The Daring CEO's Innocent Wife

Chapter 17 - Hello, Ms. Unfortunate

Alex led her into the restaurant. The restaurant consists of one chair only, and it is in the middle. There was a large projector screen encompassing one whole side of the restaurant. Alex then stopped in front of the table and whispered to Samantha: "You can take off your blindfold now."

Samantha took out her blindfold and colorful chandeliers beamed at her face. There were petals of roses forming three heart shapes. There was a melodious song playing in the background. Then the projector automatically turned on and played a movie.

Samantha gasped in shock because that was her favorite movie. The only ones who knew were her best friend, Irene and some best friends in high school. Then a man's voice rang from behind them: "Hello, Ms. Unfortunate."

Samantha recognized that voice. 'Could it be?'

Samantha turned her head and saw a blonde man looking at her. She wailed in excitement and ran towards the guy, forgetting the man beside her. She jumped to his embrace: "Brother Jason, how come you're here?"

Then the atmosphere turned cold, and Jason sweated. He whispered to Samantha: "Please let go of me, or I'm dead by midnight."

Samantha did not know what that means, but she let go. She then felt the atmosphere and saw Alex looking at Jason coldly. Jason chuckled and explained to her: "Well, you see. Remember when I told you that I couldn't tell you my last name?"

Samantha nodded. She did not dare probe Jason's last name because she trusts him. Jason scratched his head and said: "My last name is Walton."

"Oh..." Samantha took a few moments to dig in the new information before she exclaimed.

"Y-You," she said while pointing her finger at Jason and looking at Alex. Jason nodded: "Yes, Alex is my older brother."

"But...When..." Samantha stuttered while not knowing what to ask. In high school, Jason courted Samantha, but she did not fall for him. Instead, they became best friends. While Jason dated, Samantha was the one who comforted the girl Jason broke up with.

"Let's eat." A cold voice rang behind her, which made her clamp her mouth shut. She turned around and saw the expressionless Alex. She then sat on one of the chairs in the table. She signaled Jason to sit beside her and Jason was about to comply when he saw his older brother staring at him like: 'You dare?!'

Jason wanted to cry so bad. He said to Samantha: "Maybe next time, you still have a date. Goodbye." then he ran so fast that he almost looked like he vanished.

Samantha pouted. She wanted to talk with Jason to talk about old times. Then two waiters holding a tray went to the table. They prepared a steak, mashed potato, pasta, and chicken.

Samantha forgot about Jason and her mouth watered smelling the food. Alex took a steak and cut it into pieces before placing it in front of Samantha. Samantha blushed and said: "Thank you."

Deep inside, Alex felt dejected. He was the one courting Samantha and just one appearance of his younger brother, Samantha acted like a fangirl. The only thing he gets is "Thank You's" and "Yes." while Jason gets hugs.

'It seems like I have to talk to Jason about this.'

...

"Achoo!!." Jason sneezed. 'Is someone thinking about me? I'm just too popular.'
