The bizarre situation in front of Xiao Jing was not something she was expecting. Many kinds of Fierce Beast walked together in one direction.

No one fight, no one made sounds. They came from many places, but their destination was the same.

"Sigh, why did you have to ask me to peek their meeting?" Xiao Jing grumbled in her mind. She really didn't understand the reason why Mingyue asked her to follow them.

For Xiao Jing, this situation was kind of bizarre. She wanted to avoid this place if possible. Unfortunately, Mingyue didn't let her return unless she was in danger.

[At least, that girl didn't come here lest she made troubles again.] Xiao Jing grumbled in her mind.

"Don't forget to send what you see there." Mingyue's voice could be heard inside Xiao Jing's mind.

Telepathy, the unique ability that Xiao Jing had as Mingyue's familiar. It was a very convenient ability because not only Mingyue could exchange information from different places, one party could send the image she saw to the other party. To sum it up, Xiao Jing could send her voice, an image that she was looking at, or even she could send what she saw and heard.

Based on Mingyue, this telepathy ability was based on her Immortal Soul which had a strong connection with her familiar. This way, they didn't need the usage of Elemental for telepathy. A very convenient ability.

"Humph. . . " Xiao Jing was sulking because she felt that this was a suicide mission.

"Sigh, you silly girl. If you feel something wrong, just return with all you have. I won't let you jump into the pit of fire because of my curiosity, you know?" Xiao Jing could hear Mingyue's nagging voice.

". . . Fine. I will move now." In the end, Xiao Jing just followed her direction.

Since those Fierce Beasts were walking leisurely, Xiao Jing didn't dare to be rash. She followed their walking speed while moving around to see the exact number of the Fierce Beast. Unfortunately, she didn't have the leisure to count. She could barely see their destination.

In the middle of a bunch of Fierce Beast, there is a cliff. A tall cliff.

[It turned out these Fierce Beasts destination was the bottom area of the cliff. But, what is there for them to gather here? Treasure? It shouldn't be. Is their leader calling them? I am not sure.] Xiao Jing could hear Mingyue's muttering in her mind.

Xiao Jing immediately jumped into the shadow of a tall tree. A taller place should provide a wide view of this place.

"Hmm, the cliff is not very tall, one should see what above the cliff. Hm? What is that?" Mingyue was observing via Xiao Jing's vision. Following Mingyue's muttering, Xiao Jing focused her vision on the cliff.

There were two huge birds standing on the left and right cliff. Mingyue and Xiao Jing were surprised. But the reason for their surprise was another thing.

"You damned Jade-Crystal Silver Eagle! You dare to use such trickeries!" A loud voice full of anger could be heard from the top of the cliff.

"What? What trickeries? Do you not the one who proposes this fight in this place? Why are you throwing tantrum at us now?" The other voice was full of contempt and sneers.

"Then release my son!"

"Son? Whose son? Ah, maybe you mean this burnt chicken, maybe? Hahaha." Something was thrown from the top of the cliff.

"NO!" A big shadow jumped from the top of the cliff. It was a huge deep-green-coloured bird. This bird was trying hard to catch her son. With her speed, the deep-green-coloured bird should be able to catch it timely. But alas, the fate was playing with her.

From above the cliff, Xiao Jing, Mingyue, and all other Fierce Beasts at the bottom side of the cliff could see it. A few shadows fly down with an extreme speed aiming for the deep-green-coloured bird. Unaware of its own predicament, the deep-green-coloured bird tried her best to catch her son with her claw. Fortunately, the deep-green-coloured bird could save her son in exchange of those fierce attacks were aimed to her wings.

From Xiao Jing's position, Mingyue could see it clearly. A bunch of blue-coloured-bird with silver wing was attacking that deep-green-coloured bird fiercely.

The deep-green-coloured bird couldn't save herself. She fell to the ground while protecting her son.

"Hahahaha! The Amazing Sky King was scared to fight on death-or-life ceremony? I, the ruler of Jade-Crystal Silver Eagle race, am willing to lead my race to punish you, who was running away from the ceremonial fight!" A sinister voice that was capable to freeze one soul was heard.

"And now, I, the king of Jade-Crystal Silver Eagle am willing to take the post of the Sky King of Cloudy Mist Forest!"

"And you! As the loser! Also as the rule-breaker! I, as the new Sky King, will enact the rules for you! You will be left to die! Alone! Your Body will rot to the earth as your repentance!

Even though many of the Fierce Beasts was disgusted by such shows, but they were in a proper death-or-life ceremony with the stake of the position of the Sky King. Anyone who was running away from the ceremony before the ceremony itself was concluded, would be crippled and left to rot alone.

Even though it was won by trickery, no one dared to show contempt to the new Sky King. But in exchange, no one was willing to look at the new Sky King. One by one the Fierce Beast left the bottom area of the cliff. The ceremony had finished. They were unwilling to look at the new Sky King and unable to offer support to the fallen Sky King. With the heavy heart, they had to acknowledge the rule of the ceremony.

Unlike the Fierce Beasts, Mingyue told Xiao Jing to stay for a while. Even though she was disgusted by the antics of the new Sky King, she wanted to look at the fallen deep-green-coloured bird.

After some time, no one was left at that place. Mingyue asked Xiao Jing to check the perimeter while she came with Xiao Wu.

"No! You promised!" Xiao Jing was mad. Even though the Fierce Beast had already left, that doesn't mean that Mingyue would be able to arrive safely.

"Don't worry, just be vigilant around there. I will arrive shortly." Mingyue didn't care about Xiao Jing's rebuttal. It just proved her care for Mingyue.

"Why are you forcing yourself to come here?" Xiao Jing could only knit her eyebrow. As usual, Mingyue didn't want to hear her request.

". . . I feel bad for the mother bird." Mingyue's voice was so soft that Xiao Jing almost didn't hear her words.

". . . Fine. Just be sure to be safe." Sighing, Xiao Jing couldn't help to be soft-hearted to Mingyue. Ever since she felt the disordered feeling of Mingyue at that time, she had been feeling guilty.

That was the first time and only time that she saw her owner as someone with a fragile heart. Even more fragile than Xiao Wu. Thus, she didn't dare to force her opinion anymore.

[Sigh, it is so hard to be a babysitter.] Xiao Jing muttered silently.

"We almost arrived" Xiao Wu made her report.

After telling Xiao Jing to be vigilant, Mingyue immediately told Xiao Wu to go to that place. Fortunately, they could avoid some Fierce Beast on the way and didn't attract any attention.

Mingyue nodded her head and kept looking forward.

"Xiao Jing, we almost arrived. Can you get closer to that deep-green-coloured bird? Try to lower its vigilance."

". . . Why do I have to do something troublesome?" She could hear Xiao Jing's grumbling voice.

"Don't you remember that I am a human? What do you think if a human suddenly gets closer to a Fierce Beast?" Mingyue was nagging at Xiao Jing.

"Humph. . ." Xiao Jing came out from the place she had hidden her herself. She jumped down from the tree, then she took a few steps closer and stopped.

In front of Xiao Jing was a big bird that was very similar to a peac.o.c.k. It was a beautiful sight if there was no any trace of a fight on its body. If she could stand straight, its height should be more than two times of the tall tree Xiao Jing used to hide earlier. If the bird could spread her wings, she would be much bigger. Alas, her wings were beyond recognition. The bones itself was broken into different shapes. The streamed out blood had stopped, but the bird lost a large amount of blood. More than half of her body was coloured by her own blood. Her body considerable weakened.

After Xiao Jing jumped down from the tree, the deep-green-coloured bird's eyes were opened wide. The originally closed eyes, now the bird was looking straight at Xiao Jing.

"Oh? Why did you come down? Are you not scared by the punishment?" A beautiful voice could be heard by Xiao Jing, unlike the earlier voice that contained so much hatred, the peac.o.c.k's voice was much more beautiful.

But unlike her beautiful voice, all Xiao Jing felt was dread. They were in a different league. It was as if something big was pressuring something small. She couldn't feel her own body as her body froze while standing in front of the wounded bird.

But she suddenly felt that Xiao Wu and Mingyue were close by.

[No! Don't come here!] She wanted to shout it loud, but she was unable to do anything.

[No! No! Please no! RUN!]

But it was too late. Mingyue almost arrived.
