Chapter 18: Evidence

I walked back in our hotel room and started looking for my clothes in my backpack. I only had one shirt, one shorts, one pair of inner wear, and one dress. I chose to wear my black maxi dress and white sneakers.

Thankfully, Nabawasan na yung sakit ng... Alam mo na. Hindi pa bumabalik si Adam sa kwarto kahit natapos na akong maligo. Hinayaan ko na siya dahil baka nauna na siyang mag-almusal.

I braided my hair and it was a bit loose but it does suit my outfit. It was a bright and sunny day when I went out of my room so I took out my sunglasses and wore it. I took photos of myself and the scenery that's in front of me. Beautiful and majestic is what they call it because of its undying beauty.

"H-Hey. Where were you?" I asked Adam.

Aba! Hindi ako pinansin? So ano? Etchapwera na lang ako ngayon? Ano kaya problema neto?

"Huy. Okay ka lang?" Tanong ko muli pero hindi pa rin ako pinansin. Kinuha niya ang backpack niya at nagsimula siyang maglabas ng mga damit niya.

Sinusubukan talaga ako nitong lalaking ito. Sinapak ko po siya sa braso niya dahil napipikon na po ako.

"Bat ka nananapak?" Gulat na tanong niya sa akin.

"Eh ikaw, Bat di ka namamansin? Matapos mo akong ingud-ngod sa buhangin? Di ka namamansin? Sira ulo ka ba??"

"N-Nahihiya kasi ako."

"H-Huh? N-Nahihiya? Babae ka ba? Ako nga itong nagsuko ng Bataan tapos ikaw pa yung nahiya?" Sagot ko pabalik.

"Hindi ka ba naiilang? You gave what you have to me while I gave mine to other girls."

"No. Because I know that you respect me. I love you and You love me. Basta yun lang, Masaya na ko."

"Thank You, Love. I love you! Shower lang ako kasi puro din ako buhangin eh. Wanna come?"

"Baliw! Sige na dyan lang ako sa labas ah. I'll wait for you."

I went outside and it was 8 in the morning when I saw the wall clock before I went out. Nag picture uli ako dahil susulitin ko na dahil babalik na kami ng hapon.

I sat down on the bench right outside our hotel room. Feeling ko may nakalimutan ako, Kaya pumasok muli ako sa kwarto. Ayun! Yung extra key sa kwarto.

Sakto, May narinig akong nag-ring kaya tinignan ko ang phone ko pero hindi naman galing sa phone ko. Nakita kong nag f-flash ang phone ni Adam kaya kinuha ko.

"H-Hello?"

"SERENITY? WILLIAMS? AS IN SERENA IKAW YAN??" Dinig kong sigaw mula sa telepono.

"Oo, Ako nga. Hindi ko na kailangan mag speakerphone sa lakas ng boses mo. Bakit ba?"

"Walanghiya ka! Nasaan kayong dalawa? Alam mo ba na hinahanap namin kayo kagabi? Akala namin napatay na kayo. Hindi pala!"

"Sige na. Uuwi na kami mamaya. Naliligo lang si Adam."

"So Magkasama kayo sa iisang kwarto? HOY ANONG GINAWA NIYO??"

"Basta! Bye!"

Ibinaba ko na dahil hahaba pa lalo ang usapan na iyon. Mamaya ko na lang ikukwento.

"Sino yung tumawag?" Tanong ni Adam pagkalabas ng bathroom.

Hindi agad ako nakasagot dahil lumabas siya ng naka shorts lang at walang t-shirt. Luwa na naman ang mata ko.

"Love, Nakita mo na 'to kagabi. Chill baka mamaya maghabol ka."

"Kapal mo. Mag t-shirt ka nga!"

"Si Sam hinahanap tayo." Dagdag ko.

Ngumisi ito at sinuot na ang white polo shirt na naka-pares sa kanyang khaki shorts at white sneakers.

"Let's go. Gutom na ako." Pag-aaya ko sa kanya.

Pumasok na kami sa restaurant ng hotel na tinutuluyan namin. Alright! Buffet ang breakfast at mapapasabak ako dahil hindi ako nag dinner kagabi.

Kumuha ako ng sari-saring pagkain para naman masulit ko ang binayad ko dito noh!

"Pwede ka bang kumain ng dahan-dahan? Mamaya kasi mabilaukan ka tapos hindi na matuloy ung kasal natin." Sabi ni Adam.

"Gutom kasi ako. Hindi ako nakakain kagabi eh." Sagot ko.

"Hindi ka pa ba nabusog kagabi?"

"Psh! Kahit kailan ka talaga, Richardson. Kumain ka na lang dyan."

Natapos akong kumain nung natapos na rin akong uminom ng kape. Pagkatapos ay niyaya na ako ni Adam lumabas.

"Where are we going, my love?" I asked when I saw him outside.

"Our ride is here. Let's go?" He offered his hands.

I held it and he pulled me while we were running. We rode a motorcycle. Reminds me of Apayao, Nung sinagot ko siya dinala niya ako sa mga magagandang tanawin sa lugar na iyon at ngayon naman ay parang naulit lahat iyon.

Tumatama ang malakas na hangin sa aking mukha dahil sa bilis ng pagmamaneho niya.

"Careful, Love. Baka kasi mahulog ka."

"Sasaluhin mo naman ako diba?" Pabiro kong sagot.

"Of course, Love. You're my future wife and the future mother of our secret agent children. Ilan ang gusto mo?"

"Basta kaya ko, gagawin ko." I smiled.

We are in Boulders Penguin Colony. Buti nalang dala ko ang sneakers ko at hindi sasakit ang paa ko sa pag-akyat dito.

Umakyat kami sa mga bato para makita ang magandang tanawin na dapat namin makita ngayon araw.

"HUY! ANG CUTE!! TIGNAN MO YUNG ISA OH!!!!" Tili ko nang makita ko ang mga penguin sa tabing dagat.

"Can we go there?" I asked.

"Yes, Shall we?"

"Thank you for making me feel this happy after so many years." I said.

"I am willing to do anything just to make you feel you are the only woman that I will love for the rest of my life. You are the best thing that happened in my life."

"Mahal na mahal na mahal kita. Adam, Once na kinasal na tayo, I want us to go back to the places we've been as boyfriend and girlfriend. Promise?"

"It's a done deal, Love. I think we should go back to the hotel because we have a flight in 2 hours." Adam reminded.

Nagpapicture muna ako sa mga penguins kasama si Adam.

Nag-motor na kami pabalik sa hotel at nag-impake na, kahit wala naman kaming dala.

Paglabas namin ay namulot muna ako ng shell at nagbuhos ng buhangin sa isang garapon kasama ang mga napulot kong shell.

"Memorable kaya sa akin yung lugar na 'to, lalo na yung buhangin." Sagot ko.

"Part 2?"

"No! Shh! Dun ka na. Naka checkout na ako."

Nagpakuha na kami ng taxi pabalik ng airport. Buti naman at hindi kami late ngayon sa flight. Alright! Back to work.

"Hoy! Kayong dalawa! Akala ko ba may LQ na nagaganap? Bakit magkasama kayo? Bakit hindi kayo nagpaalam? Bak—" Sigaw ni Samantha pagkapasok namin sa kwarto.

"N-Namasyal?" Sagot ko pero sagot ba yon?

"Saan?" Dagdag niya.

"Cape Town." Adam answered.

"Wow. Cape Town? Hindi nag-aaya ah. Ano ginawa niyo dun?"

Nagkatinginan kami ni Adam at pinipigilan namin matawa dahil naalala namin yung nangyari nung gabi. Pero hindi namin napigilan kaya natawa na kami ng tuluyan.

"Walang sing-sing. Pero oo, Ikakasal na kami." Ako ang sumagot.

"Umalis eh, Hindi nagpaalam."

We started planning about the site that we'll enter and we also fixed the surveillance cameras that were placed earlier at the site by the agents inside. We'll enter the surface at night to just see how we can enter from there.

"Oo naman. Ano ba gusto niyo? Ako na pipili para sa inyo."

Bumaba na ako para bumili ng kape para sa kanila. Habang naghihintay ako sa order ko ay may tumawag sa telepono ko.

"Hello, Ma'am? Si Kiel po ito."

"Kiel? Napatawag ka, Madaling araw na dyan ah. Bakit?"

"Ma'am, Nahanap ko na po siya, Si Mr. Suarez. Nasa ibang bansa po siya ngayon, South Africa."

"What? Thank You, Kiel. Pumunta ka na lang sa opisina at sabihin mo na ikaw ang taong kinuha ko bilang assistant ko. You got your job back, Mr. Kiel Trinidad."

"They're here." Dinig kong sabi ng isang lalaki.

"Oh, Finally! You're here. Where is it?" Sabi ng isa pang lalaking naka-suit galing sa loob ng isa pang kwarto.

"Who's this beautiful young lady with you?" Tanong pa niya habang tinitignan ang mga armas na dala namin.

"I am Emma Linden, Mr. Phillip Linden's daughter."

"Wow! Good to see you. I am Mr. Hubert Suarez. Have a seat."

I knew it! I found him! I finally foumd him. I shall now make things right once we get the chance to get this man. First, I need evidences.

Umupo kaming lahat at binigyan ng isang baso ng inumin pero hindi ako uminom dahil baka may kung anong nilagay sila dito.

I drove back to the hotel alone. Tinanggal ko ang jacket ko at lumabas na ng sasakyan.

"Serenity! Bakit ka umalis? Alam mo bang pwede kang mapahamak dahil sa ginawa mo?" Agad na bungad sa akin nang makapasok ako sa kwarto namin.

"Oo na. I'm sorry."

Hinatak ako ni Adam papunta sa kwarto nila at doon kinausap.

"Ang tigas ng ulo mo. Hindi ka ba marunong makinig? Alam mo ba na pwede ka nilang patayin kahit anong oras sa kahit na anong paraan?"

"Kaya nga ako nag sorry diba? Tsaka wala namang nangyari sa akin at umuwi ako ng buo."

"Hindi lang yun ang issue dito. So ano? Hihintayin pa natin na may mangyari sayo bago ka matuto?"

"No, Hindi mo kasi maiintindihan."

"Edi ipaintindi mo sa akin. What are you hiding, Serena?"

I walked out of the room, rode the elevator, and ran away. Nakarating ako sa labas sa garden ng hotel.

I sat on the bench thinking. I suddenly saw drops of clear water on my leg and realized that it came from my eyes. I just didn't think that I would explode that bad, that I shouted at the man I will marry, and that i'll let out what i've been hiding that second. I was just outside for an hour, alone.

"Hey." I heard a sound from my right.

"Beer?" He offered with his hands.

I took it and opened the can. I drank and felt how cold it was when it passed through my lungs.

"Sorry." He said.

"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. It's me."

"Alam mo pwede mo naman ilabas yan eh. You just need someone to talk to and just slowly explode without hurting someone even yourself."

"Thank You. I wanted to give something to the three of you but I wasn't able because you scolded me."

I handed my phone and opened the audio file I recorded. I let him hear what I heard earlier.

"Y-You recorded everything?"

"I did. There are two rooms inside the site, The first one we entered is where they hide all the paraphernalia and the next one is the children. They really are using children to distribute drugs."

He replied with a kiss on my forehead then on my lips. This is the only man who kissed me and the man that i'll give my love to.

No amount of words can describe how much I love this man with me. Eventually, While I was trying to look for myself, He is the one I found. I was lost but now I'm found.

But, because of that audio file I recorded. My life is now at risk. I'm in danger.
