The forward tracking party at the forefront of the party had been tracking the kidnappers since they landed. According to the tracks they had been moved a steady towards the south. The kidnappers have made no attempt at hiding their tracks. They must be confident at beat the enemy.

Getting closer to a region east of Jade lake. A heavily wooded area spanning about ten square kilometer area. It was an area that would work to any small force advantage as it eliminates the possibility of being surrounded.

The War band was about an hour behind the tracking party [trackers are a special none combat squad specializing in tracking and information gathering].

Nala was really worried about Sea. His condition was unknown to her as they had been halfway to treating the wound when they were attacked. Sea was her best friend now they had spent a lot time improving their skills [mostly hers], also Sea was her connection to Chark if he was not around anymore she might even join a roaming herd. The thought of not being able to be with Sea made an emotional bottomless pit appear in her heart. Even her stomachs, became sick all four of them. She never realized how much this guy meant to her. The bow in her hand need its partner, the same way she needed Sea.

Nala was also appreciating her new bow to she had never had a custom made weapon before, even one of the captain's asked her where she got believing the bow to be some sort of special weapon. She explained that it was a custom built weapon from Shaka. The shock on the captain's face spoke a thousand words. Nala giggled momentarily, she for about a second had forgotten the mission. She quietly refocused her mind, of all the people she believed she had the most to lose and unlike before she could something to help this time.

Shaka had brought her along because even thou the Church had been pushed back they had spies in every graveyard, ghost in the walls and crows in skies.

The church's ability to gather information could not underestimated he could at most spare another week on this before leaving no matter what he was going to resume his journey he also had promises to keep to loved ones.

This business with the church also bothered him he knew that The Church Of The Undying must be plotting something, one day soon they would make a move. The Church does not make small moves either the campaign to claim the Southern Mountains, was one were they had utilized only five legions [5000 men excluding their summons] of the highest ranked officers at the time. The information about the campaign showed how the Church had gain complete control of an entire region in one single campaign that lasted less than week.

The War band progress was about to meet the first break point. They had been marching for most of the day. They rested for night Paige and Shaka decided that they would split the forces in half Paige would march at a slower pace while Shaka would move forward at marching speed until they caught up to Sea.

Shaka took Nala and twenty three men and marched on. They would keep marching if by the time the other catches up while their Shaka will continue on with them until they catch up to the Shape shifter party.

The smaller War band moved through grasslands even faster. One of the trackers left behind to inform the told them to move towards the small forest, east of Jade lake. After another few hours marching the tracks they were following became much clearer.

The fresh track spurred the group straight into The Endless Ocean Grass Group, they were in a formation with Cecil [Lionman] in the front followed by rows of Demifolk. The might on display was impressive for an unknown force.

None of the local force knew they were as such had no fear of them.

Gorgons and lumias, Shapeshifters on the form of Serpopard, the group of four husky Penghou were on the outer ranks of the formation. In the middle of the formation sticking out like a sore thumb an Orc. The Gorgons were scattered all around, they moved just like the lumias at the middle of formation.

Behind them a group of the Anggitay all fully geared, one of them had even started casting a spell. The biggest of them geared in bronze heavy armour, next being hung from a tree Sea was being drained of his blood.

The banner declared who they are The Endless Ocean Grass Group, is actually a pretty famous mercenary group. They are operating mainly in the central region of the continent. The contingent here was a special operations force doing a mission handed by the general of the mercenary group.

They had been in this region for four months, the Generals mission was one that they had accomplished, her delay in returning was because she had heard from a traveling merchant that a colt had an activated blood. This is rare in Demifolk as their monster attributes are dormant and their is no known method of activation[Yet]. Bloodline activations are usually found in monsters with

Shaka and others did not know the extent of force, however it would not matter to Shaka Sea would rescued. He handed out orders to the squads. The forces faced one another in formation an avian flying above ready to pick off a few people.

The tension was broken by a fireball from the one of Anggitay.The Chark forces, all ran forward, into the frey. The Chark forces arrived with an arrow volley. Those that could had raised their shield. Cecil with his excellent speed had already started fighting three Chark forces.

Small skirmishes had broken out all over the place, because the majority of Chark forces were Centaur they had run through the entire formation reaching the guard at the center of the formation. Nala had been providing support as Shaka told her whenever she saw a wounded person, she had to help deliver the finishing blow.

The Draconian men were Shaka's focus, he knew how serious they could be so made sure to keep them occupied.He had also told his soldiers to random launch spell at the middle it was clear that they are protecting the person in the middle. giving them an opportunity to limit the number of active combatants.

The chaos swirled around as the battle progressed Boichi had launched a furious attack on a squad captain and was quickly taking the upper hand. Vega had destroyed the soldier that he faced he was moving towards Shaka.

Cecil slashed at the throat of a soldier killing him instantly. Nala downed the avian he crashed close to the position of Sea. Nala was an effective long ranger fighter she had even managed to disrupt the only mage from casting when she fired a silver dust arrow which interferes with mana when in the blood.

The battle was gruesome the Shape shifters proved had to beat. so far the casualties on both sides were even however the fact that the Shapeshifters were not being defeated really upset the balance it would soon start to show. Shaka yelled loose and all the men dropped smoke bombs and over to a pre-agreed location.

At the meeting zone they all drank potions to replenish health. The only person still fighting was Shaka the smoke did not do much to deter his senses even Vega had managed to hold two soldier. Shaka was aiming for remaining Husky Penghou. Serpopard also had to dealt with. Shaka dealt blows to each of the squad as the battle quieted down.

The plan was going okay Sea was in a stable condition at the moment. Nala was also doing okay she was improving steadily. Cecil had fought one of the captain's and had gotten heavily injured when he did not see the blade the captain had launched.

They had rebuilt the formation and waiting for the smoke to clear. The speed of the attack that the Chark forces launched was truly dazzling. However they were facing a mercenary group they had professional standards too they had managed to get into position to defend themselves.

The battle raged once more lives being lost on both sides. Nala had been constantly making subtle movement towards her goal. She was shooting her arrows ever now and then trying to hit the rope that was holding him up.

The flow of battle with the people fighting the Shapeshifters were seriously unfavourable, Shaka knew something had to be done however, what The people fighting now were equally skilled the fights were mad. A random arrow could drop the enemy your were fighting at anytime.

Shaka's spear reverberated with energy he also moved faster, as the he pasted through a Shapeshifter, decapitating Cecil. Shaka was running through the enemies, Boichi finally managed to block him when defeated a pair of the Anggitay.

Boichi was knocked to ground the force of Shaka's blow had left her right arm broken, she was dumbfounded by his display of power. Shaka got even faster as he moved towards Sea. The reason for the sudden change in Shaka was because he saw the colour change in Sea. The affects of blood loss could cause permanent damage. He was now rushing through people at full speed.

He had already started to bond with Sea so he would not abandon him or Nala. Shaka launched an flare after killing the only remaining lumia. The Gorgons were all defeated lucky for them they weren't high ranked and as such did not yet possess the ability to petrify people.

Boichi was truly unhappy as saw the head of Cecil on the ground. The emotional distress caused her to collapse, Vega number one priority was the protection of Boichi as her father was the General. He immediately moved all his Shapeshifters to her side they proceeded out of the battle field not even looking back. Zenyatta could not say anything she had kept them longer than the mission allowed and now with the loss of soldiers she was in trouble if she didn't bring something back. She grabbed what blood of Sea she had and left alongside Vega.

The remainder of the army fought on they were buying time for their companions to escape they pulled everything trick and dirty move they had. The Endless Ocean Grass Group Banner was lifted as the men made their last stand, they appeared fierce with a brilliant radiance from the valor they displayed. It was a fool's radiance as Paige and the rest of the Chark had finally caught and were going to provide support.

They rushed crushing the little resistance that was like a fart in the wind. Some of the Chark forces chased Vega, they would never return.

Shaka had arrived in front of Sea, laying his body on the ground he gave him a potion. The colt was looking better as his color returned to him. Nala approached Sea and placed his head on her l.a.p waiting for Sea to wake up. She even braided the hair behind his right ear and added a piece of jewelry from her own braid. It was a symbol of affection that she hoped Sea would not reject.

Nala spoke to him in a Centaur dialect while was recovering whispering sweet nothings to the colt. It was a scene that was a contradiction. In this moment between two lovers, but only one of them was present for. They looked majestic and lovely however if one looked at their surroundings they would discover that it is littered with dead people.

It was a symbol of the coming times, one had to find happiness were they can as it is possible that another might not come. Peace would become a rare commodity in the near future. Shaka would remember this scene for many years.
