Chapter 5.2: This woman is not right!

For a time, there was a cheerful air outside the academy.

“What are you celebrating about?”

Licinius asked seriously, “You don’t owe me money, but you still owe me your lives.”

Everyone, “fuck!”

But at that moment, an untimely voice sounded.

“So, you were capable of rescuing hostages afterall?” Cecil suddenly said.

His little friends stood beside him, their eyes full of doubts.

Licinius was stunned for a moment, then turned to look at them,

“What?”

“Then why didn’t you take them out from the start?”

Cecil asked, “Why did you just watch us get caught and did nothing about it? You had to insult us and damage our dignity in front of the criminals? If you were willing to cooperate with us, we would’ve directly destroyed the enemy, right? We’re a registered brass-level adventurer team.”

Licinius shrugged, “I know, stubborn brass.”

Suddenly, Major Hayden said coldly, “Moron!”

Cecil was taken aback.

“Don’t you realise that Miss Noren is a melee warlock? Melee warlocks pursue extreme destruction and violence. Of course, Miss Noren could wipe out the enemy, but she can’t protect others while doing so.”

Major Hayden said with a cold face, “If she had attacked from the very beginning, it’s unknown how many innocent people would have died. And you, the so-called brass-level adventurer team, attacked rashly without knowing the opponent’s means, causing instant failure. As a captain, you never thought about how to deal with spiritual magic?”

Cecil was speechless for a while, “We, we didn’t expect a group of thugs to actually…”

“Things you didn’t expect may cost others their lives!”

Major Hayden scolded, “Why were you so reckless? Was it because the girl you love was captured?”

Cecil blushed after being scolded, and turned to look at the girl at the edge of the crowd.

However, Triya’s eyes always followed Licinius, the dandy young master.

Those eyes were quite meaningful.

“Go back and reflect upon your actions. Master Licinius’s wisdom is not something you can understand. If it wasn’t for him adapting to the situation, dropping the enemy’s guard, and even risking his life in exchange for hostages, I’m afraid…”

Major Hayden sneered, “The four of you may not have been able to come back alive.”

As for how Licinius got out, he doesn’t know.

For a noble in a powerful family, it’s not strange to carry a few sacred relics on their bodies to save their life. But this young master isn’t so favoured in the Valerius family.

Cecil said blankly, “Dropping the enemy’s guard?”

It seemed that he didn’t understand.

Major Hayden shook his head with an angry look on his face.

Triya pursed her lips and said softly, “Brother Cicel, Master Licinius said that we are pariahs and inferior pigs. Those words were only to reduce our value in the enemy’s eyes. Only if we lose value can the enemy release us.”

“After we evacuate safely, Miss Noren and Master Licinius can feel at ease dealing with the gangsters. For them, all of us are superfluous and will only hinder them.”

She explained softly, “So please don’t blame Master Licinius for what he said. I don’t think that was his original intention. Master Licinius is willing to risk his life for us. He is a real noble.”

The rest of the commoners suddenly realised, and whether it was sincere or not, they all showed grateful expressions, “Yes, Master Licinius is brave and resourceful. He is a true noble!”

Cecil was stunned.

It turned out that everyone understood the plan of the dandy young master.

Only he didn’t understand.

He was the clown all along!

He clenched his fists and deeply doubted his leadership ability…

Major Hayden didn’t look at him again, but turned around and said politely, “Master Licinius, although it’s very inappropriate, I still want to ask, are there any survivors in that group of thugs?”

Licinius thought for a while, “There should be. Although Noren is violent, she wouldn’t kill them all.”

Noren nodded, “Some are still alive, but they’ll probably die soon if you don’t give them the appropriate treatment…”

Major Hayden’s expression changed, and he hurriedly ordered his men to go in and save people.

At the same time, he looked at the noble boy in front of him, and his eyes became more and more appreciative.

Smart and bold.

He doesn’t know how he survived, but he knows it’s too good to happen without reason!

“Oh yes, this is what we found on their leader.”

Licinius handed over the little box.

Of course, he hid the most important magic book in his pocket beforehand.

Major Hayden’s expression became solemn, he took the box and saluted respectfully, “The Third Guard, Major Hayden Grimes, thanks you for your help.”

“You’re welcome, I believe that you will handle the rest well, Major.”

Licinius said with a smile.

On the side, Cecil and his companions’ hearts were greatly disturbed as they watched this scene.

Major Hayden’s attitude had already explained everything.

The dandy young master is gold, while they are shit.

Ridiculous!

“Master Licinius.”

Triya folded her hands in front of her chest, her white skirt swayed in the wind, her beautiful eyes stared at the boy’s blood-stained face, and softly said, “Thank you for today’s matter. Triya doesn’t know how to repay you…”

Before Licinius could even speak, he noticed that Noren’s eyes gradually turned cold.

It seemed that Noren became upset as soon as this woman approached.

Licinius coughed dryly and said, “Ah, you’re welcome, I’m sorry for saying some excessive things about you today.”

Triya shook her head, her beautiful eyes filled with hope, “It’s okay, but I want to know one thing… Master Licinius said before that he had always been interested in me and wanted to buy me with money, is it true?”

“Ah, of course not, it was just to fool those idiots.”

Although Licinius occasionally fantasised about it, this isn’t the time to talk about it.

He doesn’t know if it’s an illusion or not, but he keeps feeling that this girl has taken an interest in him after his heroic rescue!

“Ah?”

There was an intriguing smile on Triya’s lips, and she suddenly stood on tiptoe, leaned close to his ear, and whispered in a voice only he could hear clearly,

“It’s a pity, I thought I was going to be humiliated with money by Master Licinius…”

Licinius: ‘Hey, there’s something deeply wrong with this woman!’
