The Awakening Unknown

Jonah stood across from me like a dead man. Suddenly, I whiff an irony smell. I turn my head to see a decapitated head lying beside me. I glance around the room, the bodies that were laying flat on the floor, vanished. I glance back to Jonah, my heart drops. What.. is he doing, is he eating Clair!.. I stand, my ankle sprained. I limp down to Jonah watching in horror. Why... why..why..why? Jonah is an E rank. I don't sense anything possessing him. Jonah glances up at me. He swipes his hand through Clair's blood and smears it over his face. My stomach begins to turn... I begin to feel nausea.

「Trauma Detected, Potential Obstacle will be removed : 00:03:59」

Jonah grabs an ax that was lodged in the ground, I make my way closer to Jonah. Pissed... I begin to curse at him in my thoughts. Why kill Clair, she didn't want to die. And now!

「Yami equipped」

Only anger fills my mind, I saved her risking my life and you killed her. I blitz in front of him and kicked him to the ceiling, 「60% power boost initiated」 Jonah blocked my kick sending a shockwave to my left leg. He flings his ax at my head, barely passing me. I blink and before I noticed, he was directly in front of me.

A sharp pain entered my lower abdomen, I glance down to find a thin pocket knife stabbing me.

"When... did... he stab me?"

I wobble backward, I stare into Jonah's eyes, but I see the same as before. A normal E rank. Yet he was able to puncture me without me realizing. Behind me, I feel staggered over Ash.

I noticed something, he's still breathing.

Jonah sensed something, as he jumped to attack me I lead him away from Ash's unconscious body. Then I remembered, Duster is also just unconscious. I can use both of them to my advantage.

「Plan analyzed. Auto Healing will be added to Duster and Ash. Potential power boost.」

I continue to leap around the room but with my sprained ankle It makes it a lot harder to move. I turn to Jonah and drive toward him. I clench onto Yami and lowered my shoulder driving to his right side. He becomes agitated, I swing my blade to his loin. He firmly grasps his Axe placing it in front of my blade blocking it. I lift my right leg. He goes to block it but I headbutt him.

「Ash Internal Healing completed. He shall awaken in 00:00:35」

I turn to see Duster's body moving. He staggers trying to stand, and when I eventually turn to face Jonah he vanishes.

I turn to see him returning to Clair's body, I analyze what he does while Duster and Ash grow enough strength to stand. I watch as he eats Clair's body.

「Action Analyzed: Predator Type, he was a secret experiment created by Professor An. The more flesh, blood, and organs he digests the more powerful he becomes.」

So he has to eat Clair to become even more powerful, and I'm guessing that he fled away because of his power depleting.

「Ash fully revived.」

「Duster fully revived.」

Duster and Ash both stand. I regroup with them and without explanation, they already caught on. Ash and Duster raise their shields and behind them, I stood.

We charged straight for Jonah, I leaped into the air but he ignored me. He views me as a decoy. When Duster gains coverage Jonah backs away in sudden fear.

Ash closes in and slams him against the wall, duster comes and pounces on top of him. I miss my chance to attack from above, so I power up a slash I know can kill him. All I had to do was wait for them to give me an opening.

「Shadow Touch activated.」

I continuously power up the slash. Jonah escapes from Ash and Dusters' grasp. Jonah begins to travel towards me. But before he could I let my slash go.

It sliced Jonah in half, killing him. Ash and Duster barely dodge my attack.
