Fang Shufen stared at the group of people surrounding Xia Zhilan who were chatting happily together with a dark look.

'What a bunch of ass-lickers...' she thought to herself as she sat alone. 'shes just a role-thieving whore!'

Fang Shufen's arrogant and haughty attitude immediately caused the other actors to distance themselves from her.

'Im surprised Fang Shufen even made it in this industry with her nasty personality" they thought to themselves. 'She's lucky that Director Sheng only cares about skills.'

Xia Zhilan also detected Fang Shufen's ill intent towards her but she frankly she couldn't care less. Although she did expect a couple of dirty schemes as this was a pretty cut-throat industry, Zhilan was pretty confident that she'd get by, after all, there's practically nothing she hasn't seen before.

In her past life, her food had been poisoned with laxatives, her dresses were cut up and she was framed by the media, several times. Some girl had even once bribed her stylist to cut off all her hair.

Of course, Xia Zhilan still rocked short hair but it was still very aggravating. Obviously, that girl's acting career was completely over a couple of days later.

Xia Zhilan didn't expect any more than stupid childish tricks like tripping her over but then again, this is another world where she's the heroine so if this bitch decided to throw acid onto her face it wouldn't be THAT surprising.

Hopefully, she's not that insane, of course.

Xia Zhilan looked down at the girl pitifully lying on the floor, her outfit stained with the hot coffee from Zhilan's cup.

Zhilan didn't know whether to laugh or facepalm at her utter stupidity.

For the past few days, Fang Shufen had been picking on Zhilan in front of all their co-workers attempting to embarrass her. However every one of them had come to Zhilan's defence and harshly scolded Fang Shufen, and their opinion on her dropped even more than they thought was possible.

"How dare she bully our Zhilan?" A top-tier actress said angrily "She dares to be so arrogant in front of me, her senior sister, after just one popular role?"

"Exactly! Our Zhilan is the sweetest thing and she's a newcomer!" One of the girls said, hugging Xia Zhilan tightly with a pouty face.

"Actually I'm not technically a newcomer..." Zhilan attempted to b.u.t.t in quietly "I've been in the entertainment industry for a couple of years back in Country C..."

"I don't care. The industry in Country A is completely different from Country C! So you're still a newcomer." She justified righteously.

After Fang Shufen realised that her plan failed miserably and that all she ended up doing was offending other actors, she decided to change her plans.

Xia Zhilan stared at Fang Shufen who was lying on the floor with a wronged expression.

"Xia Zhilan! I know I haven't been the nicest to you but isn't this too much?" She yelled angrily "First you push me onto the floor then you pour coffee on me?!"

Zhilan just watched her clownery with a dead-pan face. 'She really thought this would work? Basically everyone has seen her trying to pick on me, now she's trying to make it look like I'm bullying her?'

If this happened in a room full of strangers instead of their co-workers who are actors, Xia Zhilan would've truly looked like a stereotypical villainess right now

Although Fang Shufen's execution was perfect and that it really looked like Zhilan had pushed her down from almost every angle, everyone knew both of their characters well enough. Everyone merely rolled their eyes at Fang Shufen's tricks.

'It seems like my hypothesis is correct.' Xia Zhilan thought to herself 'The female lead's presence does destroy brain cells.'

When Fang Shufen looked up and saw everyone obviously attempting to hide their laughter, she flushed red.

She truly looked a clown - there was coffee all over herself, her hair was messy, her 'wronged' crying had ruined her make-up and she was flopping on the floor like a dying fish.

Maybe the embarrassment started to mess with her head, but when she saw Xia Zhilan walking away, she suddenly reached out and grabbed her foot, attempting to pull her down with her.

Zhilan easily shookFang Shufen's hand off her.

A cold glint flashed in her eyes, as she ruthlessly kicked her.

As Fang Shufen had carefully planned out the position so that it would look like Zhilan pushed her down, it also hid Xia Zhilan's sharp kick.

Xia Zhilan walked back to her friends languidly as if nothing ever happened, leaving Fang Shufen lying on the floor.

"That woman is so embarrassing! Did she think her stupid act would fool any of us? She's looking down on us too much! Her acting may have been able to fool the average laymen, but we're all actors here." they said condescendingly as Xia Zhilan sat down.

"Why is she targeting you so much anyways, Zhilan?" Qian Yu, the top-tier actress asked.

"Maybe it's because of my good looks...?" Xia Zhilan said faintly whilst patting her face

Everyone laughed and rolled their eyes at Zhilan's arrogant comment.

"I'm just joking." Xia Zhilan chuckled gently "Apparently Fang Shufen also auditioned for the female lead role and now she thinks I 'stole' it from here or something."

"Stole? Who does she think she is?"

"Exactly! Zhilan rightfully earned it."

Suddenly Xia Zhilan's phone started ringing.

"Hello? You're almost here? Ah, I see. Thank you so much for picking me up."

"Who was that? Your friend? Your boyfriend~" they joked.

"He's just a friend" Xia Zhilan rolled her eyes at their teasing "He's also acting in my other show, «Stars in the Window» so he's picking me up on the way," she explained.

"You've got another role?! But it's almost 8 pm and we've been filming all day!"

"And you've been doing that high-intensity training every day, are you sure your body can handle it?"

"You can just ask the director to use the body-double for all of the stunts."

Xia Zhilan smiled calmly "Don't worry about it. I'm only doing the easy stunts and it wouldn't look good if we used a body double for every stunt since this is an action movie."

"But-"

"I've got to go now, see you tomorrow!"
