The Awakening Unknown

Dungeon Stairway, Floor 2

Saturday March 18

12:11 a.m

I sit at the bottom of the stairway with Clair laying directly beside me. The wound on her face is gone, and my vision has returned to me. She has 45 seconds until she wakes up, there's writing under the time. But it's far too small for me to read. I lean in closer but it looks like scribbles; all I can read out of it is special ability but the rest I cannot read.

With only twenty seconds left on the timer I prepare for us to jump up the staircases. I suddenly sense high bloodl.u.s.t coming from atop. "Who's" I ask myself, I cannot just jump up there without her so I put her on my back and start jumping up the staircases. 

*..5...4….3…..2.....*

         [*1*]

The clock hits zero, and she wakes up.

She jumps directly off of my back and reaches the top of the staircase within seconds. Upon my arrival an explosion took place blowing Duster down the staircase. I find him lying unconscious on one of the staircases. 

He sits with half his armour and half his body blown up. The part of his body which was hit by the blast was scolded with third degree burns. So bad that I can see parts of his skeleton.

I make my way up the stairs fatigued, without anymore chi my stamina begin to run low. I've been overdoing it.

The moment I make my way up the stairs, I see Clair ripping the monarch elf into pieces. The group we were traveling with looks terrified by what they were seeing and I agree. A heavy gory moment that will probably traumatize me for a few nights. I meet up with Ash who sees Dusters body healing. Ash grabs Duster and asks me how I survived such a fall, I responded with "one of my abilities allowed me to make a way we stopped falling, although i'm running low on chi."

He leers at me, I can tell he doesn't believe me but he also can't come up with a better explanation. 

*special effect: after waking the once injured obtains a 40% power boost.*

"Anyway is she a rank changer."

I shrug my shoulder in response to his question and he becomes even more confused.

A rank changer has many different names, from rank changer to false ranker or to rank cheater, it has many different abbreviations to it. Soldiers who have changed their ranks usually do it by hacking the guilds ranking system or have a higher up change it for them. They usually do this for only two reasons: they are either psychotic cold blooded murderers or they are simply cowards who need money but are two afraid to take on missions too high. Also there is another type of reason that is the most uncommon, when a soldier of low rank wishes to participate in a high rank mission but not as a porter. 

But does Clair fall under that status. 

Ash picks his sword up and walks up to Clair, he grabs her shoulder and stops her from ripping apart the remainder of the elf.

Her bright pink hair returns, and her cherry undertone fills her pale skin.

"Where am I?"

She looks confused, Ash hovers over her looking as if he will cut her down without any hesitation.
