CEO Husband Please Be Refrained

Weekend.

Xia Weilan went to the Mo Corps with Mo Beichen.

Around noon, President He from the He Corps and two others in business attire, holding some documents, entered the conference room.

Mo Beichen went inside together with Xia Weilan. They took a seat across them and Mo Beichen signaled Xia Weilan to distribute the documents.

“President Mo, we’ve already been to three major shopping malls this morning. To be honest, Mo Corp is the company that we are mainly focusing on and it’s also the company that we are more fond of.” President He did not pay any attention to Xia Weilan and focused his sight on Mo Beichen.

Xia Weilan stood beside Mo Beichen and lowered her gaze. 

Mo Beichen paused briefly. He didn’t reply to President He but said, “Sit down.”

Everyone looked at Xia Weilan. This was the first time that Xia Weilan worked as an assistant and she was unsure if she should be standing or sitting. But since Mo Beichen had already asked her to sit, Xia Weilan quickly pulled out the chair next to her and sat beside Mo Beichen.

Mo Beichen said steadily to the person across him, “In that case, President He can take a good look at our contract agreement. If there’s anything that is inappropriate, we can resolve it on the spot.”

President He retrieved his gaze from Xia Weilan’s young and delicate face. An interesting expression flashed across his eyes. It was obvious that he had mistaken Xia Weilan for a girl with just a pretty face who had a special relationship with President Mo. 

However…

“Is President Mo joking with us? This is the most ridiculous contract that I’ve seen today.” President said in a very impolite manner. 

Xia Weilan lifted her gaze in astonishment. President He who sat across had closed the documents and shoved them aside as he spoke with a very unfriendly tone.

Compared to Xia Weilan who was shocked, Mo Beichan tapped on the table in a composed manner. He had the imposing manner of someone who was planning strategies. “President He, what do you mean by this?”

President He then pointed out a lot of shortcomings pertaining to the collaboration with the Mo Corps like a machine gun. But Mo Beichen resolved each and every single one effortlessly.

Xia Weilan stared with her eyes wide open and felt that the room was filled with the smell of gunpowder. Others were unable to interrupt the battle between two astute businessman.

Mo Beichen suddenly stopped the discussion and stood up. 

“President He, it’s lunch time now. Why don’t we go for lunch first? You had been busy the entire morning, I guess you must be worn out. Let’s take a quick rest and we shall talk again in the afternoon.”

“Okay. We came a little late too, it’s also not the right time to do any further discussion.” President He stood up with the two other assistants. 

Mo Beichen shook President He’s hand in a business-like manner. 

“Let’s make our way to the restaurant. We’ve already reserved a room.”

It was obvious that Mo Beichen already arranged everything in advance.

“Okay. We’ll have to trouble President Mo then.” With that, the atmosphere suddenly became relaxed and the few of them walked out from the conference room.

“President Mo, is this your new secretary? I’ve never seen her before. President Mo had always recruited a male secretary.” Teased President He when they were inside the lift.

Xia Weilan smiled faintly. She read about President He’s information and knew that he was a straightforward person who would say whatever he felt. However, he was a very serious man when it came to working. Otherwise, he wouldn’t unconsciously foamed with rage in the conference room just now, jumping up when the discussion didn’t go the way he wanted.

“Newly hired.” Mo Beichen replied briefly.

Xia Weilan lifted her head to take a glance at Mo Beichen when she heard his reply. She noticed that Mo Beichen was calm. Xia Weilan stood behind him and stared at his side profile. Viewing from this angle, she found that his facial feature was even more deep set compared to usual.

Xia Weilan gazed at him attentively for a while without realizing that President He who was standing at the other side was watching her.

President He couldn’t believe that a secretary would dare look at her president with such a gaze.

Moreover, President He could tell that Xia Weilan’s eyes were those of the eyes of a woman who was passionately in love. Her eyes were flashing with different radiance that was too obvious to others. 

The lift door opened and Mo Beichen walked out. 

Shortly after, the five of them had a meal together.

Because Xia Weilan was playing the role of a secretary, she had been acting right and proper. The atmosphere around the table was very relaxed.

In the middle of lunch, Xia Weilan went to the washroom. When she was at the basin washing her hands, she heard the voices of the two assistants from next door.

“Isn’t Mo Beichen bothersome? We’ve already been discussing for twenty minutes in the morning and he still wanted to continue in the afternoon.”

“Yeah. if it was me, I would have left long ago. President He stayed back for this meal out of sentiment and face.”

The two assistants became more resentful as they talked, “The first company that we went to this morning wasn’t bad. The price that they offered was even lower than our expectation. We didn’t expect that when we were here at Mo Corp, they increased the price by double. Isn’t it obvious that they are robbing in broad daylight?”

“Yeah. Yihe mall was also a large scale mall. When it comes to scales, they aren’t bad compared to the malls owned by Mo Cops.”

When Xia Weilan heard this, she squinted and walked out quietly beside the door and noticed the two assistants who were muttering walked out from the male toilet next door.

Xia Weilan waited for a while before going out. By the time she returned to the private room, she found that the two assistants were chatting as if nothing had happened.

“President Mo,  you are really thoughtful. We’ll discuss further this afternoon.”

The two assistants were smiling broadly while holding on to two VIP rooms key cards.

After sending them off, Mo Beichen returned to the office with Xia Weilan.

“Hubby, just now I heard them saying that the discussion with us was merely for formality. They already had a partner that they wanted to collaborate with.”

Xia Weilan repeated what she had heard to Mo Beichen.

“I’ve read about Yihe mall. They were the new talent with quite a big scale. But the type of products and quality that they offered were inconsistent. I’m not too optimistic about it. But how come a clever person like President He would…” Xia Weilan said in doubt and confusion.

A light flashed across Mo Beichen’s eyes. “After hearing what you’ve just said, I kind of know what’s the reason. President He wasn’t foolish. He knew that it would be a win-win situation to collaborate with Mo Corp. But he felt that the price that we’ve offered was a bit too high. This morning, he deliberately extended the discussion, I guess that he wanted to push down the prices.”

After he finished speaking, Mo Beichen kept quiet for awhile and suddenly stared at Xia Weilan. An astute light flashed across his deep eyes.

“Didn’t you want to gain more experience? Why don’t I let you exhibit your skill this afternoon? I’ll let you negotiate with them this afternoon.”

Xia Weilan blinked and she seemed interested but at the same time, she was worried. 

“This is an important collaboration. Wouldn’t it be too hasty?”

“You don’t trust my insight? I told you yesterday. There’s always a first time to everything. Moreover, the worst case scenario will be losing the contract. Although Mo Corp really wanted to work with the He Family, aside from them, there were still countless manufacturers that wanted to work with us. It won’t be a regret to miss out He Corp.”

Xia Weilan never thought that to Mo Beichen, the collaboration that he attended personally was actually nothing important than her practicing.
