PS I'm Over You

Ginny cleared her throat. Until now she isn't used to with seeing Ririna in her deadly mode. She has always seen her as her another younger sister, precious and reserved. When she first met Ririna, she wondered how a kid like her could tolerate Eli's cold and harsh attitude. Then later, she found out from Evan that Ririna was Eli's new subordinate. A young girl in her early teens, training to be a personal assassin of the devil.

"I'm sorry, Gin," Ririna said when she noticed Ginny's discomfort.

"It's okay. It's a part of you that we couldn't deny. I just wish you will keep yourself safe from danger and please tell us if you need help. You don't know how worried we are when you were almost killed." Ginny pleaded.

"Anyway, I'm starving. Didn't you feed me the whole time I was sleeping?" Ririna asked. She felt like shit and tired. Her body was aching but she also felt like she needed to soak in a warm bath to clean herself. The wounds on her back ached again making her aware that there's really a chance she couldn't make it alive if lady luck wasn't on her side.

"We did. Just tube feeding though since we couldn't just put anything in your stomach because of your high dose meds." Ginny explained at which made Ririna's brows arched.

"High dose?" She asked. Ririna knew that her body rejects some medicines and would need something special to help it heal. Is this why her f.u.c.k.i.n.g wounds are still stinging her?

"Yes, we are lucky enough that Lady Song came here to assist us. She helped us find an antidote to those poisoned bullets used on you." Ginny said.

Eli silently listens to their conversation. It was really a good thing that his mother came to help in a critical condition. He wouldn't know what to do if she didn't arrive on time. During the time when Ririna was in a coma, he realized how helpless he could be. Even the devil himself had weaknesses.

Did he think of himself as a god? A god that could give Ririna everything? For a short moment, he found out he couldn't expect everything would be done on his will. His thoughts were disturbed when Ririna's stomach grumbled. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as Ginny laughed at her.

"Okay, let me call your doctor and ask what foods are approved for you to take. Evan was also preparing some snacks for Sky earlier, do you want some while we wait for the dinner?" Ginny asked.

Ririna grimaced. She really wanted to eat something heavy and delicious tonight. Her stomach growled again and she huffed not wanting Eli to see her embarrassed face. It has been weeks since she had eaten something.

"Please don't tell me it would be some kind of porridge. I wanna have a delicious meal tonight." Ririna pleaded to her friend. Ginny laughed and left the couple behind as she followed her husband and nephew downstairs.

"Tell me what did you find out? Was it Hattori?" Ririna asked. She shuddered against Eli before allowing his warmth to soak into her, relieving the chill that was forming when she thought about Hattori and his previous attempt to hurt her and Skyler.

"Perhaps but we aren't really sure." Eli started. He raked his hand on Ririna's short hair before kissing her shoulder. "There's a successors game that is going on," he added.

"So? What about it?"

"Hattori added you as his rightful successor." Eli grimaced. He didn't like what they have discovered earlier. The information about Ririna being the next Hattori and the next Queen of the Underworld brought many issues up against them. Is he strong enough to fight for her?

"He did what?" she exclaimed.

What? She's part of a game she never intends to join? Why would Hattori pick her as another candidate? She left the Underworld for more than five years now. Why would he want her to join? Unless of course, this was the deadly game that was mentioned in his blue envelopes.

Ririna turned her body slightly and looked up at him. They both looked at each other's eyes as if they both knew what's going on in their minds. She couldn't run away anymore. Someone purposely had lured her to come back because of this. She wondered if she could ask Rion or Evan to take away Skyler to a safe place, but then she realized she couldn't part with her child.

"What should I do? What about Sky?" she asked.

"Do whatever you think is right. I will be here to help you. We've already assigned someone to be with Skyler at all times when we aren't around." Eli replied.

Ririna didn't reply. This was another twist she didn't expect to hear when she woke up. What are the terms? Is there a way for her to forfeit her candidacy for the title? And how was this related to her mother's death, she wondered.

"Do you want the title?" Eli asked, making her gaped at his question.

"I don't but if I could have a chance to make the world a better place…"

Could she even do it? A mere artist who had given up her life in the Underworld to live freely with her child in another country, could make a difference? NO! That's impossible. She can never be.

Eli's hands rested on her h.i.p.s, his heartbeat calming and lulling her into sleep. She sighed contently, wishing they could stay like that forever.

"There is something else you should know."

"What is it?"

"Kian was one of the candidates and successors. We received reports that he was the one who put a bounty on Skyler's abduction."

Eli's voice was so cold that it made Ririna shiver in fear. She could sense his killing intent. Of course, she could understand. She clenched her fists as she thought how she met Kian after Skyler's failed abduction and before her assassination incident. How dare Kian try to drag the innocent Skyler in this game? Did he really want to get rid of Skyler just like the other men pursuing her?
