Mmorpg: Unity

Chapter 48 - Travel

Shaka had thought to pursue the fleeing enemies, however tending to the wounded and returning with Sea was of utmost importance to him rather than crushing the enemy. The small War band had gained victory at a heavy price, twelve dead, 8 heavily injured and Sea condition was truly unknown the amount of blood he lost left his health up in the air, with a lonely potion between him and death.

Shaka was stern and commanding his commands moved the reminder of his forces and Paiges back to the village. They proceeded to clean up battlefield of bodies both enemy and ally alike it was the command of Shaka. He needed the bodies for clues and materials. The enemies were all creatures with a strong body or some sort of unique ability. Shaka knew that as crafting materials he could at least make some gains. As he did not expect to receive any rewards from the chief while they had achieved a victory, he knew also that the lives lost was above normal.

The enemies had been especially fierce, well trained and brave men. The Shapeshifters was especially difficult to deal. He had thoughts about to how to handle them in future. The journey back to the Chark was quick they weren't tracking the enemy to an unknown location and could march at full speed. Some men had been told to go ahead to prepare the village. The chief had to begin making preparations for the families of the deceased men and women in the War band.

Most of the men went to barracks at the Southern end of the village. Only a few were left that could walk home, they made their way through the central region of the village to cheers from the villagers.

Trumpets were announcing their victories return, at a time like this when the world is full of uncertainty the small victory would matter the most. The Warlords were still unconvinced about the campaign and would need to swayed slowly. Politically this victory would also help Paige's powerbase. Any victory even a small one is a victory and would increase her power and influence especially since most the men were elites when they returned to their normal armies she would have allies she could use in future.

Sea had risen after they arrived in the village of Chark around sundown the sun a violent red that radiated through the windows, of a building grey and solid a great strong stone building in.The middle of the southern barracks. He was in the military hospital, it had been the first permanent structure build during the battle of meadows.

Nala was standing next to him, looking at a lot more relaxed her gaze full of emotion, her hand had not let go of his since he woke. "Ah the spring time of youth" Shaka thought to himself as he remembered an old earthen story that had been required reading in his foreign history class during high school. Shaka walked up to the pair, " I am going to be leaving in the morning the morning I want you guys to look after each other those bows I made for you guys are going to be stronger as you grow stronger."

Nala was the first to thank him, her life even thou chaotic had a semblance of order to it that she had not known for a a while. Their were no tears, the couple made Shaka a promise that they would keep until the day they die.

Shaka left to handle to the bodies of enemies, Paige had already talked to the camps chief medical officer. He had suggested that they spilt the materials the corpses would provide, however Paige was adamant they did not need them. She had already planned a small offensive on an old rival to further grow her influence, she believed that the future they could become one of the great herd cities of only she worked harder. Her ambitions had relight the embers of adventure in her fellow Warlord Draco, Sea's father. He had sent a note saying that he would support any future campaigns she planned, somehow he had found out about the battle victory even thou he was over five thousand kilometers north in the central forests of the Bakai, also known as the silverback clan.

Shaka moved towards his goal, since the chief would busy for the rest of day and well into the night with various arrangements, this chief wanted to do this because it not only served to "humanize" him to the villagers it also made him a sort of religious icon his power growing into all aspects of leadership in the village. Inside the a room the bodies of fifteen enemies.

Notable the Lionman, whose personal belongings had been removed by the Gorgon female who had collapsed causing the Shapeshifters to leave the battlefield, Shaka thanked the heaven's again for this bit of luck.

The bodies blood were mostly unusable, he had taken the hint on the importance of blood from the Centaur female that had drained Sea's blood. He processed each and everybody most disappointing was that even the Lionman core was still white.

The power they had displayed was mostly pure physical strength, one of the benefits of being a Demifolk. The Gorgons snake hair was still developing so he could not harvest petrifying liquid in large enough quantities to be useful. The same could be said for the Lumia poison glands. The Penghou husky were to badly damaged since they fell first on the battlefield they hand been stomped on and received many missed attacks. The Avian claws were a great find they could be used in many things. The feathers not so much. The Serpopards teeth and leather are particularly valuable just based on rarity in this area. The horns of the five fallen Anggitay were precious magically items. He was Going to make wands that could double up as knives for all his sister's. The way fact that he would still have one left over was great. The rest of the bodies didn't produce anything of note.

The only thing left which Shaka gave to the military base were the personal belongings of the enemies he did not want the hassle that would come with selling their armors, he thought that the escapees might be back for retribution. Shaka tinkered until the early hours of the morning his beast had arrived while they had been out on the battlefield. He had left the money with one of the servants of Paiges estate with strict instructions.

The Mithril Oryx was beautiful its white gold skin shimmering in the early morning light. It was good animal happy and healthy. He finished packing his mobile forge and home (carriage), and moved the whole thing outside the Chiefs mansion. He waited less then hour before being summoned by the chief, as he had guessed the chief gave him verbal rewards and thanks, also including a small title that really meant nothing at all. He bid Paige and the Chief firewall his sights set on the Valduum and the Gu legacy that could be found their.

Shaka was only a few meters away from the village when above him a bright golden light went off, it was an arrow shot from Nala as a token to wish him well the golden arrow had special reverence in Centaur mythology. Shaka smiled as he urged his Oryx to move north towards the mountains. He moved at a leisurely pace. Picking plants and various monsters that attacked him. The hobgoblin surprised him as it was rare to have higher powered monster in these parts. The number of cores needed for his own growth was getting close he was already half way their.

In his experimenting with the weapons he realised he could do something similar and provide a additional function on his nano-id. He worked as he travelled the changes he was making to his nano-id was done through the knowledge left to him by Gu. He pasted small villages of various people the biggest of these maybe had twenty buildings. He would interact and find out the location of the next village and ask about anything unique in each village. The one villager that gave him hope speaking about how since the arrival of the new people some plants had shown to have mana abilities. He had heard of this before, in fact mana plants was one of the reasons he spent so much time picking up plants he wanted to know as much as he could. The bloodlotus that the villager mentioned was actually still to young to be of any use. The journey gave Shaka plenty of Chase to trade for many trinkets and materials. He even got a clue for the moonblade he was looking for.His current weapon the devouring spear needed to be upgraded as to properly complement his skills. He spent the night in a another tiny village he arrived close to midnight. It was the only place that had an Inn for a hundred kilometers. The Monterose Inn was a shabby little place barley alive with activity, the only people besides the owner was a local human who had moved to find his purpose. Shaka settled in quite nicely making sure to properly care for his Oryx before going to bed.

In the morning he saw the man sleeping at the table, he had spent the night their. Shaka paid for his morning meal, before discussing about the sights that could found around the village. The inn owner told him that the village is famous for it lemons that grew to the size of reavers (Tennis ball), each of them exactly the size and always fresh. She said the land itself is blessed since a monster died here about a year ago the farm lands have been especially fertile.

Shaka prepared to move along with his journey, when the man asked him for a lift he lived on the outskirts of the village and needed a ride, stating that he was in way okay to ride his horse. The man explained were he live and indeed it was exactly as he said on the outskirts. He dropped the man off moved along toward the mountain. The first obstacle he had had to pass was the river Mooi. Lucky for him at this area it was more like a small river of he was a few thousand kilometers south it would be a eight hundred meter wide river that is at least five hundred meters deep.

As he crossed the river a small notifications came through. The minor adjustments he had made to nano-id had been completely activated.

His nano-id was still white, showing he was a ranked adventure how he the changes he made him laugh as to how the system had interpreted his modifications.

Even thou simplified the similarity to Unity was uncanny the font, and other minor details really sold it to him. He really liked it Oshun had in fact favoured him in his eyes he knew that his sister and Musa should not have been with them as they did not meet the minimum requirements, however given their special status in defeating Merlin she had allowed for the two to join them in Lumeria.

The mission he had received from Lord Gu, before arriving on Lumeria was to find his old workshop that is in Lumeria and get Lord Gu's most prized possession. A three volume book, the first volume would give him the creator talent, which is an upgrade from his inventor. As a creator, the first volume was about tool making which is easiest form of creation. The second volume was called the Alchemists Cook book, which featured techniques for all kinds of different potions, forging fires and magical weapon and metal development. The final volume was the Tome of creation, apparently by observing the Tome one can learn the laws of creation worth mana only. It is a form of using ones own life force as a catalyst to create something never seen before.

Shaka was glad that his first mission would be finished soon.

ROOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRR!

A clear deep and heavy sound that shook the earth was heard. Every one in a eight hundred kilometer felt the shaking.

A huge boom came from the east Shaka stabilized his startled Mithril Oryx. The sound and vibrations coming from the Infinite Forest. Shaka wondered what that was as he hurried along the way his journey still had about two days to go before he would reach the mountain range with the tallest Mountain on the continent. Inside Valduum the jewel of the Dwarven kingdom. Further north a desert home to many Orc tribes, desert creature and rare herbs. The Robi Desert was a small area with a specialized regional magic that was practiced by all who lived there.

Oshun city, the adventures association, a small council chamber. Five members of the council are discussing the events of the year when an earth quake hits breaking a one of the beams in the Chamber killing Elder Chetty, a supporter of a rival faction in the Association. The members believed it was not a coincidence a start moving pieces around to lose their power.

This small event would eventually affected the make up of the Elder council leading to the appearance of three powerful factions in the Association.

A day later a giant undead Dragon flew south towards the Church. The Dragon was made entirely of bones only, it's wings formed by mana. It was a bright grey color the sharp green tipped tail. It stood six meters tall, when the wings are open ten meters wide. It's body is two meters wide, one wing four meters. On it head the figure of a man could seen he was wearing pure white heavy armour with a red cloth dropping from the crotch area. On the shoulder pads looked more like skulls than usual shoulder pads. He had a broad sword. The man's face now clean and shaved however if one looked closely he would see the scar that gave away his identity as the same man Shaka had given a lift.
