The Heiress

Chapter 48 - LIKE A PRINCESS

"Mr. Cheng I AHH--!!"

"Watch out!" Panic-stricken, Ming-hùa shouted but alas, it was too late. Hui Yin had fallen into the bush

Initially, Cheng Ming-hua hurried towards her with a hint of worry but was soon replaced by an unexpected reaction even to him

"pfft" his shoulders shook trying to control this arising emotion

"Mr. Cheng!" she warned.

"you...ahahaha" laughter burst forth from his mouth while he held his aching stomach.

Seeing as Hui Yin's face turned dimmer by each second though, he stopped

"cough* are you..alright miss Anna?"

alright? He's asking me if I'm alright?!?!

"come, allow me to help you up. I'm concerned"

hmph! concerned?? Who smiles while saying he's concerned?

She glares at him and declines his offer "It's alright, Mr. Cheng. I can manage" she grit her teeth and stood up thinking of a way to escape the embarassment

"Oh no! Miss Lin, what happened to you?" Lydia rushed towards her in horror "Heavens! Why have you become so?"

"It's alright, Lyd, I just fell down the puddle"she assured the truly concerned woman."Would it be alright for me to use your bathroom?"

"ahh yes, absolutely miss Lin! I'll get you a change of clothes as well Now come!" she walked back towards the orphanage in a rush to prepare the things Hui Yin would need

"Well then, excuse me Mr. Cheng. I will be back" she bowed

"en" he smirked

---

"miss Lin, these were the only clothes I could find your size" Lydia held up a dress

It looked quite girlier than she expected. The dress had off-shoulder white top showing her milky white skin. It wasn't skimpy but a lot of skin showed, in fact, the lower skirting of this dress was long at the back but cut short at the front showing her smooth long legs up to her knees.Though reluctant, she had to put on the dress available at the moment.

She came out of the changing room a few minutes later and it wouldn't be shocking to know the amazed look on Lyd's face. The Hui Yin right now didn't have her long curly blonde hair or blue eyes but it didn't make her look awful, it just gave her another peerless beauty as an identity.

"I-it looks amazing on you miss Lin! My, if I knew that it'd suit you this much, I would've pushed you to that puddle of mud earlier myself!"

"err...thank you?"

"please do me a favor and give me a twirl..?"

Hui Yin did as she asked and akin to a switch flipped, Lyd's expression changed and dragged Hui Yin to another room

....

at the same time in another country

BEEP BEEP BEEP

Alarming sounds of beeping were heard as a group of reknowned doctors from around the world rushed towards the ward.

"What happened?!?"

"I..I..I don't know doc, the patient had an attack all of a sudden" the panick stricken nurse stammered.

"Hurry up and inject a dose if epi! Get the defliberator! Clear the room, three two one!"

BAM

"No reaction!"

"again, three two one!"

BAM

"Heart rate's decreasing doc!"

"Gel! Do it again, three two one!"

BAM

"Inject a dose of the heart stopper"

"But doc, the patient's health...it's a huge risk to take!"

"are we going to let Mr. Hui go just like that then?? Hurry up and do as I say, time is of the essence"

"yes doc"

"injecting a dose of heart stopper now"

"sigh all we can do is wait"

Silence filled the room, no one minded the cold sweat that filled their backs in anxiousness. Soon, as the doctor was finally going to call it, a miracle happed

Beep..beep..beep

"Heart rate's back to normal, let the patient's guardian know. Good work everyone"

...

"oh my oh my oh my! You must wear that! I'm most certainly confident Mr. Cheng would like it!"

What was only a couple of minutes turned out to be hours in Hui Yin's perspective. After the first few 5 minutes of bickering whether to or not to wear the outfits Lyd had presented, she learned that it was impossible to reject this woman so she gave in, but now it seemed like it was time to end this game of dress-up

"Lyd, I'm truly fascinated with these piles of clothing, trust me, I love playing dress up..it's just that it is time for me to get out of this room and do my job."

"bu--"

"besides, Mr. Cheng really needs to go back to the company and I can't become the reason for his tardiness....please forgive me but I really have to go.."

"we haven't chosen what dress you'll wear yet!"

"I know that the dresses available are only costumes but I need something that is at least a bit formal..maybe a knee-lengthed one?"

Lydia sighs "alright, I suppose this isn't the right time for me to force these upon you" she points to the pile of dresses she took out from the orphanage's wardrobe "here, wear this and this pair of sandals and you're good to go"

Hui Yin gives an apologetic smile "If possible...let's meet up sometime and continue this alright?"

"ahh sure! I'd be delighted!!" Lyd smiled pleasantly, she liked the girl in front of her. For her, Hui Yin was a confident and inspiring woman. It was rare to fine women like her in this age. "well then, let's go down now...the children are waiting"

The both of them finally walked out of the bedroom and went down the stairs, Hui Yin who was now wearing a different outfit seemed to have made the people in the hall, silent.
