A Second Life

Chapter 10 - 10. Another drama

Sumire talked Mrs Sakaki and said she was going out to meet a friend. Since it was early, Mrs Sakaki didn't say anything and ask her to come early.

Sumire reached her destination. It was a nice house with a well cared garden.

Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door.

.

Bakugou was in his room. He was still leaning on the door. His parents said they had some urgent work to do and hence left the house. He heard the door knocking. He ignored it.

He felt glad that they stopped bothering him, but there was a knock again, after five minutes. He was irritated but he didn't have the mood to go out and scold them.

The door was knocked yet again, Bakugou lived in fifteen years of irritation, too large to be ignored just because of a near death, stranglement.

He cursed under his breath and opened the door.

"What the hell do-" he couldn't complete his words because of the person standing on the doorstep. It was his only possible fear(?).

"I see you are doing well. Can I come in?"

"..."

"Bakugo-kun?"

"Y-You, what the hell are you doing here?"

"I just want to talk to you." Sumire shrugged.

"...tsch. Get inside."

"Thank you." Sumire got in, she also noticed his clenched fists.

[thankfully, it's not that worse.]

They both sat in the living room, face to face. Both staring at the floor, like it was the most natural thing to do.

"I came to apologise."

"I don't need it, now leave."

"But I need to."

"Look, what you did there, it's not your fault. I wasn't able to stop it. So leave it at that."

"Still-"

"Damn it! Don't you understand what I said to you!"

Bakugou stood up.

"I don't need your goddamn sympathy! Just leave!" He screamed, he didn't know though, he was taking deep breaths, gasping for air. His hands were sweaty, like they always were when he was nervous. He was hyperventilating.

Sumire quickly reached towards him, and sent a wave kaido, he was unconscious after that.

Sumire sighed. She placed him on the couch.

[Should I be happy that it didn't turn into a trauma?]

One thing was sure, Bakugou Katsuki wasn't scared, he was frustrated and anxious. Extremely.

Bakugou felt something warm around his neck. He quickly opened his and shot up. Sumire who was doing kaido with all her attention, didn't notice it. Bakugou quickly started struggling and fell from the sofa on top of Sumire.

His mind blanked and he froze.

"...you're heavy." He heard a soft voice.

He bolted up in panic when his reason returned. He didn't dare to look at her in the eye after that. Sumire came close to him, freaking him even more.

"Y-you! Wh-What are you doing! Stay away you…"

"I'm trying to finish my work here, you see." She pointed at his neck.

"You...You are trying to kill me?" She looked at him, a bit confused.

"I thought you were smart, Bakugou-kun." She sighed got closer.

"You...y-you don't come any closer!" Bakugou started running, but alas, he couldn't outrun Sumire.

She sighed again for the nth time and pinned him to the ground.

"Shh. Don't move. It would be over soon." She whispered.

Bakugou closed his eyes. 'Is this how I'm going to die...I didn't become the number one hero yet…' He lamented but didn't utter a single cry.

He waited for his death. Only it didn't come.

He slowly blinked his eyes. When he dared to open them, he was found a grave yet ravishing face. He was dazed. What happened about dying?

He braved and looked at what she was doing. Her hands were still on his neck. Was she trying to choke him, it didn't look like that. He observed a bit more, and was able to see the faint green glow on his neck.

It was difficult to see it, but it was there. It was warm and comforting, he thought. It was slightly addicting. He enjoyed it. When the pleasant feeling faded and something fell on him, Sumire collapsed on him.

Poor Bakugou, his heart had another attack in a single day. He tried to calm down and looked at her, well her hair because he couldn't see her face.

Bakugou got up and took Sumire into his arms and placed her on the couch on which he was placed previously.

He then sat down next to her and stared. He was never this confused in his life before.

'She tried to kill me because I insulted her, then for some reason didn't. And then she comes to my home to apologize and heal? Me? Wait. when I snapped at her, did I faint? Damn it! What was wrong with me then?'

Bakugou, who only gave PTSD but never experienced one, had no idea. He would never will because Sumire mostly erased the trauma (don't ask how it was possible). It took her a lot of effort and nearly drained her. That's she fainted after healing a simple, well pretty bad purple bruise.

Speaking of Sumire, it was about time she woke and she did. Bakugou was startled by the noise and looked at it.

"Don't freak, don't interrupt and listen to me till the end. Ask any all and all the questions later. I'm having a pretty bad headache for now, don't increase it." Sumire said.

"First things first, I'm sorry for what I did, I am. It doesn't matter if you accept it or not, but I felt guilty, so sorry again. I came here to say that and heal you wounds. Any questions?"

Sumire stated while recovering her reiryoku.

[Ah...it doesn't hurt that much now…]

"...How did you heal me?" It felt damn good. That stifling feeling was gone.

Sumire blinked. "Well...it's because of Kaido." She showed it to him, though it was lot dimmer.

Bakugou was awed. He tried to touch it. He cautiously held her palm. It felt warm, easy to addict, the kaido or whatever it is.

"What is this?" Bakugou asked, holding her hand.

"It's a healing kido."

"What's a kido, your quirk?"

"No, kido...is well, it's like a spell, of reiatsu?"

"Don't tell me if you don't want to."

"No, well, my quirk is quite complicated, but it allows me to manifest reiatsu, the literal spiritual power. I'm able to use it these forms after a lot of practice."

Bakugou tried to take in everything, and put the pieces together. She wasn't lying but definitely hiding something. He wouldn't ask, he didn't have the right to.

"You just didn't heal my...bruise right?"

"Yeah." Sumire looked a bit guilty.

"...that stifling feel is gone because of…"

"Yeah."

There was silence, it could come at anytime and anywhere.

"You didn't have to do that. I didn't your help."

"I know, but I wanted to. I didn't do it for you, I did it for myself. It was just, helping you, was also helping me. That is all." Sumire said, looking straight into his eyes, they were sincere.

The kind he hated. It used to make him feel weak and disgusted with himself, but this time it didn't. It gave a very odd feeling instead.

There was yet another silence.

Till it was broken by a growl.
