CEO Husband Please Be Refrained

In the afternoon, President He and his assistants once again entered Mo Corp’s conference room. 

“President He, how’s your lunch break?” Xia Weilan who was seated beside Mo Beichen asked calmly.

President He took a glance at Mo Beichen who was seated beside Xia Weilan in silence. He shifted his gaze and smiled to Xia Weilan, “Not too bad.”

“That’s great. So, let’s us start now.” Xia Weilan flipped the files in front of her elegantly. But instead of reading them, she stared at President He solemnly. 

“President He, earlier on, President Mo had already gone through a lot of the things with you. Our president really looks forward to collaborate with you. Furthermore, the aftermarket service that we provide is the most convenient. This is something that Yihe Mall can’t provide you with. Every time they put a product on the shelves, they have to go through complicated procedures. The brands that our mall carried are all well-known brands. We’re different from those companies who carried too much variety of brands. Although their malls are bigger, they are not as sophisticated as ours.”

The main point of Xia Weilan’s negotiation was to highlight the distinct advantages of Mo Corp over Yihe’s malls.

“I believed that President He understands this, right?” When Xia Weilan finished her words, she smiled faintly at President He, waiting for his response. 

At first, President He didn’t take Xia Weilan seriously and never once stared at her directly. But after hearing Xia Weilan’s words, the more he listened, the more he started to sit upright. In the end, he stared fixedly at Xia Weilan with a serious look in his eyes. He thought for a while before saying, “You are right. Mo Corp’s malls were indeed the mall with the best quality and reputation. But Mo Corps shouldn’t simply increase the rental as you wish. You’re ten percent higher than the market price. This ten percent over a year is a significant profit. With all due respect, this is a deal of that of a despot.”

Although President He said it calmly, one could sensed that his temper was rising. His tone was as if someone had snatched away something that belonged to him.

Xia Weilan stared at President He blankly and she was a little lost for words. She quickly came up with something and regained her calmness.

“President He only sees the ten percent profit. But did President He consider where is the most famous spot in Beijing? Which mall is the top pick for tourists and Beijing’s rich and famous to shop at? With the sales and Mo Corp’s ‘premium shopping’ reputation, I can say that as long as you rent a space in Mo Corp’s mall, you’re already enjoying the privilege of free advertisements…” 

Inside the conference room, only Xia Weilan’s crips and pleasant voice was heard. Compared to Mo Beichen’s aggressiveness, her voice was filled with tenderness and understanding. President He who was still bickering in the morning was now quiet and he was in deep thoughts.

When Mo Beichen saw this, his eyes flashed with surprise. He gazed calmly at Xia Weilan. Although what Xia Weilan said now was the outcome of their discussion during noontime, Xia Weilan’s performance was much better than what he had expected. She made a good justification and furthermore, she was calm and restrained. 

Xia Weilan let out a tranquil smile and poured a cup of tea for everyone. She then sat beside Mo Beichen and gazed at President He.

President He shifted his gazes around as he did some mental calculation. He was starting to be convinced that the collaboration with Mo Corps was like gold nuggets that fell into his laps. That extra ten percent was not a big deal at all.

The other two assistants were quiet all this while. They were staring at Xia Weilan differently now. 

“Haha.” After President He had it figured out, he said to Mo Beichen who had been quiet all this while in a relaxed tone, “Mo Corp was indeed a place filled with talented people. No wonder all the subsidiary companies were all elite. Even a newly hired secretary is so capable.”

After hearing this, Xia Weilan let out a sigh of relief. She heard Mo Beichen’s clear and pleasant voice saying, “Secretary Xia is indeed a remarkable individual.” 

He did not hesitate to praise Xia Weilan with his words. But because it came out from Mo Beichen’s mouth, it was very convincing. It was as if he had fallen for Xia Weilan because she was indeed outstanding. 

“Haha, President Mo really had a good eye.” President He suddenly laughed heartily. The two assistants stared in wide eyes as this is the first time since morning that they saw President He laughing happily. They knew without a doubt that he would be signing this business deal.

President He picked up a pen and signed on the document without hesitation.

He stood up and shook hands with Mo Beichen and Xia Weilan. “I am the most at ease collaborating with Mo Corp.”

Xia Weilan shifted her gaze, not knowing what to say. If it wasn’t because she knew beforehand that President He’s visit was only for formality, she would have trusted President He’s sincerity. 

After President He and the rest left, Xia Weilan and Mo Beichen returned to the office.

Mo Beichen sat in front of the office desk, staring at Xia Weilan’s excited face. He raised his eyebrows and asked, “How do you feel?”

Xia Weilan rubbed her chin and said, “I sort of experienced the ever-changing business world’s aura. But as to the biggest experience I learnt was understanding the concept of knowing one’s strength and the enemy’s is the sure way to victory.”

Mo Beichen stood up and walked to the coffee machine. He poured two cups of coffee and walked in front of Xia Weilan to passed her a cup of coffee.

“You did well today.”

Xia Weilan was holding the hot cup of coffee, her heart rushed because after all, it was rare for Mo Beichen to compliment others.

“But you’re still too young and couldn’t refrain yourself too well. You were a little overexcited just now and President He was able to tell immediately that you are looking forward to this collaboration. That could have put you in the losing end.”

Mo Beichen leaned beside the desk. He was tall and slender. His elegant and steady aura radiated from his bone, making people surrender to him. 

Xia Weilan nodded as she listened to him. She said humbly, “I understand, hubby. I’ll pay attention next time.”

After calling him President Mo for a day, now with no one around them, she can finally call him ‘hubby’. Xia Weilan noticed that Mo Beichen suddenly paused his fingers and a gentle faint smile flashed across his face.

“There’s another meeting tonight. Xu Wei is off duty today. You can continue to put in your effort.” After Mo Beichen finished speaking, he walked aside and started reading up some documents.

The following meeting was an internal meeting. Xia Weilan arranged a few documents but didn’t join the meeting but returned to the President’s office, waiting for Mo Beichen to get off work.
