Early morning, Daniel walked down the stairs with groggy eyes with his usual black & white full-sleeved tee, which were pushed up to his elbows. Just to find that Alice was missing from her room. She became a night owl yesterday to accomplish such an important mission.

When he reached the living room, he saw her in her short, white bathrobe, wet hair & wearing her slippers in both her palms like boxing gloves behind the sofa. He was confused seeing her jump like a boxer & throwing punches in the air like there was a sandbag. He became more than confused & approached her, "What are you doing?"

When he turned around the corner, he saw a c.o.c.kroach lying on the floor.

Alice was muttering, "Come if you dare! Huh! I'll just squish you under my slippers. But, wouldn't it be great if I use my retro boots?"

She turned only to bump into Daniel. She gave him a bright smile & said, "This c.o.c.kroach plundered my sleep & even dared to barged into my bathroom. You know what? It even dared to swim in my bathtub!"

Daniel arched an amused brow. This girl never failed to surprise him. He curled up his lips, "Is it? Weren't you afraid of c.o.c.kroaches?"

"Umm...I used to be daring before. But suddenly fear crept in when I realized that they could fly!"

Daniel rolled his eyes & let out a sigh. Alice chuckled as she patted her c.h.e.s.t with the slippers still on, "I'm getting better & better dealing with insects, especially the ones that fly."

Then, she walked away saying, "I should have completed my biology course. I would have known better ways to deal with them."

Daniel looked at her retreating back & suddenly felt like whether to cry or laugh. He shook his head with a silly smile on his face & made his way to the kitchen to prepare her favorite breakfast.

Meanwhile, inside Alice's bedroom

She slammed the door hard, huffed & plummeted on the bed. She picked up her phone when she saw the notification light glowering at her. She saw a message & missed calls from Cath. She sighed & the phone screen lit up.

"Are you free tonight? Let's watch 'A day in Spring'."

Alice was happy & replied, "Okay!"

Cath texted back, "Be in your best costume tonight!"

"Sure, you too!" Alice replied back, "Can I bring Dan with me?"

"Yeah! I'll be bringing someone too."

"Eh? Who is it?" Alice completed it with an emoji raising its brow.

"You'll see when you come."

"Huh! I'll die from too much suspense."

"Go die! Shoo!"

"How can you be so mean?" A sad emoji was attached to it.

"Only to you my sweetie." Cath ended it with a smirking emoji.

Alice flew out of the room like the wid eagle she was. Daniel saw her running downstairs & realized that she was in a very good mood today & he smiled. He knew that whenever he was around she was the adorable puppy but to the outside world she was the cunning fox.

She flew into his arms like a chick running to its mother, "Danny Boy!"

"Huh?" Daniel quirked an eyebrow, "What did you say?"

"Danny boy!" she smiled & poked her index finger into his stomach, "Danny Boy, will you go watch a movie with me?"

Daniel couldn't help but smile. Seeing him smile, Alice jumped with joy, "Yeah! My Danny boy agreed to go! Woohoo!"

Saying so, Alice jumped about in the living room while Daniel looked at her with a stunned expression. He broke into a smile before pulling her in for a kiss.
