An Inevitable Fate?

Chapter 84 - 84: Home is where your husband is. (1)

"I hope you could keep it from Rachel for now."

He had initially wanted to ask him about the person who had blackmailed Rachel but he held it back. Today might have been hard on Colin, he thought of giving him time to rest.

He got up and walked towards the door, fixing his blazer. But suddenly halted. Turning back to Colin, he spoke with a grin on his face.

"Also, you should make sure to seal the mouths of the people who had attended the party. After all, your image is important to me. Take care, father-in-law."

Colin turned his face in disgust. The young man had the guts to tease the elder.

'Hmph! I will never forgive them both in my lifetime.'

Aaron walked out of the room and saw Gabriel pacing back and forth in the corridor. She looked anxious.

He went up to her and blocked her path, to make her stop pacing around. She lifted her head and her nervousness grew more.

"What did you say to him? Is he alright? Tell me,"

She clutched her hands tightly in front of her c.h.e.s.t, breathing hard.

Aaron was speechless.

She was being a little too anxious and wary about him, wasn't she? Was he that horrible and untrusty guy to begin with?

"He's fine, you can go in. I will be leaving now. Take care, auntie."

He didn't wait for her but left after speaking.

Gabriel sprinted in the direction of the ward and opened the door with a bang.

Colin who was lost in thoughts jolted back with a shock. Seeing him in a relaxed mood, Gabriel finally left a sigh of relief.

At least, the boy hadn't lied about her husband's health.

"What's wrong?"

Colin asked her in confusion. Why was she behaving like she had seen a ghost?

"It's nothing. Do you want something to drink?"

She changed the topic to distract him. Colin shook his head and closed his eyes to rest. But his eyes flew open when he remembered something.

"Call Jane, fast!"

Gabriel almost spat out the water that was in her mouth when she heard his loud voice.

She frantically searched for her phone and dialed her daughter.

"The number you're calling is not reachable, please-"

She ended the call with a frown. She then dialed the telephone that was in the mansion. The butler said that Jane wasn't at home.

She took her bag and went out?

"Her phone is not reachable, maybe she's in class right now."

Colin's worry grew more as he heard that. Was she really kidnapped?

"I will call her after some time, go back to sleep first."

She tucked her phone back and sat next to him.

Colin couldn't tell his wife because he didn't want her to get worried.

'That boy said Jane was safe, but why isn't she picking the call? Where exactly is she now?'

Though he had closed his eyes, thoughts of his daughter being in danger never left his mind.

Outside the hospital, a sports motorcycle came to a halt with a skidding sound.

The people who were walking in and out of the hospital turned in the motorcycle's direction in curiosity.

The girl who was sitting at the back climbed down the bike hurriedly and made a few quick steps towards the side of the road before starting to heave. She clutched the wall beside her as she threw up everything that was in her stomach.

After what it felt like ages, she scrambled on her feet holding the wall as if her life depended on it.

A clean handkerchief came in front of her. She took it with a great effort and wiped her mouth.

When she was done and turned to thank the person, her eyes opened wide.

"What the hell? F*ck off, you damned guy!"

She threw the handkerchief back to him in a furry.

The man caught it reflexively and threw it off when he remembered her wiping her filthy mouth with it.

"Disgusting!"

He twisted his face in disgust before walking away towards his bike. His whole body was shaking with fury.

"Hah, serves you right."

Jane muttered to herself and followed him.

"Is this how you repay your savior? What an ungrateful brat!"

"Then why did you have to ride the bike like your a.s.s was on fire? How many times did I ask you to slow down? I would have had a better life with the kidnapper than riding with you in your f*cking stupid bike!"

"Hey! Don't you dare berate my precious baby girl!"

How dare she? Even his boss had not said anything about the bike yet this unripened chic was showing the finger to it.

Jane rolled her eyes at his exaggeration.

Mark's anger was fuelled with petrol when she rolled her eyes.

"F*ck! Where are your manners? You should be kneeling down to thank this lord for saving your worthless ass!"

"Who asked you to save me? Hmph! For your information, you almost hit a huge truck and a road divider earlier! Thanks to your so-called saving, I almost lost my life! "

Seriously, this guy was a shitty-person who drove like a crazy bitch!

Mark grinned at her as he recalled the incident.
