Forsaken By Love

The following morning, He Lixue woke up feeling energized. She felt as if she was on top of the world, and her entire being was radiating happiness.

However, she knew that although this happiness that Lu Nanfeng brought her was what she wanted in life, she still had some things that needed to be solved before she could find peace in her new life.

She had to make a clear break with the Organization, and make them understand that she had nothing to do with them any longer.

He Lixue was not a person who liked to drag her feet. Nor was she someone who was indecisive. 

If she previously had some lingering feelings of respect for Mo Yunhuang, she now had no goodwill towards him nor the Organization any longer.

But she would turn into a white-eyed wolf if she was the one to deal with them. After all, they had saved her in her previous life, and she was not in a position to destroy them.

Not knowing how to deal with them, He Lixue was getting a headache. Her brows were furrowed, and her teeth bit into her lower lip in distress.

This was the sight that greeted Lu Nanfeng as he came downstairs. He Lixue was seated on the couch, brows furrowed, and biting her lower lip. 

He did not need to think too much to know what He Lixue was contemplating, and his heart ached for her. He understood that she did not want to become someone who returned goodwill with ingratitude, but he also knew that she would never go back to the Organization, so it was not easy for her to find a solution.

"Dearest, don't worry," Lu Nanfeng said as he reached out his hand and c.a.r.e.s.sed her hair. "I will deal with the Organization. I will not make it a path of no return, but if they are dead set on getting you back, I will destroy them.

"Wen Sihan has always wanted to deal with the Organization, and I am helping him. This has nothing to do with you; you just happened to be there when we started acting." 

He Lixue's expression was somewhat complicated. She felt a need to protect the life she led now, and she wanted to stay by Lu Nanfeng's side, but was it really okay to see the Organization disappear from the face of the earth? 

"Do you think I am ruthless?" He Lixue suddenly asked Lu Nanfeng, her voice was trembling slightly, and her eyes lowered. 

"Why would I think that?" Lu Nanfeng asked, surprised. But when he saw how emotionally entangled she was, he understood that this was a difficult situation.

"I was saved by the Organization and owed them my life, but now, just because I died once, I am willing to see them destroyed. I am aware that I am coldblooded, and evil, but I just don't want anything to risk the peace and happiness I have now."

Lu Nanfeng heard her words, and he saw how she dared not even look him in the eye, her fingers were fiddling with each other, and her voice trembled.

"I don't think you are evil or coldblooded," Lu Nanfeng finally said with a sigh. "To protect your own happiness is something that anyone would do. I am also the same. My mother is the person who gave birth to me, I owe her my life, much like you do to the Organization. However, my mother is also against the two of us, and if she decides not to see things my way, then I do not mind falling out with her. 

"Although I love my mother and owe her a lot, she is not entitled to decide over my life. Just like the Organization cannot decide over yours. Although they have helped you previously, you paid them back, and now they have no right to determine your life or death."

He Lixue nodded her head, and her mind, which had been foggy for a long time, suddenly cleared up. Right, although she had owed the Organization before, she had already paid it back multiple times. 

Now that she wanted to live life for herself, no one apart for herself had the right to decide what she wanted. And what she wanted was to spend her life alongside Lu Nanfeng. 

Seeing her eyes clearing up like that, and that she stopped biting her lips, Lu Nanfeng felt relieved. 

He knew that while He Lixue was extremely disappointed in the Organization this time, he did not know whether or not she could fight back against them.

But now it seemed that she was determined to fight for their happiness. This made Lu Nanfeng relieved. He had feared that maybe he was not as important as the Organization in He Lixue's mind, but upon hearing her words, he knew that he was actually much more important than them, but she did not want him to see her as an ungrateful person.

 "Don't worry about the Organization, I will deal with them," Lu Nanfeng assured her, and He Lixue obediently nodded her head. 

"For the next couple of days, you will follow me everywhere I go," Lu Nanfeng continued. "I have hired a group of bodyguards through Wen Sihan, and they will ensure our safety. I dare not let you out of my sight for even a moment."

He Lixue chuckled dryly when she heard this. She knew that he was not joking, but it was not like she always ended up in trouble. However, she knew better than to argue against him right now. Her record of getting into trouble was quite bad.
