Lyricist: Her Revenge

Eddie opened her eyes with much struggle. The surroundings were unfamiliar. She only remembered being hit by a car. She tried sitting up & felt a large hand supporting her. She saw Jake's smiling face appearing before her. The memories of that day ran through her mind. Jake & a bride entering the Civil Bureau Office. She slapped his hand away, "Why are you here?"

Jake was stunned, "Why?"

"You're married now. You're not allowed to touch other women", she spoke in a hoarse voice.

Jake was worried. Did she see him that day while crossing the road? which ended in her accident?

So, he said, "It's true. But I divorced her."

"Huh?", her soft brows scrunched, "Divorced?"

"That girl actually made my Grandpa suffer a heart attack on our date", he began explaining, "He thought his end was nearing. So, he decided to fulfill his best friend's promise of marrying me to his granddaughter."

"And?"

"I married her out of convenience. But, I came to know later that she's behind your accident. I exposed her in front of Grandpa & he made her sign the divorce papers."

Eddie's heart was filled with warmth as well as pain; warmth because Jake still cared about her, pain because he didn't share his burden with her which he'd promised earlier. She lowered her head, "How many days had I been sleeping?"

"Almost two weeks", Jake recounted.

"What?! Two weeks!", Eddie was alarmed. Her Elixir Fashion might have suffered because of her. Jake was relieved to see her usual self, "It's okay! You can manage it."

Just then, the door to the room opened & two tall figures entered. Eddie looked at them in awe. One was dashing & handsome while the other was delicate & graceful. Looking at them, she actually felt a bit jealous & she looked up at Jake beside her. Alice & Daniel took long strides & stood in front of her. Since Alice had hurried here after the show, she was still in her makeup, which made her look extra gorgeous.

"Hey! Were you shooting or something?", Eddie queried.

"Yep! I just came back from a reality show."

"Huh! Going to a reality show behind my back!", Eddie snorted.

"Hehehe!", Alice started laughing.

"How are you?", Daniel smiled at her warmly.

"I'm fine", Eddie found the lump in her throat to tight to bear.

Jake pulled her into a hug & planted a kiss on her crown.

That night

Alice called Amy to inform her that she wouldn't be returning. She was supposed to sleep with Eddie. But, she was already fast asleep. With nothing better to do, she browsed through her phone. Her Instagram was filled with discussions. After all, she made it to the headlines.

" ZACH REVEALS BEING CLA.S.SMATES WITH ALICE. ALICE CONFIRMS "

Her eyes darkened even more after seeing the comments people were passing. She was getting mentioned. Most of them were his fans. Crazy fans!

"How did he looked like when he was young?"

"He must be damn cute, right?"

"Evil dimwit? Is this your special nickname?"

"Tell us about his childhood?"

Alice threw away her phone with anguish.

"Nonsense!", she cursed inwardly.

Suddenly, the event of last night came to her mind & an imaginary light bulb appeared above her head. She picked up her phone again & dialed a number.

"Hello?", a warm voice could be heard on the other end of the phone.

"Hello, Granny!" , a smile spread across her face.

"My child, I saw your show today."

"Really? How was it?"

"My child is special. So, obviously, the show was special."

"Granny, I need your help", Alice lowered her voice.

"What is it? Any trouble?" , Granny was worried.

"Granny...", Alice glanced at the sleeping Eddie, "Have you ever seen my Mom?"

Granny was taken aback. But, nevertheless answered her, "Yeah, why do you ask?"

"Do you have any pictures of her?", Alice asked.

"No, but your Dad had. You can go & check at Blue Hills for the photos."

"..."

Realizing that she did a huge mistake, she quickly spoke, "Sorry, my child. I was just spewing nonsense."

Alice was silent for a moment before she answered, "It's okay. I'm fine."

"Okay, dear. You should go to bed now."

"Mm...good night!"

Alice hung up her phone & sighed. Speaking of Blue Hills, it only brought back painful memories. But it seems she really needs to go back there.
