The God's Throne

Chapter 22 - Scammed

Eria dragged his heavily exhausted body towards the only hotel in the Soaring Dragon city. The only item he had on him was a pouch with few gold coins. Though he also had a space pearl, treasures in it weren't edible. His bloody body, family 'spear' and b.a.r.e a.s.s attracted more than a couple of looks, some bashful while some eerie. However, Eria wasn't particularly embarrassed as all he felt it was good to be alive and well.

However, it didn't mean he wasn't emotionless; he was still worried. What if someone thought he was a pervy guy and tried to kill him? It was better to be safe than sorry, so he went to one of the cloth stores near the hotel. It was hard to try on clothes with severe wounds, but he still managed to do it. Seeing the weird gazes of people, he bought and put on a baby mask over his face; that gave him more assurance of his safety.

With blood-soaked body and hideous wound, Eria entered the Zaphire hotel. It was challenging to ask for a room with a bloody mouth, but he still managed to do it.

"Sir, We only have one room for the VIPs. Since you are in a desperate situation, we will provide it for only five gold coins or one silver crystal for an entire night," said the manager. He had a natural sly smile, clearly due to scamming people. One gold coin was enough to fill any chap to live for a month, with even expensive booze and meat. Yet, this guy had the gut to ask for it so sleekly.

Although Eria knew it was a gigantic scam, he still purchased one of the rooms for three days. The Zaphire academy wasn't far, but he didn't want to be defenseless when he arrived there; after all, he was a commoner who the nobles could target to kill.

Entering his room, he found it clean to the point of sterility. There was a gorgeous bed, colorful curtains, and multiple decorations. There was also a burning candle at the corner of the room which released an intoxicating smell. He couldn't help but sigh at such a sight; it was not a room for a single person like him.

Although the room was eye-catching, it didn't matter to him. WIthout paying any more attention, Eria sat cross-legged and took out a hundred silver essence crystal. Without wasting time, he absorbed them one by one at the pace of a glutton. His recovery process was rapid, and by circulating mana with his origin god technique, his severe injuries, healed in a matter of seconds.

The meridians that were previously hidden inside his body opened one by one. This not only strengthened his body, but also the increased the amount of mana he could store.

After staying in the position for a couple of hours, the severe injuries inflicted on him were healed.

Suddenly, a layer of eerie, yellow liquid came off his body and mixed with the red blood. It was stinky and was causing discomfort, but Eria sat until every corner of his body was filled with gentle gaseous mana.

"I am at the limit of the beginner knights," Eria merely smiled at such achieved. It wasn't a big deal to him as this power was barely the beginning. With a few seconds of chanting, hot water surrounded him. Using the crystal clear water, he cleaned his body.

'I should be able to enter elite mage within six months with my current resources, but that's too slow. Moreover, those pesky imps start getting more powerful after entering third class, so I need to hurry up.' Eria thought as he clenched his fist. Mage and knights were individuals who grew up through the world's energy and enlightenment; however, Imps awakened the power within their blood to get stronger.

If Eria wanted to get stronger, he needed more resources.

Talents and resources were the catalysts which differentiated most of the individual. A person with genius-level talent would be faster to absorb resources and receive enlightened compared to high-level talent individual.

However, Eria was an exception as he already had in-depth knowledge of mana.

Due to multiple reincarnations, ninety of his memories were lost. Furthermore, the other nine percent of it was locked; but, it wasn't to be underestimated as it was an insight of a god.

With enough resources and time, Eria would enter the rank of a magical king; moreover, one nearly comparable to the magical emperor.

While Eria trained in swords and magic, more than two days passed in the blink of an eye. He had recovered a great deal, so he felt dull and sluggish staying inside the hotel. Although the room was huge, he felt cramped inside and a bit lonely.

He realized that if he wanted to calm his mind, he needed to go back to the Zaphire academy. Although Eria pursued incredible strength, he wouldn't let torture himself in isolation for it. Moreover, he needed resources if he wanted to grow stronger.

"Time to head back. I wonder what's Rin doing? I should head to the main academy when I have the time," said Eria as a profound glint spread through his eyes. He looked at a mirror nearby and realized that he had grown by inches in a few days.

With an evil glint, he glanced at the room around him. With a soft chuckle, he muttered, " I hate players who cheat. But I also love them. It gives me the reason for my wicked action."

His body, along with the luxurious furniture around him, suddenly vanished from the room.

After a few minutes, a knock came from outside the room. After hearing no response, a powerful but sly voice sounded out, "Sir, your time is up. You need to leave."

With a massive thrust of his palm, the manager opened the door. As he witnessed the clear view before him, his eyes clouded with rage. However, before he could utter a word to display his anger, a loud explosive sound rang out from his office.
