He Changkong, in reality, wasn’t much of a forum reader or a social media user. He would check in when necessary, but his online presence was not particularly frequent. However, over the past few days, he had been online more frequently, not so much for browsing but because he had to read the content aloud.

For example, right now, he was reading comments filled with strange internet slang in a monotone voice: “Is this for real? Did something happen to Luan? The guys didn’t even invite him to dinner, and today’s scheduled livestream is missing him. They even had the second-team juniors cover for him. I’m so worried QAQ.”

Luan Jiang, who had been cued into the conversation, was huddled beside his phone, holding his little toy megaphone. “QAQ is an emoticon; you don’t need to spell it out letter by letter.”

“I know it’s an emoticon.” He Changkong extended a finger, lightly tapping Shen Yanming on the head. “Aiyo!,” he heard, and Shen Yanming toppled from beside the phone, tumbling into the blankets.

The reason behind this peculiar scene was that—

Shen Yanming had shrunk.

Quite literally, he had become smaller. For some unknown reason, one day he had woken up to find himself as a tiny person, measuring around 10 centimeters in height.

Recalling that unprecedented chaotic day, Shen Yanming had opened his eyes to discover himself in what seemed like an endless expanse of darkness, and this darkness appeared to have weight, pinning him down. He didn’t know what was going on, but he faintly heard He Changkong calling him. He responded, but it seemed that He Changkong hadn’t heard him and had left. After some time had passed without him finding anyone, He Changkong returned. Subsequently, Shen Yanming heard He Changkong calling him on the phone, but his phone was ringing incessantly in the room.

Shen Yanming attempted to shout a few times, but He Changkong still didn’t hear him. He continued to call other teammates, asking if they knew where Shen Yanming was.

Shen Yanming inwardly panicked; could he be dead again? He couldn’t see anything in the darkness, and nobody could hear his voice… He was probably a wandering spirit in some unknown space.

Fear immediately surged within him, but fortunately, this speculation didn’t last long, and he didn’t have time to let his mind wander further. Because soon enough, He Changkong lifted the blanket, and the darkness and heaviness that had covered Shen Yanming disappeared instantly.

As the light suddenly hit him, Shen Yanming found it a bit blinding at first. He raised his hand to shield his eyes, adjusting to the light. Then, he took a look around.

Damn, had he been transported to the land of giants?!! What on earth was this massive thing in front of him?! Help!

Terrified, he stumbled backward but accidentally tripped over something. When he took a closer look, it was a huge piece of cloth, and its colors seemed oddly familiar, like his pajamas… No, it was more like his actual pajamas.

Meanwhile, he was stark naked, with no cover.

Shen Yanming’s brain was not processing things quickly enough: “???”

A shadow fell over his vision, and as he looked up, he saw an enlarged version of a familiar face.

Pointing at this face, Shen Yanming gulped: “Kong ge has turned into a giant!!!”

He Changkong wore an expression of “What’s wrong with this world?” but still tried to appear composed. He reached out to pick up Shen Yanming, and his hands were trembling slightly. After taking a few deep breaths, he finally regained his composure.

Sitting in He Changkong’s palm, Shen Yanming and He Changkong stared at each other with their vastly different-sized eyes.

This surreal situation lasted for several minutes.

He Changkong leaned closer, straining to hear Shen Yanming’s words, and then explained, “It’s not that I turned into a giant. It’s… you who turned small.”

It was indeed quite magical.

Fortunately, both of them had experienced even more bizarre things. Compared to concepts like rebirth, becoming small didn’t seem that difficult to comprehend. After sorting things out a bit, they gradually accepted the fact that Shen Yanming had inexplicably become tiny.

However, just because they could accept it didn’t mean others necessarily could. At first, fearing that their other two teammates would be frightened, He Changkong didn’t tell them about Shen Yanming’s miniature state. After settling Shen Yanming, he explained to the others, “There’s been an urgent matter at his home, so he rushed back this morning. It might be a while before he returns.”

Although it wasn’t the most ethical thing to do, avoiding phone calls and having someone else convey the message, the urgency of the situation justified it. It seemed like something significant had happened. Fortunately, there were no important tournaments scheduled, and the coach, while slightly annoyed, didn’t press the issue too much. Their two teammates asked a few questions but gave up when they couldn’t extract any information.

In any case, He Changkong managed to get away with this lie.

However, on the same afternoon, their other two teammates uncovered the truth.

Meng Yan and Pudding returned to their player dorm during training and were greeted by an unbelievable scene.

Shen Yanming was wearing a small ill-fitting outfit that appeared to have been taken from a doll. He was sitting atop the back of the team’s blue cat mascot with a cool and arrogant expression on his face.

Pudding was in shock, “Is this some magical merchandise we released in collaboration with a sponsor?”

Shen Yanming was equally astounded. He instinctively tried to hide but hadn’t figured out how to do it. The cat, however, seemed to understand what was going on, lazily stretched and shook off the little troublemaker from its back.

…And Shen Yanming was tossed to the ground with a cry of despair. Fortunately, the area had soft carpets; otherwise, he might have been in serious trouble.

Pudding’s voice trembled as he said, “Help! This little guy can move on his own! I think he even made a noise!”

Meng Yan picked Shen Yanming up by his clothes, and as he did so, Shen Yanming spiraled around in the air like a bamboo dragonfly.

Shen Yanming said, “…@o@!!! It’s me! Stop spinning me! I’m getting dizzy!”

Meng Yan’s expression was as if he’d seen a ghost, “What the… This little thing seems to be talking.”

Pudding asked, “What did he say?”

Meng Yan replied, “I couldn’t hear clearly. He’s speaking too softly!”

Pudding speculated, “Could he be Luan jiang’s illegitimate child?”

Meng Yan retorted, “Human kids don’t look like this!!!”

Shen Yanming grabbed Meng Yan’s arm and vigorously waved his tiny arms. Finally, Meng Yan understood what he meant and brought his ear closer.

Shen Yanming shouted with all his might, almost straining his voice: “I! Am! Your! Dad! I’ve! Shrunk!”

Meng Yan: “…”

Pudding: “…”

So, this became a little secret among the four of them.

However, due to this situation, He Changkong started carrying Shen Yanming with him whenever he went out. He had a small bag specially designed for this purpose. It was a bit like the bags ticket collectors wear on buses. Inside, he placed several layers of cushions, and Shen Yanming would sit in there. If no one was around, he would poke his head out and sometimes even venturing out for a patrol. However, he didn’t dare venture too far. Usually, he would play for a while and then retreat back into He Changkong’s bag when someone approached.

Three days passed like this. Shen Yanming couldn’t even begin to describe how difficult those three days had been. While being small did have its novelty and fun, the most troublesome part was that he didn’t know when he would return to his normal size. As a result, he couldn’t participate in regular training and activities.

He was getting desperate.

Checking his phone by himself was also quite challenging. His phone was now larger than he was, making it a bit cumbersome to operate, and the text was too big, straining his eyes.

He wanted to know how others were reacting to his sudden disappearance. So, he had He Changkong read forum posts and comments out loud for him.

Unexpectedly, after He Changkong finished reading, he gave Shen Yanming a little push.

Struggling to get up, Shen Yanming retrieved his small speaker and shouted at He Changkong, “Ge! Why did you push me!”

Pudding had bought this mini-speaker for him. Being small had reduced his voice volume, and normal speech was nearly inaudible to others. When he had just shrunk, he could only speak to someone by climbing on their shoulder and talking into their ear. It was too inconvenient, so Pudding had the idea to search online and found this doll-sized speaker. It even had a voice amplification function. He found a local seller, ordered it in the morning, and it arrived in the evening.

Shen Yanming, who had once been jokingly called “Living Loudspeaker,” now had to carry the speaker with him everywhere he went.

He Changkong said, “There’s nothing interesting in these posts, and I’ve analyzed the situation before. People are just speculating blindly. In reality, you’ve only been gone for three days in the eyes of the outside world, which is quite normal. In the past, we’ve had closed training for one or two months without making public appearances, except when we had to stream. Your anxiety comes from not knowing when you’ll return, but others haven’t reached the point of real anxiety yet.”

Shen Yanming sighed, “You’re way too calm about this… I’m really anxious. What if I stay like this forever?”

He Changkong lightly tapped his index finger against Shen Yanming’s left cheek. Shen Yanming dropped his small speaker and held onto that finger with both hands. He then raised Shen Yanming up.

He Changkong said, “Worrying won’t help. I searched online, and most of the information is useless. Let me see if I can come up with any other ideas.”

Shen Yanming made a muffled sound of agreement.

He Changkong continued, “Go take a shower.”

Shen Yanming began to squirm.

Actually, for the past three days, He Changkong had been helping him bathe. Shen Yanming was too small to reach the showerhead, and the idea of using the bathroom sink faucet was out of the question because he couldn’t even climb up there.

It was truly challenging.

While they had been open with each other and had even bathed together as a couple, that was an entirely different situation from what they faced now.

He was already an adult, and yet he needed someone else to help him bathe!

It was definitely one of the top 10 moments of shame in his life.

Nevertheless, he was a clean freak, and despite his squirming, he obediently sat in He Changkong’s hand and was carried into the bathroom.

He Changkong brought out a small basin that he had prepared for Shen Yanming over the past two days, filled it with water, tested the temperature, and then gently placed the little guy inside.

He squeezed out a bit of shower gel, preparing to start scrubbing Shen Yanming. Shen Yanming started patting the water in the basin, creating huge splashes! The waves were about five centimeters high! It reflected his strong resistance!

Shen Yanming beckoned with his hand, and He Changkong leaned closer to listen to what he was saying.

Shen Yanming said, “Let me wash myself! I can do it!”

He Changkong replied firmly, “No, it’s too dangerous.” There was a risk of drowning, slipping, or falling after getting out of the water. Plus, Shen Yanming was currently speaking very softly, and the small speaker wasn’t brought in, so He Changkong couldn’t hear what he was saying. He couldn’t allow Shen Yanming out of his sight.

Shen Yanming gave up resisting and let the slippery shower gel glide over his body. He looked like a real doll, lifeless and accepting He Changkong’s actions with resignation.

After the bath, He Changkong used a small towel to dry Shen Yanming. His hair was still wet, but the hairdryer’s airflow was too strong, so He Changkong didn’t dare to use it on Shen Yanming. Instead, he allowed him to air dry naturally.

Then he took out a stack of pajamas from a storage box for Shen Yanming to choose from.

He Changkong asked, “Which one will you wear tonight?”

At first, Shen Yanming had made do with clothes he had taken from other dolls, but they didn’t fit properly, and they were genuinely ugly.

—Later, the enthusiastic and knowledgeable Pudding introduced He Changkong to OB11 doll clothes. They found a local store that sold them, and He Changkong personally went there and bought almost all the doll clothes in the store. The shopkeeper, who also happened to be an occasional gamer and part of their gaming community, was amazed when he saw He Changkong buying doll clothes. That night, the forums were filled with strange rumors about He Changkong raising dolls.

Shen Yanming was feeling tired, so he wrapped himself in his little blanket and rolled around. He brought the speaker over and said, “Just pick whatever you like.”

He Changkong looked at a small dress with a strawberry pattern all over it but ultimately chose a set of mini-yukata, which he put on Shen Yanming.

Throughout the process, Shen Yanming clung to He Changkong’s fingers and nuzzled against them. “I’m getting a little sleepy,” he said.

He Changkong pulled his fingers away and placed Shen Yanming in a small fluffy nest by the bedside. He tucked Shen Yanming in with a small blanket and also gave him a mini dog plushie.

“Help me charge the speaker, gege.” After saying this, Shen Yanming hugged his little plushie tightly, kicked the speaker towards He Changkong, and pointed in the direction of the charger.

He Changkong took the speaker to charge it, sat back down, and looked at the small and adorable Shen Yanming.

Shen Yanming tilted his head. “?”

He Changkong pointed at his own face. “Can you charge me too?”

Shen Yanming, ever obliging, ran over to He Changkong and, with his short legs, held He Changkong’s face in his tiny hands. He gave him a heartfelt peck.

He Changkong chuckled and then gently placed Shen Yanming back in his little nest.

He turned off the lights and said, “Goodnight.”

Shen Yanming’s voice was very soft. “Goodnight. I hope I wake up bigger tomorrow.”

However, as the night passed, when the first rays of morning sunlight streamed into the room through the slightly open curtains, Shen Yanming opened his eyes and found that he was still the same size.

When would this situation end?!
