Chapter 175 Steam Discovers Dr. Zola

TL: Kyous

Inside the laboratory, there was a silver coffin-like device, and currently, a middle-aged man and a young man were struggling to lift down a robot. Before the robot crawled onto the device, it was still alive and kicking, but now it was a soulless tin can. They carried the robot onto a cart and hurriedly pushed it towards the car outside.

The young man, Helmut, was walking while groping his right pocket. Inside the pocket was the sleeping device’s blueprint. He shouldered the responsibility to “revive” Dr. Zola after arriving at the new base.

In fact, Dr. Zola didn’t wholly place his hope on Helmut and Simpson to “revive” him. All these years, he had secretly prepared backup robotic bodies overseas and not just one. However, this matter involved life and death and the backup’s locations were Dr. Zola’s deepest secret. Besides himself, no one knew the locations.

At that moment, Dr. Zola’s consciousness had detached from his robotic body through the sleeping device and entered the wide world of the network. His consciousness wandered through the base via the network cable and quickly obtained access rights to all computers and cameras.

Five minutes later, Simpson and the group also left. The entire base was emptied, leaving Dr. Zola wandering in the network alone. The meticulous Dr. Zola began rechecking the missile launching procedure again, confirming no mistakes were made. Based on the settings, all three H.Y.D.R.A. missiles would be fired simultaneously in forty-three minutes.

After taking care of the matters in the base, Dr. Zola concentrated his consciousness before sending himself into the unknown depth of the Internet, entering the private space he carved. In this space, he swiftly synchronized his data with his backups around the globe, establishing his dominance. Then, he began carrying out his plan.

Since he still had things to do, he didn’t leave with Simpson and the group. He was preparing to teach the betrayers a lesson as these betrayers carried out atrocities yet still desired applause. A disgusting bunch.

Today, Dr. Zola was going to expose this group of people. Judging from the current Internet security standard, the ordinary civilian network securities were virtually nothing for him except for some special agencies which he didn’t dare to invade easily.

The speed of data exchanges on the Internet is extremely fast. Hence, Dr. Zola could come and go throughout the U.S. as he wished. Right now, he was traveling from city to city in the country, leaving his unique data on some television stations and private computers. Through this data, he could do whatever he wanted to them.

But what he failed to notice was as he was roaming the world of the Internet, behind him was a figure similar to him, except it was stealthier and was secretly trailing him.

……

In Triskelion.

Fury, Pierce, Peggy, General Ross, and Natasha were in a small conference room on the first floor. Some of them were sitting while others were standing and chit-chatting merrily. They were discussing the distribution of merits.

All of them were in joy except for Pierce. He felt like he swallowed a swarm of flies but he didn’t leak his thoughts in the slightest. Besides, he couldn’t even find the chance to escape!

Peggy and Fury had accompanied him since half an hour ago, reporting the news of successfully eliminating the H.Y.D.R.A.’s leader Sinthea Schmidt to S.H.I.E.L.D.’s direct superior, U.S. Security Council.

The news received strong support and appreciation from the U.S. Security Council which stated this matter would be announced and honored.

Due to General Ross’s military identity, he wasn’t involved in the conversation with the council. But after the conversation ended, he insisted on dragging the others to the small conference room to discuss the details of the plan in eliminating Sinthea. And the reason? He could treat this as after-meal talks with his fellow comrades when he returned to the army.

However, what General Ross intended was to fight for more merits for Fury. Although Fury and Pierce didn’t mention anything, he could sense the friction between them since he was an experienced veteran.

On top of that, ever since Fury cooperated with the military to destroy H.Y.D.R.A.’s bases, Fury was ousted for a year and he had heard some news about this. Then, Fury pulled him over here today for what reason?! To let him fight for the rights of benefits that Fury deserved!

Therefore, he requested Fury to put the details of the plan on the table for everyone, so that he had a legitimate reason to stand up for Fury.

Fortunately, Fury understood his superior well enough and scripted a story beforehand. Naturally, Pierce’s wise guidance and discerning eyes cannot be missed in the story. Since Peggy was staring from the side, Pierce forced a smile and accepted the credits.

And of course, Leo was on the scene and was hiding in the hair by Natasha’s ear at the moment, eavesdropping. As for why he didn’t continue hiding in Fury’s hair? It was because Natasha’s shampoo smelled more fragrant than Fury’s.

Right now, he was having fun eavesdropping on the story, especially when he saw Pierce’s constipated expression, he almost burst into laughter! Playing with big shots in the Marvel Universe was very satisfying!

All of a sudden, his helmet’s communicator began buzzing. The communicator had the function of a mobile phone, and it buzzing right now meant there was an incoming call. As for the “buzzing” ringtone, Steam volunteered to record its voice when he was modifying the helmet and it sounded adorable. Using Steam’s words, every time he heard this sound, he would be reminded of Steam.

Glancing at the display on his helmet, he found out the incoming call was from Steam. Puzzled, he accepted the call.

The Intracranial Transmitter instantly transformed his thoughts into electrical signals and Steam’s childish voice came from the communicator, “Buzz! Master, Steam found the big baddy that invaded Steam’s body last time! It’s Zola, right?”

‘Steam found Dr. Zola?!’ This thought immediately popped into his mind. He was overjoyed and was going to ask for details. But before he could say anything, he abruptly sensed a gigantic shadow pressing down.

It was Natasha. The buzzing noise coming out from Leo’s helmet that she heard sounded like a mosquito. So, she followed her feeling and touched the hair by her ears.

Leo hastily hopped out from Natasha’s hair, avoiding Natasha’s huge hand and hovering in midair.

Failing to touch anything, Natasha was slightly confused. The weather at this time in Washington began warming up and she was in Triskelion, why was there a mosquito?! But she clearly heard a “buzzing” noise that sounded like a mosquito, but she didn’t catch anything. How perplexing!

She carefully touched her hair again and found nothing, so she could only give up.
