Sixteen Years

Liu Ruosong had known Fu Yan for twenty-seven years, and he had never associated the words “savior of the world” with him—until one day he woke up from a dream, turned his head, and saw his lover, separated by the boundary between life and death, standing right beside him.

“… I didn’t do it for anything ,” Fu Yan gazed ahead, oblivious to his own abnormality, and continued to answer the question Liu Ruosong had posed earlier, “If I had to say, it’s so that you can still take pictures in places you’ll like in the future.”

He said it casually, but it wasn’t until much later that Liu Ruosong learned that behind this “promise” was a solid sixteen years lost in the crevices of time for Fu Yan.

“Fu, on this special day, do you have any birthday wishes?”

“I want to watch the sunset with you, does that count?”

Notes: 1: Auto-save gameplay, they both start anew, but the save points are different. There are no superpowers, no traditional cheats; it took four restarts to complete the game.

2: Part post-apocalyptic, part mystery, the romance is very sweet, and the plot (perhaps) has moments of angst.
