Pokemon In Cultivation World

Chapter 5 - The Start of A Routine

Blake got to know a lot of things with the excuse he came from a remote village, he had now a guess of where he was. A cultivation world, a new thing to add to his 'Weird things that happened today' list.

People, specially guys, were weirdly helpful when he asked them information. And even though Blake was annoyed at this, he knew it was because he looked like a beautiful girl.

There was even one guy who had a annoyed face at first when he stopped him, but when he looked at Blake face, he immediately had a smile and started telling everything Blake asked honestly and even in detail....

He really wanted to facepalm, he now understood why some girls hated guys. Well, at least no one suspected him to be a spy or something like that, or that's what it looked like on the surface.

He was in Fengliang City, a small-medium sized city with quite the population, it's gonna be a medium sized city soon. He was in the Sun Bird Country, and he had no more information about his location besides that. He also got to know that the cheapest inn around here is four coppers per night. The guy who said the inn prices even invited him to his own inn room.... He obviously refused.

And as he entered the city, he saw people carrying beast corpses and armed with weapons. He got to know that some places here bought beast meat, fur, teeth and others so the wolf corpse he dropped on the road earlier was worth money.... If only he knew, he would've tried to put it in his bag.

Blake doesn't know the currency here, but since it's copper coins, he had a idea of how it worked. Maybe it was the standard copper, silver, gold system.

And since he doesn't want to sleep on the cold, hard ground tonight, he is on his way back to the forest to find some lone beast again. He got to know the name of it, it's name was Green Bark Forest.

it wasn't the only one near the city, there were around three forests including this one. Green Bark Forest was the less dangerous and less rewarding one of the three, only people who aren't that strong go there, since they can at most earn enough to eat and sleep in a inn per day. People here weren't weak in the average because of it, since you need to either hunt or farm if you weren't rich. The majority of the population did one of both, rarely one had a job like a mercenary.

Blake found this convenient, he could now train Riolu and earn money at the same time. He could even try to train Riolu in Aura when they had free time, and try to learn it himself from Riolu when he was good at it.

He entered the forest with Riolu who was now outside of his pokeball, he was not worried about getting lost since he had a map in the pokedex. They walked carefully in the forest, Blake was counting on Riolu to sense enemies hostility to avoid ambushes.

They found a fox slightly bigger than Blake remembered them to be, and Riolu killed it in two Vacuum Waves, with his EXP increasing a bit. Blake tried to put the fox corpse in his bag, but it didn't enter the menu. He sighed, it didn't work after all.

Earlier, Blake tested what he could put into the bag by trying to put stones and other things in it. He found out he could only put certain things in it, and seems like a corpse was not included. He could still use it like a normal bag for things like this though, so he just stuffed the fox corpse into it, even though he was somewhat disgusted.

They didn't stop with just this and Riolu killed another fox and a raccoon, because of this he barely reached Lv 2 with his stats increasing a bit. This forest was in its majority filled with small animals, wolves were a little bit rare to find here, that's why only people who didn't had strength came here.

The bag was full, so they had to come back. The journey wasn't long and they didn't need to get directions first, since Blake had the pokedex. Once they reached the city, Riolu was in his pokeball and Blake followed the people carrying beast corpses to find the kind of stores that bought it.

The people that sold beast corpses had to enter from the back, so it didn't form a long line in the front of the stores. He found one that didn't had a lot of people in line and his turn soon came.

The person that was in charge of receiving the corpses greeted him, and he took out the two fox corpses and a raccoon corpse from his bag.

"Uncle, how much this is worth?" Blake was genuinely curious, he wasn't afraid of being cheated since no one would risk the reputation of the store for some copper coins.

"Hmm... Two foxes and a raccoon... The foxes are worth about 4 copper in total and the raccoon 2. By the way, this ins't a job for a young girl like you. You must have a rough life." Said the middle-aged in pity. He probably thought Blake was from a household so poor that even the girls needed to go out to hunt, or that he was a orphan without parents, something like that.

"We do what we must to survive, right?" Blake laughed wryly and didn't bother to correct the man misunderstanding.

"By the way uncle, can you tell how do I get more money from these? I'm kind of new to this." Said Blake taking advantage of the middle-aged man pity, what a bastard.

"Sure little girl. The more intact the corpse is, the more money they are worth. The max you could get from a fox is four coppers coins if the corpse was nearly intact, same for the raccoon. But yours was very damaged, so it was worth only about two coppers... Little girl, how about I give you 3 copper coins per fox? But keep it a secret." The uncle smiled and put eight coppers at the table.

Blake smiled brightly, said "Thanks, Uncle!" took the copper coins and got out from there. Once he was out of sight, his smile was gone.

'The power of a pretty face is too big... I hope I don't turn into a manipulative b*tch because of it...' He sighed and searched around for a inn to stay. He found one who was pretty cheap, the bed wasn't hard as the ground but wasn't soft either, and they only gave one not so delicious meal per day. It's still better than sleeping on the ground with nothing to eat though.

He headed to the forest nearly as soon he woke up, going out to hunt with Riolu again and maybe teach him aura. He didn't notice it but that was going to become his routine for some time.
