Chapter 21 - //Joining the Tribe//

Upon entering the tribe, the first thing Spencer came in contact with was the head of a spear pointed at his c.h.e.s.t.

"Who are you?"-neanderthal

A random neanderthal came up to Spencer pointing its spear at him, Spencer had almost killed the neanderthal due to the instincts of all the predatory creatures he had absorbed flaring up within him.

But he suppressed the urge to kill the neanderthal and only raised his hands into the air to show that he was of no harm to it.

"I am no harm to you, I remain lost without a tribe and have been searching this land for somewhere to go"- Spencer.

Spencer spoke in the neanderthal's native language this caught it off guard as Spencer was not similar in appearance to them in the slightest, this drew a lot of attention to him from the surrounding neanderthals.

"Where have you come from?"-neanderthal

A second neanderthal walked up to spencer pointing its spear and began to question him. Spencer still had not come up with a complete backstory as of yet, so he did not know how to respond.

The neanderthal observed Spencer and noticed that he was not responding to the question at hand, the neanderthal pointed its spear towards Spencer's neck to pressure him into answering the question.

This action made Spencer's instincts flare up violently in response to the neanderthal, struggling to hold it back, Spencer gently grabbed the wooden section of the spear.

It attempted to move the spear away from his grasp, but it would not budge no matter how hard it tried. Spencer watched as it struggled and couldn't help but think how pathetic it looked.

Spencer had let go of the spear and watched as it fell back on its rear. Seeming frustrated by Spencer's actions the neanderthal swiftly got up and thrust its spear at Spencer's neck in an attempt to kill him for what he did.

Spencer observed this and grabbed the spear with his left hand and shattered it, he then grabbed its neck and snapped it in reflex.

Realizing what he did, Spencer quickly dropped the now dead neanderthal and looked at the rest of the tribe to see how they would respond to him killing one of their own. As he expected, the tribe didn't take his actions very well.

All of the tribe members picked up their weapons and surrounded Spencer, they all had an angry yet worried look on their faces from seeing how easily Spencer killed one of their own.

Before the people of the tribe could attack Spencer, he decided he should try to de-escalate the situation, he didn't want to kill off the only form of intelligent life he has come in contact with after years of being alone.

"wait, I can aid your tribe in whatever it needs, I only ask that I remain here"-Spencer.

Spencer proposed a deal that he thought would be appealing to them. Some lowered their weapons to think about Spencer's proposal, others stayed vigilant and continued to point their spears at spencer.

One of the individuals holding a spear walked up to Spencer and began to speak.

"What could you do for us"-neanderthal

"I could hunt for this tribe and its people"-Spencer.

When Spencer said this, the individual backed away and went to the rest of the tribe. It sounded as if they were discussing the agreement on whether they would let Spencer into the tribe to help them hunt.

The discussion came to an end and the individual came back.

"We will let you in if you can bring us food"-neanderthal

Nodding his head in agreement, Spencer walked outside of the tribe's borders and vanished into the forest, Spencer was moving at hundreds of miles an hour through the forest, avoiding obstacles as he went.

Quickly scanning his terrain, spencer was looking for a decently sized animal that he could bring back to the tribe so they would accept him. Only a few minutes passing since his departure, Spencer spotted a suitable offering, he saw a deer twice the size of that of a modern-day deer, eating grass in a field.

Running up behind the creature, Spencer immediately broke the deer's neck without any resistance from the deer whatsoever. Picking it up, Spencer began making his way back to the tribe carrying the dear over his shoulder.

.

Finally making it back to the tribe after an hour of walking, it was getting dark. When he entered the tribe, he walked to its center and dropped the dead dear onto the soil in front of the tribe's people.

"I have finished hunting"-Spencer

The people of the tribe gathered around the corpse of the deer and were amazed by its sheer size.

"How did you hunt this so quickly?"-neanderthal

Spencer did not respond to its question and asked one of his own.

"Is this enough?"-Spencer

The individual was woken from his daze and nodded his head at Spencer.

Spencer nodded back in response and began walking away. The individual seeing this went after him in a hurry.

"What about your share of the hunt?"-neanderthal

Spencer only looked at the individual.

"Where can I stay?"-Spencer

.

.

It is now morning, Spencer could be seen sitting in a lotus position on a bed of animal skin inside of a tent that was also made of leaves.

Spencer was up all night meditating as his body did not require him to sleep, he was still trying to find a way to step into the realm of the truly supernatural, but he still could not figure it out no matter how much he tried.

Sensing something approaching his tent, Spencer opened his eyes to see who was approaching him, entering his tent was the individual from yesterday.

"Is there something you need?"-Spencer

Spencer questioned the individual on why he was invading his tent.

"We need to go hunting"-Neanderthal

*sigh*

Spencer sighed in response to this and stood up from his lotus position. He began to follow the individual out of his tent and to the border of the tribe, after a few moments of walking, they came to meet a group of neanderthals holding spears and some rope made from vines.

Reaching the group, Spencer noticed that the group was glaring at him with malice in their eyes, this confused him greatly.

"This is Quintus, Hagen, and Cassius, I go by the name of Agron"-Agron

The individual began telling Spencer the names of each member of the group in order but didn't seem to mention the one female in the group.

"And who is she"-Spencer

Spencer pointed at the female. seeing who he was pointing at Agron let out a sigh.

"that is Dinah, she is the mate of the person you killed, she is taking his role as a hunter"-Agron

As Agron introduced Dinah, she gave spencer a look of pure hatred. Spencer decided to ignore this and looked at Agron.

"let's start the hunt"-Agron

saying this, Agron began leading the group into the forest in the pursuit of food for the tribe.
