Executor Of Justice

Chapter 10 - Unexpected Enemy Savior

The battle went on a rapid pace, neither of them showing signs of tiredness. They wanted to scold their subordinates for not helping them, but then again what purpose do they have in a fight between a higher realm. It was much more beneficial to not lose any more men. Julia was deflecting all of Hector's shots accurately and steadily making progression.

'Since she's used to normal attacks, I'll use a more complex one.'

Changing the weapon form to a shotgun, Hector threw multiple grenades before charging towards her.

'Is he mad? Why would he charge towards me with his weapon? Doesn't matter, I'll just kill him, anyway'

Julia stuck her sword towards Hector normally, only to be bombarded by random shots. She couldn't tell where it was coming from because of the holy smoke gas that was thrown previously.

'I hate these damn holy warriors.'

She changed her sword to a great sword and began to swirl around with it, creating an AOE attack. With it being in place, Hector can no longer continue his attack method.

'She's such a clever one, no wonder the regular demon force could conquer some nations in the past'

Hector wanted to try if a holy attributed flashlight would do anything. He switched on the flashlight attachment and pointed it towards Julia.

While Dark Knight Julia received some damage, it wasn't effective at stopping her movement.

"Looks Like you're out of tricks. It's my turn now."

Julia chanted a spell, creating a red-green aura shield in front of her. Hector could feel the strength of the shield, it was not meant for defending but attacking! A black hole opened in the middle of the shield and began firing green lasers. The rapid-fire didn't give Hector to dodge all of them, someone badly injured him.

[You've been critically injured. Switching combat style to defense.]

'I wish I can heal like those priests in-game. Did they do it by asking God?'

As Hector began imagining the scene, a notification popped up.

Heal]

'Heal!'

The nearby dark warriors who saw the opportunity wanted to strike him down but the sudden light that appeared stunned them.

' A Hybrid? We can't win this battle all right! '

Understanding the dark warrior thoughts, Julia started to plan their retreat. Letting the enemy visit their base was the same as committing reason regardless of any reason. They deemed it better to die in the hands of your enemy. When the dark warriors started to cover her as she chants magic, they can hear a loud voice.

"Who says you can retreat? Fight!"

Several dark portals appeared, bringing a great dark figure in view.

'Dark Bearer Jerome? What is he doing here with his knights?'

"It looks like you've grown weak my friend. Do you need any help?"

"Noone needs your help, loser!"

"I will watch your performance then"

It was not a secret that there was a fight between the two. Julia executed one of Jerome's brother during a battle for using the troops as his enjoyment. Jerome demanded the Dark Council to turn sentence her but they rejected and claimed that it was the right thing to do. Naturally, with many eyewitnesses on the scene, Jerome couldn't care less but the opponent she had to face was something. Thinking that their opponent wouldn't attack them, Jerome lowered his guards only to find his hand missing.

'The hell? What happened?'

Several white figures can be seen as hovering. It was the Holy Church's Paladins and High Priests. While their numbers were short, it was good enough to drive the demons away.

"Retreat retreat! They have a Paladin with them."

Jerome ordered the retreat as there was no hope to win the battle. No reinforcements would be able to save them on time. The demons picked up their foot and ran to the dark portals like chickens. When Julia was about to enter the portal, it closed and a voice whispered to her in a sarcastic tone: "I'm sorry, I ran out of magic power. Hope you survive."

This leaves Julia alone in the battle. The Holy Church members were eager to kill her. Many of their comrades have died under her hands. She is one of the most wanted knights. Killing her will surely be an honorable thing to do for the world.

Five crusaders were brandishing their sword and shield while the five priests were chanting their holy magic. A voice echoed throughout the ruin of the grand hall.

"Stop! I won't allow you to destroy her."

"Please, this is for the sake of the world. It will be a better place without her."

"Don't you dare!"

Seeing this as the perfect chance to label the future Executor as a traitor, they set him up in a trap. They didn't want someone to rise in the ranks as fast as him.

"Blasphemy! You have been corrupted by the darkness. Crucify him!"

"It will be done Paladin Captain."

Julia was confused about Hector's actions. She was his enemy so why did he protect her? Besides her masters who showed little to no love, there was not much affection she has ever received. While the Holy Church influence isn't as big as it used to be, it remains one of the strongest powerhouses beside the Demon.

Julia was drowned into her emotions and touched by his actions. The darkness in her heart began changing into a light, one that is bright enough to purify the dark. Her long black hair changed to a golden goldilocks. Her black eyes changed to an azure blue. Her dark armor changing into golden-white. This scene shocked the member of the Holy Church.

'Did a Devil just changed to an Angel? Impossible. '

The angelic wings soared through the sky and merged with Julia's body. The white and dark color changed into a white and gold one. The battle scene was now breathtaking.

Job: Holy Marshal]

While the Church does have strong warriors, their poor technique has flaws that render them useless in the face of a purer power. That was the case with the current scenario. The Paladin Captain know this fact and hesitated in continuing the attack. Even if they get out of the situation alive, the Pope would expel them and deem them corrupted. Silencing all the witnesses was the best option available.

"Kill them all, it's the only way out.'"

"Charge!"

There was a huge gap of pure power between Hector's team and the Church's Force. However, the quality of it was different. Being blessed with God's gift, Hector and his team used a special skill. They purchased a skill scroll from the store and used it together.

A giant light flashed brightly towards the ground, scorching the area. What's left of the Holy Church members was their equipment and the corrupt leader, Paladin Captain Bailey Burgess. He attached his sword to the stone ground to resist the attack.

[Name: Bailey Burgess

Job: Holy Church's Paladin Captain

Battle Power: P-6

Health: Low]

Right now, being surrounded by the true force of God, Bailey started to regret his actions. He was tempted by the offer a mysterious man promised him. He promised that if he succeeds in the mission, he can have anything he wanted, including reviving the dead. His beloved childhood friend, Ruby Potts, died in a car accident when they were still a teenager. The driver was drunk and smashed the car in her direction. Despite the public critics on him, due to his influential position, the culprit was set free. The local government even issued a gag order to its citizens to not reveal any information about the event. Fearing that their friends and families might be used as a threat, they stopped protesting. Seeing the holy sword of judgment being a swing to his body, Bailey felt happy. He will no longer be attached to this dirty world and be set free. Hector noticed that the notification was different this time.
