The Awakening Unknown

9:12 p.m

-Third Person Narration-

"Who the hell are you?" Ambrocio shouted.

Abis ignores him and glances over to Anja. Instantly he could tell that they were being rough with her. He found bruises all over her body and this made him question how that was possible.

'They must've drugged her. Or maybe...' Abis thought.

'I'm already bored.'

Abis zones out for a minute, his grip on Ambrocio loosens. Ambrocio immediately notices his loosened grip and signals to Ryuji to cause a distraction.

A loud crash noise appears behind Abis instantly snapping him back to his sense. He turns to see what had happened, just to see Ryuji standing behind him with a black blade in his right hand.

Ryuji frown became a menacing smile. "Haha, do you remember breaking my ribs! ...yeah your gonna pay for that."

Abis finds his words hilarious. He stares at Ryuji with a c.o.c.ky smile pissing Ryuji off even more. The blade in his hand begins to shake and curses Abis's name.

'Dammit, he's looking down on me again. Tch... he thinks he can beat us. He doesn't deserve to be an S rank.' Ryuji thought to himself.

'Well, ignorance is bliss!'

*Wham*

Without keeping up his guard, Ambrocio slams his fist into the back of Abis's head knocking him to the ground.

"You must be hard-headed, that punch usually knocks heads clean off their shoulders... and yet you survived."

Abis feel a throbbing pain in the back of his brain. He sees blood dripping from his head and instantly realized Ambrocio's cheating tactics. He stands and Ambrocio swings at him once again. But Abis grabs his wrist stopping it near his face.

Ambrocio had three needles poking out the gaps in his fist. Ambrocio tugs his arm but ultimately failed to attain control.

"Needles? I thought you would've fought fear. ...but I see that's impossible."

"How dare you insult me, you are lowly sc.u.m that deserves to be left on the side of a street eating trash," Ambrocio exclaimed.

Abis only taunts him more making Ambrocio grow even more furious by the second. "Wow, you just sent a shiver down my spine," Abis said taunting him.

'No matter what... I have to keep making him lose control. Because if not, then I'll lose.'

~Flashback~

Abis just finished training with Xi Lao. Fatigued, nonetheless he lost another fight. Despite getting even more powerful than he was yesterday it wasn't even close.

Before he had could react Ryuji had charged at him with the blade pointing towards his back. By reflex, Abis rolled away only for Ambrocio to kick him directly into the face. Abis groans in pain.

'Dammit! If I don't help now he might die.'

"There it is!"

「Pain Resistance」

「Poison Resistance」

「Enhanced Senses」

「Incredible amounts of bloodl.u.s.t have been detected 98%」

「Mission: Kill Chu~A Ryuji, and Ambrocio Agawa」

「If failed desperate measures will be taken」

'You didn't have to bombard me with notifications you know.'

「Healing Completed」

Abis stood, Ambrocio clenches his nails into his palm forming a fist. Abis instantly realized his reaction and acted on it. "Did you really think your attacks hurt me?! Don't make me laugh." This only angered Ambrocio.

"Don't act like your better than me! I'm ten times more powerful than you'll ever be." Ambrocio exclaimed.

He comes and goes only leaving heartaches and woe, these words always buried deep into Abis's mind since his mother told him that 12 years ago. The story was meant to scare a young Abis, it only gave him someone to admire. He wanted to be the wolf that instilled fear in other's hearts. He was a weird lad.

But the only reason it returned to the surface was that Abis knew that to beat Ambrocio was not to anger him but instill fear in him.

「Fear Factor」

「110% Offense boost」

And to use his ability is to feed off his own emotions that he holds for now. He was incredibly tired of Ambrocio's loud voice, so he within only seconds appeared in front of him covering his mouth.

"Shut, I need to think." Without even realizing it Abis slowly put fear in Ambrocio with his display of speed.

'How... how the hell did he make it to me that quick?' Ambrocio thought.

Ambrocio couldn't help but back away from him. 'What happened?' Ryuji questioned what he had just seen. The only one not stunned was Abis who knew that he used Shadow Travel. An ability that matches the assassins techniques 'stealth' even though it's similar shadow travel is even more effective. When using shadow travel his entire presence is erased. Unlike stealth that allows someone to detect their Qi if enough emits from it.

Ryuji dashed at Abis trying to cut him down, Abis dodges all the attacks but realized something... He stood and took the sword into his lower abdomen.
