An Inevitable Fate?

Chapter 16 - Done with your inspection?

At Lee industry.

A black Mercedes-Benz GLS slowly stopped in front of the Lee industry. A slender figure got down from the car and leisurely strode towards the tall building. Staff who were well dressed in black and white uniforms welcomed him.

"Welcome, sir," Voices echoed uniformly in the wide spacious lobby.

He walked steadily, wearing a slim-fit dark navy blue suit coupled with a white inner shirt and black tie. His jet black hair was slightly messed up making him look treacherous. As he reached the center of the lobby, a person came and greeted him.

"Welcome, Mr. Lee. I am the general manager, Kelvin. Nice to meet you." Kelvin extended his hand with a warm smile on his face. He was in his early thirties, particularly selected by the Chairman, Lee William.

Aaron nodded with a smile and shook his hand as he spoke.

"Mr. Kelvin, I hope we get along well."

"It's my p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to work with you, sir." Kelvin grinned. Hey! Come to think of it, his boss was not bad!

Aaron stood in front of the personal elevator, hands tucked inside the pant pockets. Kelvin who stood next to him observed his boss. His jet black hair, his piercing eyes, the long nose bridge along with thin lips made him look all flamboyant. The diamond stud gave off a dangerous aura. And, was that a tattoo on his neck?

"Done with your inspection?" Aaron asked in his cold voice raising his one eyebrow.

Kelvin snapped out from the thoughts and laughed off awkwardly, scratching his head. At the exact time, the elevator opened and saved Kelvin. Ugh!

Inside the elevator, he could feel the chills emitted by Aaron. He felt suffocated. Finally, Aaron's cold voice broke the silence.

"My schedule?"

"There is a meeting with the board directors at 11.30 am. Before that, the chairman has instructed us to organize an interview for your secretary. I have shortlisted the applicants. You can go through them in your office."

Kelvin said everything in one breath and observed his boss. No expression!

He was wrong! He was wrong about his conclusion. His boss was a total freak!

He silently wiped his sweat with his handkerchief praying that they could reach his boss's floor as soon as possible. Why was it taking so long to reach only the 18th floor? Damn it!

After that, Aaron didn't ask anything further nor did he reply. As the elevator's door opened, Aaron strode off towards his office. Kelvin was relieved. 'Finally, I can breathe.' He entered the elevator and left as the only office present on that floor was the CEO's office.

Aaron entered his office and closed the metal door behind him. His office walls were painted with a light gray and cream color. The only furniture present was the rosewood coffee table, a leather couch, and a large desk. A swirling chair was present behind the desk. There was a floor to ceil length french window that allowed the sun rays to fall inside and brighten the room.

He went across the desk, all the while c.a.r.e.s.sing it with his slender fingers. He stood in front of the window, with his hands tucked inside his pockets. Today was the official day for him in joining the Lee industries. The industry was very famous and well-known in the construction fields. It was built by his father with his sweat and blood. He had drained his life to make the industry to stand out among all other companies. It wasn't easy for him to be where he was now. From a small nameless industry to a renowned industry, it had taken a lot of effort and patience.

Now, it was his turn to shoulder the burden along with his father. It was his responsibility to take the industry to the next level. But he knew, it was not that easy to grow in this field. Many people were waiting to grab a chance to pull him down from his position. He should face them and pass the hurdles on his own and stand high.

Knock. Knock. Knock

His train of thoughts was interrupted and he turned to face the door.

"Come in." His cold voice rang inside the office.

General manager Kelvin walked inside by closing the door behind him. He cleared his throat before speaking. Ahem!

"Sir, have you seen the file of the candidates?" He asked cautiously.

"No." He replied as a matter of fact.

"...."

Kelvin felt like crying but tears wouldn't come out. Sigh! It was just the first day working with his boss. Before he could say anything, Aaron spoke again.

"You only select a suitable candidate."

"Me?!" Kelvin sealed his mouth as his voice shrieked.

"Any problem?" Aaron raised his eyebrow.

"Of course...not." Kelvin gingerly answered. He admonished him in his heart. What a jerk!
