Xander was left stupefied as he just looked at Mr. Stevens, speechless.

"Mr Stevens, what is the meaning of this?" questioned Xander

"Humph! What do you think? I'm still here and you want to break the rules of the duel just because you lost."

Hearing this Xander exploded

"Lost?! How can you say I lost? He used illegal moves in the middle of a sword duel! He broke the rules!"

Seeing Xander like this, Mr Stevens just shook his head

"Tch! Tch! This is why you lost in the first place. Who said he couldn't kick and punch in the middle of a sword fight? The only thing banned in the fuel was the use of magic."

But.."

"But what?" countered Mr Stevens

"You don't seriously think that every fight and duel you'll be in will be solely the use of swords. In a fight, anything can be used and this would naturally apply to a duel as well.

I've seen people not only kick and punch in the middle of sword fights but even go even further and pull out all sorts of despicable means like throwing sand in their opponent's eyes or even using poison.

You all need to wake up.

Expecting your enemy to behave predictably and follow the 'rules' in a fight is simply asking to lose."

As Mr. Stevens said this, he turned away from Xander and looked at the rest of the students.

And this just doesn't apply to Xander but the rest of you too, especially you noble children.

You grow up too coddled.

Noble honour? class? etiquette? That nonsense simply doesn't exist in a fight.

Remember, although the Demon King has been killed, demons still exist and can still make trouble from time to time.

The people you have to fight after leaving Sanctuary won't just be humans but monsters and demons

Surely you don't expect a demon to pay attention to these so-called rules and etiquette?"

As Mr Stevens said this, he turned back to look at Xander.

"Hearing this, are you satisfied with my explanation?"

Although deep in his heart, Xander was still indignant he couldn't argue against Mr Steven's sane reasoning and just quietly nodded.

After seeing this, Mr. Stevens then turned towards Lucius

"And you Lucius," said Mr. Stevens

"Although tricks are useful during combat. You can't let this victory blind you. Xander surprised you for most of the fight. Tricks might help you once, twice, or even three times. But they'll come a time when your tricks fail and on the battlefield, at that point you will die horribly. Only your own strength and techniques are true power."

Hearing this, Lucius noises in agreement and bowed politely

"Thank you for the teaching Mr. Stevens."

Seeing that Lucius was so polite and happily told on his teachings, Mr. Stevens nodded, satisfied.

After that, Mr. Stevens used the opportunity to correct both Lucius and Xander on the mistake they had just shown during the sword duel, he even went on to use the duel as a further teaching point for the rest of the students.

After this, the students resumed their sparks. Naturally, with the bad blood between them, Lucius and Xander didn't partner up and instead found different sparring partners.

Fortunately, there were no more in incidents throughout the rest of the swordsmanship lesson, allowing it to end on time.

"Remember to practise hard for the next lesson at the end of the week. I'll personally test how far your Sanctuary Swordsmanship has progressed by then."

There was a collective groan from the group of students as they each left the training hall.

After the swordsmanship training, the group of students each went their own way.

A few of them also had other lessons to go and catch up with, fortunately, Lucius didn't have a lesson at this time.

He had a free period, so he decided to use it to fix one of the major flaws he had at the current moment in time and that was..

Mana.

Or more accurately, the lack of it.

For someone like Lucius, the best place to go if he wanted to fix his mana would be to go to the school library.

As the best place for his higher learning on the entire continent, Sanctuary's library would be second to only the magic towers and in terms of knowledge about fighters, it was even better than the magic tower.

Lucius walked through the hallways quietly, taking a few turns until he came before the library doors.

Lucius didn't have much to think about it and just walked straight inside.

As Lucius walked inside he could see the many rows of books and bookshelves inside the library making it seem almost like a maze.

Aside from these, in the centre of the library were several tables with students all reading books with extreme focus.

The studious air in this place was extremely high.

It could be certain that all the students gathered here were a bunch of hard workers.

Lucius took another quick scan of the place and slowly walked up to the desk with a librarian sitting behind it.

As Lucius got closer, he could get a better look at this librarian.

It was a black haired woman with a rather pretty face.

She had messy hair with a set of thin glasses resting on her nose.

As Lucius walked up to the counter, the Librarian who was focused on her book, eventually looked up. She took a moment to push back her glasses that were slightly slipping off her nose before showing a regular business smile.

"Hello! How can I help you today."

Lucius didn't bother talking too much and just showed him his lanyard

"Hero Class 1-17 Lucius. I would like to register for a library card."

Hearing this, the librarian's girl stood up straight and quickly started the process of registering Lucius as a member of the Sanctuary Library.

Thanks to him bringing his Sanctuary ID card the entire process was rather quick
