Though they were anxious, what could they do? They had to make do with the situation.

Shen Yanming crawled out of his little nest, ran over to He Changkong’s face, and bounced on the pillow for a bit. After a few rounds of bouncing, he lay back down. He figured that even if someone were playing basketball right next to them, it probably wouldn’t disturb He Changkong.

Shen Yanming then pressed both of his hands onto He Changkong’s face, first playing with his eyelashes and then poking his face.

Under his relentless harassment, He Changkong finally opened his eyes.

He Changkong lifted Shen Yanming and set him down properly. “Good morning.”

Five minutes later, He Changkong was brushing his teeth, and Shen Yanming stood by the washbasin, using doll-sized accessories for brushing as well. To be honest, they weren’t very effective, but it was the best they could do.

After finishing their morning routines, He Changkong carried Shen Yanming back to the room, and helped him change into a cute-looking pair of overalls.

Once they were both dressed, He Changkong made a bowl of cereal and gave Shen Yanming a small portion, drinking the rest himself.

He had thought about taking Shen Yanming out to eat, but places like the cafeteria were impractical. Going to more private places wasn’t ideal either. A couple of days ago, at Shen Yanming’s insistence, they had gone out to a restaurant and booked a private room. However, Shen Yanming’s small size meant he had a small appetite. After sipping some soup, he claimed he was going to burst.

Well, since nothing seems quite right, Shen Yanming suggested they keep it casual and just sit together with He Changkong while having some soup.

Shen Yanming sipped on his cereal, his mouth forming an upside-down ‘U’ as he took back his small speaker. “I want to eat meat heartily, have hot pot, and drink a big cup of milk tea.”

He Changkong sighed.

Shen Yanming added, “I’m just saying, it’s not like I really want to eat all that. Don’t trouble yourself.”

Afterward, he ran over to the edge of the table where their bag was placed, and he climbed inside, making himself comfortable. “Let’s go, Kong Kong Hao.”

He Changkong took Shen Yanming to the training room, which was relatively empty in the morning. Shen Yanming slipped out of his bag and first glanced at his computer, which had been turned off for several days. He sat at He Changkong’s desk, a bit frustrated.

Shen Yanming asked, “Do you want to accumulate more live-streaming hours?”

He Changkong nodded.

Shen Yanming said, “Can I play a little too? I feel like I’m going through withdrawal.”

He Changkong was taken aback. “How are you going to play?”

Shen Yanming explained his idea in detail. “I’ve thought about it before. Although I can’t sit at the desk and use the keyboard and mouse normally right now, I can still step on the keys on the keyboard. It’s like those dance machines people play in arcades. What do you think?”

He Changkong said, “You might not be able to see the screen very well.”

Indeed, right now, Shen Yanming saw the screen like a movie theater screen, even more exaggerated. If he stood on the keyboard, the distance wouldn’t be enough to take in the whole screen.

He Changkong added, “And when you’re jumping on the keyboard, you won’t be able to use the mouse at the same time.”

Sitting on the edge of the table, Shen Yanming swung his short legs. “I’ve thought about that too, definitely can’t do it alone, so when you play, leave some keys for me! When you need me to step on them, just let me know.”

Actually, the result would likely be quite poor with this setup, but He Changkong knew that Shen Yanming was going crazy from boredom, so he didn’t refuse.

Since they were trying to increase their live stream time, they didn’t necessarily have to play high-level matches. He Changkong used a lower-level account, started a live stream, and entered the game.

In the past few days, he had been streaming in the morning to fulfill his streaming hours. Although it was early, and many gaming addicts were still in their dreams. However, quite a few viewers specifically woke up early to wait in his live stream room.

As soon as they saw He Changkong log into the lower-level account, some viewers became alert.

– It’s common knowledge that Kong ge doesn’t mess around in his live streams. This account is basically for playing with Luanzi ge, so, in conclusion…

– Is Luanzi ge up to some mischief again?

– Maybe it’s going to be Luanzi ge’s livestream?

– That makes sense, turn on the webcam!

– It’s definitely not Luanzi ge. Even if he doesn’t use a webcam, he’ll still chat a lot. Unless he’s lost his voice.

– Luanzi ge hasn’t been acting like himself these past few days. It’s like he disappeared.

He Changkong was never one to interact much with his audience. He glanced at the barrage but didn’t find any questions worth answering. He hadn’t even turned on his microphone. He straightforwardly joined a match, selected an assassin-type character, and gave Shen Yanming a brief overview of the team compositions on both sides.

The characters began to move, and a few minutes later, they encountered the enemy. He Changkong operated the mouse single-handedly while instructing Shen Yanming, “Leap in, then follow up with a Crescent Swipe in 0.5 seconds…”

Shen Yanming jumped on a few keys. “You don’t need to say it. I can do this combo in my sleep. Just tell me about the enemy’s positions.”

He Changkong was momentarily taken aback but realized Shen Yanming might have a point.

In lower-tier matches, the opponents were usually full of vulnerabilities, and with their well-known IDs, even casual players recognized them. Some players even kneeled in admiration upon seeing their IDs.

Therefore, with the decent cooperation of their teammates and Shen Yanming’s enthusiastic hopping around, it didn’t take long for them to eliminate the opposing players.

Just when usually he could operate the keys swiftly and precisely, Shen Yanming was all over the place this time. After the intense fight and securing the kill, Shen Yanming couldn’t hold up any longer. He placed one hand on his waist and the other on the edge of the keyboard, panting heavily. It was so strenuous that he couldn’t even sit down. After a while, he raised his small speaker and said, “Hey, you play on your own… Jumping blindly without seeing the screen feels no different from doing exercise.”

In short, there was no enjoyment one would typically derive from playing a game.

He Changkong took over the keyboard. “Take a break. After this match, I’ll help you wipe off… you’re covered in sweat.”

Shen Yanming caught his breath for a while and then asked, “How did we do? We got all the kills. Check what the barrage is saying.”

He Changkong hesitated for a moment.

Shen Yanming urged, “Come on, just tell me.”

The comments weren’t exactly terrible. He Changkong carefully read a few and then conveyed them to Shen Yanming, “…It feels a bit delayed, and the skill connections are a bit slow. But it’s enough to deal with these low-tier noobs…”

Shen Yanming shrugged, “It’s normal, after all, I was just stepping on the keyboard like dancing. Maybe my foot speed can’t keep up with my hand speed. Sigh.”

Although Shen Yanming said this casually, He Changkong sensed his displeasure.

And it was understandable.

Shen Yanming had already grown into a mature professional player. Aside from facing top-tier experts, he rarely encountered situations where he didn’t perform well. However, now being assessed as “a bit delayed” in this kind of match, it was only natural that he felt irritated. No one else knew that he was playing this way to execute his combos.

Leaving that aside, these past few days must have been frustrating for Shen Yanming. His life had become inconvenient, he couldn’t play his favorite game, and he had no idea when he would return to normal.

During a gap in the match, as they were being teleported elsewhere, He Changkong reached out and gently patted Shen Yanming’s head.

Afterward, the audience in the livestream room saw He Changkong suddenly go wild like a man possessed, performing extreme maneuvers, killing opponents on the spot whenever possible, and even creating opportunities to attack when there were none.

So, the match ended in just over ten minutes.

He Changkong turned on his microphone, saying, “Sorry, I have something to do, so I won’t continue the broadcast for now.”

Leaving the chat filled with question marks.

After closing the livestream, He Changkong cradled Shen Yanming in his palm, taking out a handkerchief to wipe his sweaty face. “I don’t really feel like playing anymore. How about we go out for a walk? Then we can find something delicious to eat. If you can’t finish everything, just take a taste of each, try the flavors.”

Shen Yanming, of course, knew that He Changkong was trying to comfort him. Actually, he didn’t particularly want to play or eat something. He was just feeling a bit down, thinking that he couldn’t do anything at the moment and felt uneasy, not knowing when he would return to normal.

He pretended to look very eager and said, “Let’s go, let’s go! Take me out to play!”

He Changkong shut down his equipment, sent a message to inform the coach, and then carried Shen Yanming in his bag as they left.

In truth, it was still quite early when they went out. When they reached a nearby mall, many stores had just opened, so there weren’t too many people. He Changkong casually strolled around for a few laps, asking Shen Yanming where he wanted to go. Shen Yanming didn’t have a specific destination in mind and randomly pointed to a store selling blind boxes and figurines.

He Changkong entered the store. The cashier sat in front of the counter, looking half-asleep. Shen Yanming poked his head out of He Changkong’s bag and exclaimed, “Wow!”

He Changkong asked, “Is there anything you want to buy?”

He Changkong had come alone, so when he suddenly spoke, the cashier subconsciously looked in his direction. Shen Yanming noticed this and immediately retracted his head.

Seeing that He Changkong had AirPods in his ears, he thought the guy was talking on the phone. So, he turned his gaze away.

After a while, Shen Yanming poked his head out again, revealing his round eyes. “I feel like one of those mole in the Whac-A-Mole game.”

He Changkong asked, “Huh?”

Shen Yanming wasn’t using his small speaker this time, so He Changkong couldn’t hear him clearly. He simply shook his head, indicating that he had just made an unrelated comment.

He perched on the bag’s zipper, looking at the dolls in the display case.

He Changkong glanced at the dolls in the case and then at Shen Yanming. “You’re about the same size as them now.”

Shen Yanming grumbled, “Hmm.”

As they were talking, a few young girls entered the store, chattering excitedly. Shen Yanming retracted into the backpack again, and He Changkong shifted to a different spot.

The girls glanced at He Changkong, then ran to the side and started gossiping.

He Changkong unzipped the bag a bit, looking inside. He asked in a low voice, “Do you want to go somewhere else?”

Shen Yanming tilted his head back and nodded with great effort.

Just as they were about to leave the store, He Changkong heard the girls who had just entered talking about something strange. One of them said, “…I read a story last night, the gong is a figurine, and he turns into a real person at midnight.”

He Changkong stopped in his tracks, intrigued.

Another girl seemed interested, “Will he do intimate stuff when he turns into a person? That would be exciting… Do you have the text? Send me a copy?”

The girl who brought up the topic, girl A, replied, “Have a little copyright awareness, okay? You can read it on GreenWeb. Why bother with a text version? The money you spend on blind boxes every month could buy you dozens of stories.”

The girl scolded for attempting to read pirated content, Girl B, reluctantly said, “Alright… but are there stories where a person turns into a figurine-sized body?”

Girl A replied, “I don’t know, but there should be, everything can be found on GreenWeb. But the one I read, the gong turned into a person because he had too much resentment and couldn’t find a partner. So, every day, he’d talk to the figurine, saying, ‘If only you could turn into a person,’ and then he really did…”

Girl B exclaimed, “Wow, that’s amazing! I think I’ll go home and talk to the ones in my cabinet too…”

Girl A laughed, “Who knows, some people in relationships might say, ‘If only you were the size of a figurine, you wouldn’t be so noisy,’ hahaha.”

Shen Yanming, who was eavesdropping with He Changkong, widened his eyes in shock.

He Changkong had an innocent expression. “How could I ever find you noisy?”

Both girls turned to look at He Changkong as he muttered to himself.

He Changkong: “…”
