Lyricist: Her Revenge

Chapter 40 - Her manager? (1)

The next morning

Pink Villa

Alice hurried to the living room as soon as she parked her Porsche outside. When she entered, she found Amy cooking in the kitchen. So, she immediately made her way to the counter & leaned in with a smile, "What's cooking?"

"Scrambled eggs!", Amy added with a smile.

"Shall I make my way to the table then?", Alice asked enthusiastically.

"Sure."

...

Within no time, Alice saw Amy bringing two plates & the steaming fry pan. She soon served the two plates & handed one to Alice. She took it happily, "Thank you!"

Amy just smiled & both of them dug in. Alice kept on smacking her lips because the food was too delicious, though simple.

While eating, Amy seemed to remember something & quickly left the table. But Alice didn't mind. Soon, she was back with a package in her hand, "Here!'

Alice curiously took it, "What is it?"

"A woman came to give this last night when you left", Amy explained. Alice scrunched her bros softly before she tore open the package. The moment she pulled out the photo frame, she shoved it inside & her face grew paler.

Amy noticed this, "What happened? You look pale."

"Nothing!", she stood up from the table.

"Hey! You didn't finish your breakfast."

"I'm not hungry", Alice spoke, "Will you go to the Blue Hils with me?"

"Blue Hills?", Amy asked.

"Yeah, that's my hometown."

"Okay!"

"Get ready", Alice quickly fled the scene.

Amy felt that something was wrong but didn't think much about it.

...

Alice shut the door as she entered her room. Then, she pulled out the photo frame from the packet. Her heart was thumping loudly. In the photo was a family picture of three. Her Dad, & that woman! And in the woman's l.a.p is the baby Alice. She gulped slowly & put the package under her bed. Why? How? This photo didn't necessarily mean anything, right? She pushed those thoughts away & changed into a plain white tee & a black button down jeans.

She ran down the stairs to find Amy dressed in a pencil skirt and a crepe top.

"Let's go!", Alice spoke expressionlessly.

Amy nodded & followed behind. They drove out in a less flashy car.

...

On the way, they passed through many places that held places in her heart. One of them was the park she used to visit as a child. Her Dad used to accompany her. All those things made her a bit sad.

Never mind, it took half an hour to reach Blue Hills. The car soon drove into once a luxurious Mansion. It now resembled a haunted house.

"Why're we here?", Amy furrowed her brows.

"This was once my home", saying this, Alice got down from the car & ran towards the entrance. She quickly disappeared.

Amy, too hurried behind her only to find that no one was there in the living room. So, she could only stand there motionless.

...

Alice ran around the stairs, all round & round. When she finally found her Dad's room, she immediately hunted down the wardrobe & cupboards. She found a few family albums, but there were no pictures of her Mom. The rest she found were a few CDs, all written 'Memories' on them. She shoved them into her handbag. The most surprising fact about the CDs was that they were shoved into the messy corners of the cupboard. What she knew, her Dad was never a disorganized person. She fled from the room & hurriedly ran down the stairs, only to find Amy standing awkwardly at the entrance.

"Done?", she asked.

Alice nodded and followed her to the car. When she was about to enter the car, her phone rang & it flashed Daniel's name on it.

She quickly picked it up, "Hello?"

"Where are you?"

"Blue Hills. Why?"

"Come back quickly. You've to meet your new manager."

"Huh?",Alice was confused. Was he not her manager?

"I'll explain, once you come back."

Daniel quickly hung up on her. Just then, Amy's phone rang & she excused herself. Alice was still contemplating what she heard.

Her manager? Where did that come from?
