Whilst talking with Qiao Min, Xia Zhilan casually swept her gaze across the many guests in the large fancy ballroom.

Suddenly, she froze.

Her eyes locked with a tall handsome man standing on the opposite side of the room - Liu Jianhong.

Unlike Xia Zhilan, a newcomer, Liu Jianhong was a mid-level host.

Despite travelling to many worlds, he was fortunate enough to only transmigrate into the ones where he mainly had to fight, which happens to be his strong suit.

His main mission was to inherit the original Liu Jianhong's family business, ZONXIA, a medium-sized tech company, and make it thrive.

Seducing Xia Zhilan, the heroine, was only a side mission.

They both wore the same indescribable expression on their faces as they stared at each other awkwardly.

'Oh shit, I forgot about him... This is kinda awkward-' Zhilan thought.

Liu Jianhong, who was speaking with a group of businessmen, politely excused himself and began walking towards her.

'Oh Xia Zhilan, the heroine, is here too!" he thought to himself, feeling equally surprised.

Due to the long hours he had spent working with his father, Liu Jianhong had long forgotten the incident between Xia Zhilan and the fabled president of Orchid Entertainment.

Qiao Min looked up at her boss and then glanced at the incoming Liu Jianhong curiously, 'Isn't that the Film Emperor? Do they know each other?'

"Zhilan, it's been a while, hasn't it?" he said whilst smiling charmingly, "You look very beautiful tonight."

"Thank you, I didn't expect to see you here, Jianhong," Xia Zhilan said with a smile.

"Yeah, I didn't expect you either."

Zhilan gave him a strange look, "I mean, this is the celebration party for the movie I'm starring in?" .

Liu Jianhong: ...

Ignoring the awkwardness, Liu Jianhong gave her ȧssistant, Qiao Min, a meaningful look.

Qiao Min glanced at her boss before leaving quietly after getting the look of approval back.

"Congratulations on your success, Lanlan," he said with a warm smile, "Sorry I haven't been contacting you as much lately, I've been really busy..."

"No, it's fine." Xia Zhilan said shortly.

Liu Jianhong furrowed his eyebrows slightly

"Hey, are you mad at me?" He asked patiently, sounding like a caring boyfriend.

"I'm really sorry, how about we go on another date sometime? To make it up to you?" He suggested sincerely, "All on me, of course."

Xia Zhilan looked at him with a complicated expression, 'Damn it, now I'm starting to feel bad...'

Although she knew there were no genuine feelings involved, she couldn't help but feel slightly guilty after all, he has a mission to do as well but because of her presence, he's doomed to fail.

He was just earnestly trying to complete his mission but she's going to ruin it.

A dark thought suddenly popped into her mind, "What if she caused his soul to be terminated?".

"Actually, I have something important to ask you about." Xia Zhilan said seriously, "Let's go somewhere more private."

'Is she breaking up with me?!' Liu Jianhong began to panic internally, 'No, my points!'

Xia Zhilan led them to a quiet balcony that gave them the entire view of the starry night sky.

Sighing dramatically Xia Zhilan said, "Since I am such a nice person, I'm gonna be honest with you, Liu Jianhong or whatever your real name is,"

The man standing next to her, leaning casually on the balcony suddenly turned stiff after hearing her words.

"You-"

"Hey wait, I'm not done with my whole monologue yet!" Zhilan quickly cut him off,

"I could have just allowed you to continue with this farce but alas, my moral compass just would not allow me." She continued theatrically, "Seducing me. That was your mission, right?"

"Who are you?! How did you know that?"

Xia Zhilan grinned happily, "Yay, it seems I was corre-"

However, before she could finish her sentence, a large hand suddenly grabbed her neck tightly

The man who looked so elegant just moments ago, now looked scarily menacing, "Who the hell are you?"

Xia Zhilan, still wearing a bright smile, looked down at the arm that was holding onto her neck.

Her smile deepened as she looked back up at the man standing before her.

Before he could even blink, Xia Zhilan dealt a sharp kick to his lower region.

Because she was so fast, Liu Jianhong didn't have enough time to dodge or block the vicious attack and he crumpled to the floor pathetically.

"You wanna do that again, huh?" she said whilst kicking his stomach with her heels, still wearing the same bright smile, "Touch me and I'll fuċkɨnġ kill you."

"Please stop...I'm sorry, please!" Liu Jianhong pleaded weakly.

Xia Zhilan harrumphed coldly at his apology however she still let him go.

She leaned back handsomely onto the balcony rails as she watched the man pathetically attempt the stand-up.

After a while, he finally managed to get up whilst holding onto the rails tightly for support.

Fortunately for him, Xia Zhilan felt kind and had decided not to damage his handsome face.

"If you had been a little more patient, I would've told you." She said whilst rolling her eyes with a disgusted expression, "Anyways, I'm your coworker."

"My....what?" Liu Jianhong said dumbly whilst clutching his stomach

His brain could not handle this strange twist of events.

Xia Zhilan's looked at him wordlessly.

She wasn't bothered to explain any further anymore.

"Urgh, let's discuss this another time." She said, impatience written all over her face, "You said you'd treat me, right? I'll send you the address when I feel like seeing you again."

Before he had the time to even reply, Xia Zhilan had already walked away, her heels clicking loudly on the floor.
