Blue Blood

Chapter 3 - Lost in the world

I trained for 5 years before the growth in my techniques slowed, I'm just glad the vampire I killed was good at staying away from other sentient creatures, though I know the closest village is 10km east through thick forest. So I wasn't worried about another vampire showing up, unless he knew a vampire he didn't write about in his journal and they get worried when he doesn't show up at the human village to feed.

I still don't know what year it is or what world I'm in, guess creatures that live outisde of time don't care about the date. He didn't even have a map since his routine was study magic, get stronger, feed at the human village. Though from his journal I know he didn't kill his food source. This dude really didn't go anywere but his house and the village.

My swordsmanship, I don't know how good it is since I only practiced the forms and mentally sparred. I have flawless form but no actual experience, so I need to remedy that first when I leave. As for magic, it's really weird, it can have any affect as long as you believe in it enough. Though because of that magicians try to unravel the "science" of magic, so they can believe in it more, making their magic stronger. Like instead of believing something will burn, it's better to know yourself how mana/yin energy burns and how it affects the physical world, including ki/yang energy, combustibles in the air like oxygen and hydrogen, and the spiritual world like ghosts. So magicians constantly do experiments to see how magic affects things, the more they see those affects, the more they believe in them and the stronger their magic.

As for racial abilities, I can manipulate mana freely into any shape I can clearly imagine, which is boosted when I hold bakuya, the yin sword, while my physical abilities get better when holding Kanshou. I can't test my resistance against mana since I'm immune to my own mana. While my physical abilities let me jump twice the height of the trees. (Which are 2 times as big as the average trees on earth!) I can run full sprint while making a sound only a bat can hear, without damaging the ground, thanks to using my yang/physical energy to reinforce the physical world under my feet.

I turned into a raven 2 years ago, and I don't think it can be used for stealth, my eyes glow blue with mana, giving me away. Though I can mimic every animal I've ever heard without needing to transform into a raven

Considering staying here will slow my growth and I've already absorbed all of the plants that give the forest mana from the vampires garden, I take the seeds and his cooking utensils (guess he ate normal food every now and then), make sure I have all of his books memorized (which is easy when strenthening yin/mana strengthens the mind), and head to the village he kept visiting for blood.

Before arriving though I thanked the fact that I was Immortal, I could tell I was in something similar to the middle ages since I could smell the sewage before seeing the village, only to hear the *splat of someone dumping crap out their window into the street and the smell intensifying. The smell almost killed me. The village looks like something from medieval Europe, cobbled houses lined up that keep the cold out when the fireplace is lit and turn the house to a freezer when it isn't during night.

I come closer to the village with the three Rabbits I caught, gutted and bled hanging from my waist, both so I have an excuse for coming from the forest and so I can sell them for money. I guess the vampire I killed just took what he wanted since he didn't have any cash.

Guard:"Name and reason for visit?"

Reaching the guards I'm stopped, not because I did anything wrong, but because the village is small enough for the guard to know everyone. After finding out their using english and giving a fake (english) name, I ask for the butchers location first, because I don't want to carry bloody meat from the tanner to the butcher.

Reaching the butcher I sell the hairs and make small talk for info,

Arata:"How much for three rabits? Pelts too if you don't shortchange."

Butcher:"10 pents per rabbit, the fat one 15. 5 per pelt."

Arata:"That's less than I sold them for last time! I should get at least 15 pents per rabbit!"

Butcher:"Her excellency Queen Elizabeth just passed and the pent isn't worth as much since she has no heir, not many people have faith in house Stuart."

Arata:"Fine, but I'll skin them, I won't have you claim the furs are damaged."

After skinning the rabbits so perfectly the butcher looks at me in a new light he offers 6 pents since the tanner wont even have to scr.a.p.e the fat off. I was going to get him to complain about taxes and listen to the name of who raised them so I can know the name of the ruling house and see if I know what year I'm in. It's real suspicious to ask the year and I don't want to get tied to a stake or get inquisitioned. I didn't expect to hear such a turning point in history though! Guess that's the work of good karma/luck?

If queen Elizabeth passed and the throne went to house Stuart, that means I'm in the 1600's on earth! I know where I am, but since Tormund said he would put me in the world, I just have to find where I'm going, I'm confused. I don't know any series with vampires that takes place in the 1600's, since I'm in europe the first thing I should check would be if I'm in hellsing, but since he said I would like to be in the world I'm going to I doubt it, I don't want to be threatened by war from nazi's twice.

I also don't want to face Dracula.

Since Hellsing is out maybe noblesse? I do look like Raizel, but I don't think he would make me look so much like him if it were so. The only thing left to do though is keep looking.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

10 years! 10 years across europe and all I got to see was people throwing shit into the streets! There are supernatural sure, but most of them were vampires! Probably because they run to me when they get within 5km! How did I test it? I tied one of them up and slowly went further from him until he gained enough of his sanity to read the message in front of him, all he had to do was say open sesame and his cuffs would come off. None of them called themselves nobles so noblesse is out, I also killed them slowly by sparring with them to the death, getting as much combat experience as I could.

It also isn't Hellsing since from the information I politely requested (read:tortured) from a 350 year old vampire you cant turn a human into one. Though such old vampires are rare (from his words), since from the start of the medieval ages the inquisition, vampire hunters and the church paladins have been laying waste to them.

None of the vampires knew why they wanted to eat me so much, they just got hungry from my smell. So I'm worried if I don't spread information about racial abilities I will fade away like the gods from my old earth. Though since not even a 350 year old knew I think I might be surviving due to the myths about normal vampires.

I've learned I was born in 1653 (remilia was born in 1500, so she's in gensokyo now) but still can't find out what series I'm in, so one by one I'm going to go to the places every vampire series I've read took place in. It will take forever but I'll get there eventually, I'm immortal afterall.

Damn, yokai and monsters are hard to find, I'm starting to get glad vampires run up to me when they smell me, I couldn't get any information about the supernatural otherwise. I see 10 times as much vampires as other species, and have to kill them all.

Year 1800, I've been through America and ended up becoming a Raven totem god to the few Native Americans left. It made me stronger but I didn't touch their faith and actually become a god since I was afraid I would disapear when Native Americans do. After touring North America I toured the south and still couldn't find my destination, I was starting to get pissed at Tormund. Then I found a tribe much larger than the Native American one I stayed at that still believed in gods.

It was also my first time meeting a God since Tormand is only as strong as one, though I assume he's as strong as a peak powered god that isn't questioned by the masses. Yokai keep getting weaker as technology advances, let alone gods. Her name was bast, a panther, It really makes me thank the Raven that I can understand and speak any language. I don't know why people believed that about ravens but I'm not complaining.

She told me of a place thats been in the works since year 1500, they've been trying to set up a barrier to seperate human disbelief from Yokai and other supernaturals so we can continue existing. Though Bast looks down on them for trying and doesn't believe they'll succeed since she gets plenty of faith from her tribe. Though since she's so c.o.c.ky, only told me about it to get me to leave, and tried to eat this "shiny bird" on first contact, I'm going to leave her here to die. She really tried to run me off and would probably keep trying to kill me if I couldn't fly.

I'm furious that I'm in the world of Touhou, I had the opportunity to head to japan 100 years ago!

In the year 1802 I set foot in japan, really, such slow travel makes me want to die. Though Japanese docs are closed to outsiders, I can fly from China to Japan as a raven. I search for the Hakurei shrine and want to die again after only 2 years. Why? I can't find Hakurei shrine listed anywere at all! Google maps I miss you! With no way to find It I visit EVERY shrine in japan.

Year 1850, I found Hakurei shrine and start wondering if the Japanese docs were closed to outsiders so they could finish the barrier. I need to find a way in but as a being that freely manipulates mana It shouldnt be hard, though I'll need an excuse as to why I hit the barrier. I dont think Yukari will appreciate me just knowing about the barrier. I may lead a vampire there and finish him off.

After 5 more years I've figured out the barrier enough to not get destroyed by the gap when going through forcefully and found a vampire strong enough that it's believable it could put me in dire straights when I'm weakened due to mana exhaustion.

I expel enough of my mana that I will have a hard time both facing the vampire and the barrier, I'm ok with getting to Gensokyo half dead since I'll end up in Hakurei Shrine where mana is abundant. I would also rather almost die to the vampire than get questioned by Yukari on how I made it through with no injuries. I only know about her from a game and she still scares me.

I get close enough to the vampire that he can smell me, this particular one is strong because he always drinks his victim dry and that makes me more willing to use him as a sacrifice. Until now I've kept my eye on him from 7km in the air as a Raven so he doesn't smell me while staying out of his turf. Once he smells me his eyes glow as bright as they can, he looks at where my heart is located even though were seperated by 10 walls and rushes me, he's strong enough to keep his mind and know he shouldn't make noise while closing in.

I run from him towards the shrine, letting him believe he's closing in, even though I've noticed him were both running silent since he doesn't want vampire hunters on his tail and I'm acting the same since vampire hunters cant identify me as a vampire. We eventually reach the shrine and I slow down, after putting my back on the barrier in the shrines gate, Yukari senses me and I start my act.
