Pokemon In Cultivation World

Chapter 4 - Pokedex And Fengliang City

"Dear lord...." Blake couldn't help but utter this as he watched the scene. He was shaken. You couldn't blame him, it was the first time he saw a living thing beat the other to the death with his own eyes.

He took two deep breaths and calmed down. Besides it being only a animal, it tried to kill him anyway, so he didn't feel guilty.

"I think this could enter the manga..." Blake didn't saw the Pokemon manga but he heard of how it was violent to the point of showing a Charmeleon cleanly cutting a Arbok in half with Metal Claw.

"Riolu, are you feeling well?" Blake snapped out of his daydream and called out to Riolu.

"Riolu!!" Riolu answered cutely again. Blake felt weird seeing him change from the murderous Riolu earlier to the cute one seconds after he called his name.

In the end he didn't care very much and just patted Riolu head again, this little guy pretty much saved his life. He doesn't know what would have happened if he met that wolf alone.

For those who don't understood how Riolu noticed the wolf, Riolu inborn talent on Aura probably helped him feel the hostility of the wolf coming from the bush. If it was any other pokemon they would've been ambushed by it and it could turn into a difficult situation.

"What I feel weird about is actually meeting a lone wolf. Don't they travel in packs?" Even Blake had that common sense. Browsing the internet very much granted you a good amount of knowledge even if the majority of it is useless in day to day life.

"Anyway I don't wanna stay here to see if he has friends. Let's go Riolu!!"

"Riolu!!"

And they restarted their journey to a city or village or anything that had humans in it following the road. Riolu got half of his exp bar filled after killing the wolf, and a pokedex appeared in Blake bag. The pokedex had a map in it but it didn't show places they didn't visit, every place they didn't saw was grayed out, unlike in pokemon games where you can see nearly all the places from the start.

"Where the hell are those so called pokedollars..." Blake felt like he was cheated. He didn't see any pokedollars in his bag.

Just as he said that, a virtual screen suddenly appeared in front of his face, but since it was the third this happened today, he didn't got startled like the first time and stopped to calmly read it.

[Would you like to enter the virtual PokeMart?]

[YES] [NO]

"A PokeMart? Really? And a virtual one at that?" He wanted to complain about the weirdness of it, but in the end he didn't bother and just pressed [YES]. If he complained every time something weird happened, he would spend the whole day complaining.

A new virtual screen with a list of thing appeared. It had everything that a pokemart could sell in the pokemon games, from basic things like Potions and Pokeballs to stuff like Hyper Potions, Ultra Balls,Full Restore, Revive and a lot of things that were nice. What a shame, he only had enough money to get a single Pokeball.

[Balance ¥100]

"Seriously? I get to start with just 100 Pokedollars and a Lv 1 Pokemon? What kind of hardcore pokemon game is this?" In Pokemon games starters were about Lv 5 and the first time you visited a PokeMart you had around 1000 Pokedollars or more.

Starting with a Lv 1 was hard, since even the lowest level Pokemon in the wild of the Route 1 was at least Lv 2. Depending on which kind of Pokemon you had, you would have a hard time to even get it to Lv 2.

'Thankfully, It's a Riolu.' He unconsciously patted Riolu head, who didn't questioned anything about the suddenness of it and just accepted it like usual. Riolus weren't weak at the start of the game, even though they were stronger later.

He knew it since he played a unofficial pokemon game which he had a Riolu as a starter, everything was easy to beat, and when it evolved into a Lucario it became even easier. Any pokemons that didn't had resistance to fighting types got stomped by a High Jump Kick.

He normally didn't like pokemon games being easy, but who the hell wouldn't like to beat their opponents up easily in real life? Maybe a certain caped baldy, but Blake doesn't defeat everything in one punch.

'Though I'm half sure it won't be easy like that.' All the signs were showing that he wouldn't really have a easy time.

As they walked for who knows how long, Blake started to see buildings from afar. He was sure he would see humans very soon.

"Riolu, go inside the pokeball for now." Blake pointed a pokeball at him.

"Riolu!" Riolu turned into red rays of light and entered the pokeball.

Blake didn't want to show Riolu around since they weren't in the pokemon world. It was easy to think about what could go wrong, just imagine if something like a pokemon appeared on Earth, it would be captured by the government in no time.

Until he determines how this world would see pokemon, he didn't want to show Riolu around in public places.

After walking a little more, he finally started to see human silhouettes from afar. There was a reasonable amount of people entering and exiting somewhere that looked like a city.

As he got closer and closer, he overheard people talking.

"We finally reached Fenliang city, I'm tired of walking." Some guy that was in front of what Blake thought it was a caravan sighed.

"Mercenary work isn't easy, if you are getting tired just from walking you might as well retire and be a farmer, Fang Luo." Said the guy beside him.

"You and your sharp tongue, really. Someone will beat you up like that one day." Said the first guy as they entered the city together with the caravan and disappeared from Blake vision. Blake was still in the entrance of the place, trying to gather information from where he was.
