The Master of Strength

“Just where are you hiding?”

Myeonghu shouted at towards the sky helplessly. Despite having searched for so long, there was no sign of that Great Fox King. His gaze focused on the regular foxes roaming nearby.

“Where is your king?”

He shouted at them. Naturally he never expected them to respond, so he just approached them a swung out with his fist.

Bang!

The fox collapsed, leaving behind some items. His gaze then turned to a Large Fox this time which was prowling nearby and brought his fist down upon it.

Bang!

Large Fox also succumbed to a single blow, also dropping some items on the ground.

“I hope I find it soon.”

Myeonghu began to sing a strange chant as he murdered his way through the fox population in the area.

Dadadada

“Huh?”

A fox which saw him coming ran away in advance. Since this hadn’t ever happened before, he was immediately suspicious.

‘This might be my clue!’

It was only based on a feeling, but Myeonghu desperately chased after it.

‘Where are we?’

After following the fleeing fox for quite some time, he arrived at an unfamiliar place.

The fox then entered a well camouflaged cave entrance and soon after a deafening roar was heard.

Rawwr!

It didn’t at all sound like something which the cowardly fox could produce.

“Could it be?”

Myeonghu began to hope as he cautiously approached the cave and came across another fox at its entrance.

“…?”

The fox in the cave was indeed huge, forcing him to look up to get a good look at it. Still, it wasn’t as big as the Great Fox King. If he had to guess, it was somewhere in between a Large Fox and the the Great Fox King which he had encountered last time.

Rawrr!

It roared out once more as it stepped out of its cave.

“Is it some kind of Mini-Boss?

Myeonghu walked towards it casually. Based on its size it was certainly weaker than the Great Fox King which he was hunting, so he had nothing to be scared of.

‘Hunting this guy it should give me a good idea where my current strength stands.’

Although it couldn’t be compared to the Great Fox King, it was still quite large. If he had trouble hunting this one, then he could only put off his hunt of the actual Great Fox King.

The fox watched him carefully as he approached. Then, his eyes gave a dangerous glint as it suddenly swung with its front paws.

Pak!

Myeonghu didn’t even bother defending, simply taking a look at his health.

‘400?’

Given that his Icy Knuckle Braces provided him with an additional 200 defense, a basic attack of 400 was still quite significant. Of course to a player like him who had more than 40,000 health, it was like a drop in a bucket.

Myeonghu proceeded to walk closer to the Fox, not a care in the world.

Pak!

The Fox struck out once more with its front paws, this time seemingly somewhat faster than the last.

‘450?’

Although it was a bit stronger than the first attack, it didn’t differ by much. A slight smirk formed on Myeonghu’s face as he saw how little damage he actually took, and he responded with a light punch.

Bang!

“Huh…?”

Myeonghu was confused seeing the Fox’s corpse sprawled on the ground.

“…”

He had just sent out a light punch to test it out, but it had died in a single hit. His gaze was fixed on the fallen Fox’s corpse as he bent down to pick up the items.

-You have acquired the Inner core of a Great King Fox.

-You have acquired the claws of a Great King Fox.

“…?”

He had been dumbfounded when he one shotted the rather large fox, but he was once again stupefied after seeing the name of the items.

“I didn’t miss something, right?”

He checked his inventory once more and confirmed that he indeed now had the pelt, inner core and claws of the Great Fox King in his possession. Myeonghu then flipped to his Quest window to confirm that they were indeed the same required items.

<Hamuru’s illness 3>

✿Hamuru, the village’s best hunter has collapsed due to a certain disease. Ga Dogu, who is not only the village’s Chief but also its doctor, needs your help to concoct Hamuru’s cure. The third ingredient required is the Great Fox King’s Inner Core! Collect the Great Fox King’s Inner Core and take it to Ga Dogu!

<Tilto’s Craftsmanship 1>

Tilto, the number one blacksmith in the village requires the claws of the Great Fox King. Go obtain those claws and return them to Tilto.

“What…”

Sure the Fox was huge compared to the other ones, but it was still much smaller than the Great Fox King which he had seen the first time around, leading him to believe that it was only some kind of Mini-Boss. However the truth was that this one was the actual Great Fox King.

“Then what the hell was the other fox?”

Myeonghu still couldn’t understand the identity of that other, much bigger fox now that he had ascertained that he had just killed the actual Great Fox King. Still, now that he had completed all three of his quests, he headed back towards the village to hand them in.

His mind was still however on that mysterious fox. Since it was much bigger and stronger that the Great Fox King it could only be a superior existence to it.

‘I guess I won’t know until I hunt it down.’

He eventually shook his head, ridding himself of such pointless thoughts as he decided to look at his character window instead.

Killing the Great King Fox had rewarded him with three level ups and therefore 30 bonus stats. With a small smile, he didn’t hesitate to dump them all into Strength and then once again to a look to see what had changed.

Within such a short period of time, his Strength had once again shown rapid growth.

“No wonder it died from a single blow.”

He thought to himself as he remembered killing the Great Fox King with but a light punch. Now that he considered it properly, he had the Strength stat of a level 240 player which exclusively dedicated all of his stats to Strength, so the Fox’s death was not undeserved.

“This new weapon of mine also helps.”

Myeonghu looked down at his Icy Knuckle Braces. With his boundless Strength and a good weapon, it wasn’t unjust for the Great Fox King who is merely a Boss of this beginner area to fall so easily.

‘Since I one shotted this guy, could I do the same to the Bears?’

A creepy smile formed as a sudden idea struck him. Looking at his Icy Knuckle Braces, he realised that the Great Fox King he had just killed was likely stronger than a regular bear. If he was able to one shot it, wouldn’t that mean that hunting bears would be that much easier?

His smile widened as he thought of all the juicy experience and money he would gain by hunting bears.

“Let’s quickly wrap this up!”

Myeonghu was energized just thinking of hunting bears as he arrived at the Village’s entrance.
