[Hm? Xiao Jing? What happen?] Mingyue had gotten close to her destination, but there was something wrong with Xiao Jing. It was not like Xiao Jing disappeared or wounded, but she didn't have any response. It's more like her connection to Mingyue was silenced. It had never happened before.

Feeling something wrong, Mingyue told Xiao Wu to go faster.

When they arrived, Mingyue could see a big bird covered in blood in front of her. It was a big bird with a long neck and a wide tails. Yes, the bird was similar to a peac.o.c.k, except the bird was currently painted in her own blood.

But Mingyue didn't have the leisure to appreciate the beauty of the deep-green-coloured peac.o.c.k. Right in front of that peac.o.c.k, Xiao Jing just stood there without doing anything. Mingyue was confused by the unresponsive Xiao Jing as she came closer to her.

"Hm? Another visitor?" A melodious voice could be heard from the deep-green-coloured peac.o.c.k. "Human? Well, it is very rare."

Since Mingyue didn't smell any scent of danger, she chose to go to Xiao Jing as she checked on Xiao Jing's condition first.

[The matter of the bird would go later.] Was what Mingyue thought.

"Xiao Jing? Xiao Jing!" Mingyue tried to call Xiao Jing via telepathy, but she didn't reply at all. Xiao Jing didn't have any reaction even after Mingyue moved Xiao Jing's body into her embrace.

"Xiao Jing! Hey! Are you okay!" Mingyue called for Xiao Jing repeatedly. Even though she was not using telepathy, there was no reaction from Xiao Jing. No answer. No reaction at all. Mingyue was dreaded by the sudden event.

"What happened? Why did she not answer?" Mingyue embraced Xiao Jing tightly, fearing that she would disappear. She stroked Xiao Jing's cheek and head. The usual Xiao Jing would hiss at her, but the current Xiao Jing didn't react at all!

Xiao Jing's body was a little stiff. There was no any wound at her physical body or her connection with Mingyue. Even if there was something happened to her, Mingyue would be the first one to know about it thanks to that connection.

[There was nothing wrong on her physical body. There was nothing wrong with the connection between me and Xiao Jing. So, what is wrong with her?]

"No, Xiao Jing, please. . . " Mingyue felt despair. She was confused and didn't know what to do. She held Xiao Jing in her embrace and checking what was wrong with her familiar.

[No! don't leave! I don't want to be left alone!] Mingyue couldn't think clearly because of her fear.

Even though she was sad, Mingyue didn't mind that other people hated her, like the people at the Academy. As long as she had everything she cares in her embrace, she would be fine even if the whole world disliked her, or even disdain her. But Xiao Jing, her familiar, is one of the things she doesn't want to lose.

"Hm? Is that your thing?" A melodious voice could be heard.

"YOUR THING YOUR GRANDPA! SCRAM!!!" Unconsciously, Mingyue screamed at the peac.o.c.k and returned all of her attention to Xiao Jing.

". . . Oh, I think I understand the misunderstanding here." The peac.o.c.k was muttering to herself.

Then suddenly Xiao Jing regained her freedom.

"RUN!" Xiao Jing shouted directly and tried to jump out of Mingyue's embrace. She didn't realize that she was in Mingyue's embrace.

Unlike Xiao Wu, Xiao Jing was capable to communicate via telepathy and directly from her mouth. Mingyue didn't know the reason even until now. But to avoid any attention, Mingyue forbids Xiao Jing to talk directly.

"AW!" Mingyue who was hugging Xiao Jing's body was surprised by the sudden action of Xiao Jing. Mingyue fell on her b.u.t.t.

Surprised by the sudden freedom that she regained, Xiao Jing just realized that Mingyue was sitting behind her. When she turned her head to look around, Xiao Jing saw Mingyue was staring at her. In Mingyue's eyes, there were surprise, confusion, sadness, and a tear almost fell.

But because Xiao Jing didn't forget the peac.o.c.k, Xiao Jing immediately stood in front of that peac.o.c.k to cover Mingyue from its vision. Alas! Xiao Jing's body was too small.

"Hey, why did you do it!" Mingyue was angry at Xiao Jing's sudden movement. But there were more of happiness and relief in her tone.

But Xiao Jing didn't dare to lower her wariness. Even though she understood that their difference was too big, she had to cover for Mingyue.

Mingyue knitted her eyebrow. "What clearly happened here?"

But the peac.o.c.k continued, "Since you are not one of the residents, you are free to do what you want. Since that mean I won't implicate any of you. There is no rule about the outsiders."

"Er, so what you mean is something weird earlier thanks to you?" Mingyue tried to connect the dot.

"You can say it like that." The peac.o.c.k confirmed Mingyue's guess

"Then, why did you able to talk directly?"

". . . Why did you think so?" The peac.o.c.k rolled her eyes. She was clearly baffled by the sudden question.

"Are you a high tier Fierce Beast?" Mingyue tried to dig more information.

"Yeah, I was a tier seven Fierce Beast. What of it?"

"I heard that high tier Fierce Beast was capable of human's speech and wisdom. Am I right?"

"Yeah. Not all of them have the same capability of human speech, but most of us were capable of it." The deep-green-coloured bird explained.

"Then why are you so stupid?" Mingyue asked with an irritating tone. "You are clearly capable of human's speech, but there is no wisdom at all. Don't you know you could kill an innocent passerby? You even tried to implicate Xiao Jing. Humph."

"OHOKK..." The peac.o.c.k who heard Mingyue's question coughed out some blood. The real blood.

Thanks to the weird accusation from Mingyue, the peac.o.c.k couldn't hold her internal injury.

"If you are willing to hear my Xiao Jing's word, would you implicate the innocent?" Mingyue puffed her cheeks while glaring at the peac.o.c.k.

". . . Sorry." The peac.o.c.k answered in a low voice while gritting her teeth. It had spent many years of its life doing many things, but this was the first time the peac.o.c.k was saying sorry to someone. Fortunately, the peac.o.c.k believed that she was a rational-minded, so she didn't care about the complicated things.

"Un, that's right. If you are wrong, make sure to say sorry. At least you are educated." Mingyue said with a content face. She thought that if only all Fierce Beast was as educated as the peac.o.c.k. But even so, Mingyue didn't want to forgive the peac.o.c.k easily. At least, she wanted to vent as much as possible.
