Tails and Aqua Wolf Fangs on the counter.

“I brought what you requested.”

“… Oh oh”

As soon as he had placed them on the counter, Tilto began to admire the Steel Tails and Fangs.

“Thank you, please wait here one moment.”

Tilto returned holding the same box he had last time around during ‘Tilto’s Craftsmanship 1’

“Please accept this humble gift.”

He placed it on the counter and opened up the lid. After peering inside, Myeonghu couldn’t contain his excitement as a large smile formed on his face. There were 5 of the same Agility Pills he had received last time.

After placing them in his inventory, Tilto let out a sigh before asking.

“Could you do me another favor?”

Myeonhu had been planning on staying until he received the next step in the quest, so he nodded back immediately.

“Yes of course.”

“Do you know about the Giant Wolves?”

“… Giant Wolves?”
