Ruth's team was clearing the underground facility quickly. They didn't find any clues about the survivor.

'Just where did it go? Even if he was dead, signs of struggle should be shown already by now. Unless this was a trap? '

With the possibility of being not low, she recalled all her men back into the central building. One soldier is running towards her.

"Captain bad news, a black figure is approaching our location. We need to leave immediately. I saw it from the security camera."

" You heard her."

Just as they started to move, they can hear footsteps from behind. This caused them to stop moving for a while before their commander reminded them.

''Don't look unless you want to die ''

The sewer is a confusing maze, she and her team lost sight of the monster but they also don't know where they are now. With no way of going back, they followed the water current to lead them to an exit. The contamination level increased as they went further, luckily, their special helmets protected them from the contamination gas.

Back at the laboratory facility, Hector and his team were gathering the evidence they found. The Republic Research Department has been conducting inhumane experiments for the past decades. The research facility was recently shut down because of the increasing threat of it being discovered by other parties.

"How's it going, Agent Marco?"

" I've already sent the digital data to High Command. I should be able to locate the physical evidence in a few minutes, Lieutenant Gregory."

"You're Getting the hang of it. I will inform the Captain, stay here."

"Captain Pavo, we are halfway through the security system. It will only be a minute before we find the location."

"Good, afterward have him search for the special records."

"Sir, are you going to report this to the Field Commander?"

"I was planning to, but he didn't seem interested in it as if something more important is already in his mind. I don't plan on disturbing him so I'll do it later. It's not like this is an emergency."

" True true, I'll get back to my post."

The captain sighed as she recalled his last words before he went alone to the mysterious door.

"Don't tell anyone where I'm going as I believe the path can only be accessed by one person at a time. Anymore than that then I'm afraid the system will gas us all."

As a military expert, he knew that the possibility of such a system being put in place was not low. He had experienced it when he was still an agent of a task force, his team told him to leave them behind when they were being chased by an unstoppable horde of monsters. While they didn't share many experiences, he knows they had kind hearts. When the lift door was closed, he could still hear the screams of his friends being eaten alive by the monster. It enjoyed eating at a slow pace to torture it's victims.

'Hopefully, he comes back safely. I forgot that only in life and death will others begin to truly accept each other.'

When he was still daydreaming a little, bullets were shot not far from her location. He got her radio up and asked the situation to the Lieutenant.

{What's your twenty?}

{Everything's fine except the gunshot I bet you've heard as well. I sent the men down there to investigate.}

{Use caution. It might be the monster.}

{Now that you mention, the other team hasn't been sending us messages lately. Did they get into trouble?}

{Follow standard procedure at the moment. I'll get the Commander. }

He wasn't technically lying so she didn't feel much guilt. Saying otherwise would just panic the soldiers.

'It should be time for him to come out now'

"I'm back, how are things going?"

Captain Pavo turned around to see that Hector is in fine condition. There were only a few scratches on his armor, but that's about it.

'To be able to dodge those extreme lasers is impossible. Did he deactivate it? No wonder the Bureau recruited him personally'

"I have already instructed them to follow standard procedure. We should be getting some response from the Lieutenant. However, we were unable to communicate with any members of Beta-9. I have dispatched 3 men to investigate it."

" And any report about the entity?"

"No sign. All of the past recordings we found were invisible shadows."

"Invisible Shadows...Shadows... Crap, get them to group here now !"

"Wouldn't that just stop our investigation?"

"It's weakness is light. Else how can it not be discovered by barely anyone? Most likely our enemies are the demons"

" I understand. I will relay it to the others."

{This is Alpha-2 Command to all units, regroup at the laboratory. If you are unable to reach it, head for the entrance point. The operation has been deemed too dangerous to proceed any further.}

{This is Lieutenant Gregory, I read you loud and clear. We lost contact with Lieutenant Vallerie's team. Requesting orders}

{ Don't move from your current location. We are on our way.}

"Are you sure about this, Commander? Not that I question your experience or anything but."

" Do we have a choice? I'm sure you don't want to see feel desperate as your friends die in front of your eye anymore don't you?"

The words Hector said to his leave her stunned. How could he have known his experience? He didn't mention that part in her report. Does this person has a genuine heart or is he just doing it for possible achievements? While he was concerned about his true motive, there is no time for thinking. Since he was his superior, he decided to follow him anyway. He noticed that Hector didn't have any other weapon besides a pistol and a knife yet he was able to stay calm the whole time. His black metal exoskeleton armor is a special design, at the back of it, he saw a small unique code number written with scratches.

'X01, I've never heard an ID starting with the letter X. I will ask the Task Force Commander later'

Hector may have looked calm on the surface, but he was scared of what happened inside the path he walked in through. If it wasn't for a voice that was telling him to go in and warning him about the dangers of his journey, he might have retreated already to the backline. When he stepped inside, the view suddenly changed into a beautiful garden that slowly changed into white and black. Approximately 13 black portals appeared in front of Hector, slowly revealing 13 dark figures. His predictions weren't wrong, the one behind this madness is indeed the dark force.

"Welcome to the soul battlefield young one. This place will be your tomb like the generations before you."

"We will see about that!"

In a flash, Hector's armor changed into a crusader. The holy aura emitting from him, however, was much purer. His transformation caused temporary blindness to the dark warriors.

"Warrior of God, prepare to feel the wrath of hell!"

While they were dashing towards Hector, several figures emerged from bright light and began shooting holy bullets. While the holy bullet is not yet powerful, it was still good enough to handle the lesser minions. Upon contact with the bullet, the demonic body staggered and had difficulty standing back up properly.

"What devil sorcery is this? You dare to use cheap tricks!"

"There is no such thing as cheap in the face of Judgement !"

With the dark warriors stunned, they switched to incinerator mode and equip their holy flamethrowers. The dark warriors can't tell what kind of weapon it is, but they know judging from the holy aura it is emitting, it was powerful enough to destroy their souls. Since they can't escape, they will fight to the death. The frontline dark warriors were completely burned. Just as the white flames were about to spread to the backline, it was stopped by a powerful dark flame.

"Kid, don't think about leaving this place with that tiny power of yours. Today is the day you die!"

The dark figure gave hope to the remaining demons. This was none other than Dark Knight Juli. She has recently managed to break through a realm. Their opponent most likely will only be able to defend against a Dark Guardian. The power difference between each realm was very high, only a few genii managed to overcome the difference. There were a few things they weren't expecting. Hector was experiencing a breakthrough right in front of their eyes. A golden bubble shield enveloped around him, separating him from what seems to be a mortal and divine world.

'Is our luck over? We can't stop one blessed with the protection shield.'

Hector's appearance soon changed, it was still the same, except it has much more golden decoration. Trying out his new power, he struck the air with his sword, creating an energy wave, splitting the demons. Since the era of medieval is over, Hector switched back to rifle form and began shooting rapidly at Julia. Julia is an experienced fighter, blocking bullets with her shield and deflecting them with her sword is no hard task. The destruction of the small battle caused their companions to standby and watch. They simply feel useless in the battle, what they do won't change anything. This is the horrible truth they had to face.
