The God's Throne

Chapter 23 - I will be taking him!

Eria glanced around his surrounding with a look of joy. Several mountains of gold and bags of golden crystals laid before his eyes. He knew that he was finally rich.

Quickly stuffing the items in his space pearl, he headed off for the exit. However, before he could run off, a massive figure blocked his path. He had a handsome young face and was ripped, but had an unmatching hopelessness face, and big slashes of sword mark around his body. His body structure was twice the size of Eria; in front of such a big fellow, Eria with a sword looked like a child with candy.

"Sir, I say you give me back my stuff, with that spatial treasure or he will end your life right now," said a person at the back with slyness. It was naturally the manager. His eyes were with greed as he scanned Eria's body.

Eria stared at the big fellow with a sign of pity. Seeing a chain hanging around the guy, Eria understood that the guy was a slave and owned by someone. Owing a slave was legal in the Empire, but Eria wasn't comfortable with such custom. Furthermore, seeing the wounds on the honest guy's c.h.e.s.t made him even more against the system.

"But, I don't want to kill anyone," a soft voice escaped from the slave's mouth. His voice clouded with honesty, and nothing else rang out "and, I belong to the boss, not you."

"Seems like I have to punish you once again," the manager by the side yelled. flickering his wrist, he pulled out a remote out of his sleeve. With a press of the button, a layer of electricity surrounded the slave. This made the slave hold his head with a miserable scream.

"I will still not do it, even if you kill me. Even master said I don't have to kill anyone," The big guy however retaliated with an agonized expression. Yet, the manager gazed at the slave with an ice-cold smile and said, " Piece of trash, I will kill all your fellow slaves. Will you do it or not."

"I know you wouldn't dare. My family and friends belong to the boss, ahhhh" The bulky arm wrapped themselves around the chain like a claw of a tiger, wanting it to tear it apart into pieces. A roar came out of the slave mouth which shook even Eria's soul.

Eria's eyes tingled with emotion as he turned towards the slave ; they contained both awkwardness and sadness. As he saw the slave fight back, he cheered for him; but, against, Eria's yearnings, the lightning around the chain grew more prolonged and broader. This made the bulky guy's effort futile.

"This is hideous to watch," Eria was astonished as he saw the scene before him. Unable to watch it any longer, he attacked the manager with a fist. However, as it was about an inch before the manger's face, a rebound higher than the attack blew Eria away.

"Defensive talisman!" Eria's eyes flashed upon the pendent which hung around the manager's neck. It was spewing supernatural wind which shrouded the manager. Seeing the golden lightning occasionally flashing, Eria knew it was an elite treasure.

"Master won't be out for a year or so. Do you dare to defy me Nul, if I die, all of your brothers and sisters die," with a dark face, the manager took out a small sword; it was a talisman for attacking. However, it was still an elite treasure, not capable of hurting Eria. It only worked on people with strength below that of the standard knight.

Due to the huge commotion, the place was encircled by curious stares. Although most of them weren't mighty, they had high status; and, seeing their look of ridicule, the manager decided to end it.

With a hesitating look, Nul clenched his hand and sent a powerful fist towards Eria. Eria however, didn't dodge; instead, he took the punch to his face. Contrary to the manager's expectation, Eria wasn't sent flying; rather, he stood with his foot rooted to the ground.

Although he had taken the attack without flying, only his nose was still broken as Nul had held back. If Nul had applied his greatest arsenal: his spirit power, Eria's head would have been blasted into countless bits.

"Ah, a member of the barbarian race and a destiny child, "Eria eyes shined with delighted as he felt the arm against his face. Using God's soul, Eria identified the slave's identity and secrets; God's soul had not only peered at his body but also his destiny and the soul.

" I will have to take him to a better place than this... waste" With a resolute expression, Eria tightened his fist. Shaking his head slightly, he let himself loose of emotion and converged all his mana into his fist.

With a shake of his fingers, a fiery red sword suddenly appeared before him. Since he had decided to free the slave, he would do it with my life at stake.

Swish

As Eria made his move, a red phosphorescent wave of sword beam headed for the managers head. Not expecting Eria's move to be so vicious, the manager panicked. However, he still used his sword talisman and all of the defensive talismans to keep himself alive.

A wave of gas soon followed after the attack, enveloping the manager. The guards that stationed at the bottom floor of the hotel exchanged looks and enter the cloud of gas.

After a minute, dragging the manger like a dog, they fed him a spirit herb and splashed water over his face.

The manager woke up with a jolt of pain and broken bones. Glancing around with a look of despair, he cried, "Nul is gone. Kingdom guards, please help me. The master is going to kill me if I lose Nul."

...

A day later.

Zaphire academy. Student dorm.

"Please, let me go. If I don't go back, my friends and my family die," A husky but imm.a.t.u.r.e voice resounded through Eria's room. However, Eria paid no heed to the sound as he took out a knife and gently cut the top section of Ying's forefinger.

With a terrified voice, Nul cried, " Why are you torturing me? I have no information to give you. I am only a young v.i.r.g.i.n boy; I have to live to keep my seeds."

Eria glanced at Nul with a strange expression, but soon after tightening his knife, he glanced at him with a weird light. He had kept him in the space pearl for a time, afraid of him causing a commotion. However, even after a day of nothingness, he was lively as a young lion cub.

"I need to keep my bloodline, please. Don't kill me," Nul's expression was that of a frightened child. His eyelids were glued closed as tears leaked. For a large male to display such behavior made even Eria speechless.

Eria chuckled and said with a relaxed expression, "I am not going to cut you. I am going to give you the power to keep yourself and your sibling safe. Furthermore, I won't do anything to your seeds."

"You are going to be my servant from now on. I will give you a shape-shifting technique and will change your body structure; it's too eye-catching. And, before you ask me any questions, I will make it clear, you are my follower now and your family is my family..." Eria lectured the guy for an hour then took a mouthful of deep air.

Nul stood stiff as he gazed at Eria. As Nul clenched his hand, conflicted of the decision, he noticed that he didn't have any chains or a collar on his neck. Nul's eyes widened as he stroked his neck, afraid that he was experiencing a dream. However, even after punching himself for a couple of times, he was awake and still, permitting him to know that it was a reality.
