Although he had put most of his effort into practising and learning magic, that didn't make him an utter novice when it came to swordsmanship.

Although it wouldn't be as good as that of people who had focused on swordsmanship, Xander still believed that the swordsmanship he learned and that had been passed down in his family would be better than that of a complete commoner!

The two young men walked to each other and went to the centre of the training hall when Mr. Stevens came to the side to officiate the duel.

Since both parties have agreed to the duel and have both agreed to the trips of conditions set beforehand, the duel can now begin!"

As soon as the duel started, Xander drew his sword and dashed towards Lucius.

Lucius's eyes narrowed as he solidified his stance to meet his attack

"Bang!"

The two wooden swords clashed loudly.

As the two swords met, Xander's face changed slightly.

From the exchange, he could feel that Lucius had a slight upper hand when it came to physical strength.

But Xander's heart didn't have too many waves. From the time he agreed to Lucius's favourable conditions, he had already been prepared for this.

Stepping to the side, Xander's sword shot out, causing Lucius to swing out quickly to block it.

But for Xander, this was just the start.

Xander pressed forward, his sword swirling like a storm pressing Lucius backwards slightly.

As the fight was going on, Lucius's face was a little ugly.

The Sword technique Xander was using obviously wasn't the Sanctuary sword style. It had to be the one he inherited from the Caldwell family.

It was at this moment that Lucius realised just how arrogant he had been.

The years of sword training and practice and proper teaching were not something that Lucius could make up for with his few weeks of practice.

Xander couldn't be compared to those no name bandits that he had killed before.

Those were just farmers and peasants or conscripts before they became bandits.

If Xander had this much of an edge on him in swordsmanship, just how terrifying would those people with talents be?

Fortunately, his superior physique and instincts ingrained in the body, Lucius could still hold on without embarrassing himself.

As the sword fight progressed, Lucius managed to hold, but as it went in for longer, Lucius found something strange.

Although he was suppressed in sword technique, he found that somehow, Xander's sword technique was somehow strangely static.

If he had to put it into words, it would be like Xander's swordsmanship was a wolf with a wild and ferocious appearance, but it lacked the final touch. Simply put, it had no fangs!

It was then that Lucius realised Xander's flaw.

'This guy has no combat experience!'

The way Xander was fighting now was to completely suppress his opponent with swordsmanship and overwhelm them.

Although it would take time, this was definitely the safest way to fight.

For nobles this would be the most common way they learned the sword and fought amongst themselves.

This was especially true for someone like Xander. He had no sword talent, so he must have learned the sword as a hobby which would naturally cause it to be filled with redundant habits.

In addition to this, even if he had to fight with his life on the line, he could just use magic. How would he be able to develop such a combat experience?

Such a thing was whether gained from experience or simple talent, and Xander was lacking in both

Besides, by now his bad habits were already set in.

Realising this, Lucius's crimson eyes flashed with a cruel light as a smile appeared on his face.

As long as he didn't conform to the pattern of regular noble sword fights, he could easily catch Xander off guard.

Lucius raised his sword to clash with Xander once again but this time as they backed off, Lucius intentionally stumbled revealing an obvious flaw.

Xander didn't even think about and lunged for the gap but it was in that moment that Lucius recovered, dodging the blow.

His wooden sword then flashed out, heading straight for Xander's throat.

Panicked, Xander quickly brought back his sword to protect himself, and that was when a vicious smile appeared on his face .

Whilst Xander was occupied on the sword, Lucius's foot shot out like a whip, kicking Xander straight in the shin!

"Arrrgh!!"

Even Lucius's foot that had made the kick was aching slightly so the pain Xander was feeling now could only be imagined.

Taking advantage of Xander's pain Lucius stepped forward and mercilessly elbowed him straight in the nose

Pain was shot through Xander's body to the point he couldn't even hold on to his sword anymore

'"Uh.. you!" mumbled Xander

But before he could even say any more Lucius was already at his side and without hesitation, kneed him in the stomach with all he had

Boom!

"Blurgh!"

Xander's eyes widened as his body curled up like a shrimp as he spit out a mouthful of spittle, completely winded.

Xander raised his head, hatred burning in his eyes, but before he could open his mouth, Lucius's sword appeared at his throat.

His crimson eyes looked down at him as a sneer appeared on his face

"It's my victory." Said Lucius

"…you!"

Xander gnashes his teeth as he was still left recoiling from the pain

"You don't even use a sword! How can you use such vulgar methods in a duel!"

"If you're going to break the rules then I may as well join you!"

As Xander spoke lightning crackled all over his body as a swirl of wind gathered at his feet.

But before Xander could act he was interrupted

Snort!

In that moment Mr. Stevens casually waved his sword.

Instantly the wind around was cut apart as the lightning around his body disappeared completely.

Xander was left stupefied as he just looked at Mr. Stevens, speechless.
