Love Is Sweeter Second Time Around

Nobody expected that Gao Yishen would react like that, not even Yiu Chunxiu. There were rumors about him that he was a stone, he wouldn't nudge even if you showed him the most beautiful woman in the earth. They all thought it was because he was captivated with the only daughter of Mu Family, but a woman from Yiu Family was able to move the rock. Did they just witnessed a miracle?

Even those who were not part of initial crowd became intrigued. All of them were aware that for Gao Yishen nothing else matter except when it concerns his company and his family, so they wanted to know who caused Gao Yishen to raised his voice and asked about an engagement.

Yiu Chunxiu raised her head and stared at him with straight face, "Yes CEO Gao. I am already engaged."

The man before her was the person she loved more than anything else in the world. She looked at his features again, it was all the same. The man who held her, made her the happiest girl in the world and dreamed with her to achieve their goals. He promised her he would always be by her side. She thought that they would continue living like that but reality led them to stray from the things they dream of.

She had promised herself countless times already that she would disregard her feelings and memories about him, and it would be the last time she would hold into her feelings for him. But this time, for real, she would move on.

It was fate that brought them to severed their ties, then she would prove that she can lived happily even if she didn't choose this life. Her happiness wasn't just about her love and dreams, she could be happy with just living a peaceful life. Harmony could be the key for her happiness.

Both of them were so engrossed with their thoughts as they look at each other, they didn't even hear nor see anything around them. Before they knew it, people started to assuming that it wasn't the first time they met.

They knew that both of them were the pride of the architecture department. The two was also famous couple inside the university. There was even a time when they topped the university's couple of the year. However, after that year, they hadn't hear anything about the two. The couple disappeared like a bubble. They only knew what happened to Gao Yishen since he was always in the news but for Yiu Chunxiu, there was nothing. If they didn't attended the ball, they wouldn't be even aware that the woman was still alive and was a daughter of a distinguished family. They also couldn't comprehend why the two of them broke up. They were the perfect and ideal couple during their university days that everyone envied. Now they acted as if this was the first time they met each other. Present couldn't really predict future.

It was Gao Yishen who first diverted his gaze, his pitched black eyes were lifeless, "I see. Congratulations on you engagement Ms. Yiu. I hope you'll have a happy marriage life." His jaw clenched.

It was after Gao Yishen spoke, she was woken up from her thoughts.

She wanted Gao Yishen to know that everything about them should stay in the past. They wouldn't speak of it to anyone. If they met again, they would just be acquaintances. If they had to eat on the same table again, they would act like they were friends but nothing more.

She wished her brother would also respect her decision, she didn't want Gao Yishen to know about Yuntian. She had been with Gao Yishen for almost two years, she could already somehow comprehend that just like her, he hasn't let go of their past. When she said that she was already engaged, his eyes shouted that he d.e.s.i.r.es to get back together with her, she just showed him the resolve that she never get back again with him through her eyes. She could deduced what he would do if he discovered that they had a child, she would continue pursuing her and that's the last thing she want.

The forgotten Xi Ming slowly escape from the crowd. He had been so ambitious, he kept pursuing the young mistress of Yiu family to met his grandson only to find out that she was already engaged. She got ahead of himself thinking that he could persuade the lady instead he embarrassed himself in front of a huge crowd. Thankfully, he was able to get himself out of the circle without anyone noticing.

People took a while before they recovered from the scene they had witness. It wasn't exactly a huge but it involves Gao Yishen. Everybody knew that he wasn't the type to concern himself into other people businesses. Even more so, it was the daughter of Yiu family that he got involved with. They all thought that this was their first time to meet each other however base on their interaction they look like they already meet each other before the banquet. They didn't want to read more into the it but they couldn't help but wonder about the relationship of the two people.

After Gao Yishen finished his talk to her brother. Even though Yiu Chunxiu was surrounded with people, she saw him through her peripheral vision when he isolated himself in the corner of the banquet hall. He looked refined as he stand while swirling the wine glass. The looked aloof with the dark expression on his face. He was sulking! If it was before, she would laugh at him, it was different now though. There were a lot of men and women wanted to used the once in a lifetime chance to talk to him but didn't dared to approach him, probably because the people knew that if they spoil his mood more, they would suffer from it.

Yiu Chunxiu let him be and focused to other people who wanted to meet her. Although she was surrounded by buzzing people she never let anything escape her ear. She heard people the murmur about her and Gao Yishen. Although nothing actually happen, the people around her were starting to create speculations about the relationship.

This was the reason why she dislike participating in social gatherings. She would met a lot of socialites who would praise people like a god and goddess during the gathering. They would side with whatever the person says in order for them to get that person's graces but behind the person's back, they would spread make-believed rumors. Unknowingly, the society would look at you as if you were unscrupulous person. How despiteful! The people in these circle would bring you down so they could life themselves. A gullible person would be easily crushed by the games of two-faced people.

She wished to stay away from the circle but she was going to be wed soon. She needed to have a placed on the society and earn their respect. She wasn't just ordinary heiress, she was the daughter of Yiu family and the future mistress of Zuo family.
