My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

Chapter 33 - Plan for the Wedding

"Jess" John loosened his grip on her and turned her. They were now facing each other. When their eyes met, they both felt an unexplainable feeling in their hearts. He again pulled her towards him and held her waist.

Jess was now holding his shoulders. Her heart was racing. She felt that it would come out of her c.h.e.s.t.

He leaned towards her and whispered in her ears, "Jess, I like you. I liked you from the first time I saw you in Sydney."

Jess was tongue-tied. She could not tell him anything. She just tightened her grip on his arm. Jess was not clear about her feelings about him. She liked him but her brain was not ready to accept it.

John understood her. He moved away from her.

Jess didn't want him to leave. She liked the warmth he provided. She didn't want him to misunderstand her. She wanted to tell him something but didn't know what to say.

She blinked her eyes. He held her hands. "Don't worry. You don't have to answer me right now. I wanted to tell you how I felt about you. You can take your time. I will wait for you." He showed her a bright smile.

Jess was glad that he understood. "Thank You"

The eventful day ended.

The next day, the elders of both families met.

Jess's mom, Sophie: "It is more than a week since the engagement."

John's mom, Lina: "Yeah. We should now plan for their wedding."

George: "I want a sweet child like her to be my daughter-in-law as soon as possible."

Grandpa Blevins: "Jess is a sweetheart. Wait for a while before taking her away."

Grandpa Parker: "I already took her away when she applied to work in the company. She is very hardworking."

Lincoln: "John is a good match for her."

Sophie: "Yes. He is very good. I saw in magazines about him."

The atmosphere at the breakfast table was cheerful. They set the date for the wedding in two months.

The World Corporation.

Jess was busy doing her work as usual. She finished the important set of files for the morning meeting and went to instruct her team to get the meeting room ready for use.

She now felt comfortable around John but after his sudden confession yesterday, she didn't know how to face him.

John arrived as usual. After the meeting, she went to report him to his office.

John noticed that she was hesitant around him.

"Jessica I don't want you to feel awkward around me. Can you be like before?"

Jess nodded in agreement. She reported to him, took his suggestion and went out to complete her work.

'Sigh. Good that nothing is awkward between us.'

During lunchtime, she went to the office canteen. The office canteen is on the roof-top. Shade covered half of the roof space and they kept many tables. She usually eats lunch late. Today she finished her work on time and joined others.

After taking her fill, she went to the table where Teja, Rutuja, Shally, and Lovely were having their lunch.

Teja: "How come you got time to join us today?" Teja asked her as she moved to give Jess some space to sit.

Jess: "Before working on another file, I decided to join you guys"

Rutuja's mouth was wide open when she noticed a ring on Jess's finger.

Rutuja: "Oh my god! Jess, when did you get engaged?"

Jess had a faint smile. "I got engaged a few weeks back."

They congratulated her and started asking her questions about her fiancé. She could not say to them that her fiancé was none other than their boss. She just told them vaguely about him and his work.

After work when John dropped Jess at her place, he called her out.

"Jess, would you like to meet my friends? I have yet to tell them that I am engaged. You should call your friends as well. We can plan a good gathering this weekend at my place. What do you think about it?"

Jess thought about his suggestion. She had no problem meeting them. It was good that she could meet them and also introduce John to her friend, Rose.

"It sounds good. I don't have many friends, just one close friend."
