The World Of Demons And Gods

Chapter 63 - ‡※‡Dipping My Finger On Their Sauce‡※‡

"So it's the night gang, I heard your group of people are very infamous within this region. Known for dealing with malicious deeds." Krystal cold voice crept towards the scout's ears which frightened him.

"E-eek! Please don't kill me!" The scout wailed as he begs for mercy.

But what he had heard was a cold laugh instead, "You? How come such a disgusting rat have the right live on this world huh? Tell me." Her eerie voice has caused the scout to stop breathing because he knew that the terrifying lady in front of him is already pointing killing intent towards him!

"See, you can't answer. Deep inside you know what you're doing and because you know it, you shouldn't beg for mercy when those people who have suffered in the hands of your people have you given them any mercy? How funny to think that your face is full of callus and ask me to show you some mercy. Who the f*ck do you think you are!?" Krystal voice was full of anger and punched the man right on his solar plexus hard making him to spat a mouthful of blood on the ground.

For Cyrus, who's watching on the sideline hadn't shown much reactions towards Krystal's beating the scout to dog's death. He had already seen this side of her when those people decided to rob her right on her face, although she was the victim on that event, she hadn't shown much anger like what's happening right now.

When she was the victim, she was only playing their lives and didn't show much anger. But now, when innocent people are the victim of those malicious people, she was serious at beating people and was showing real anger.

'She's really has a good sense of justice, I guess that's why people fawn and fear her the most… But I hope this won't lead you to your fall instead...' Cyrus deeply thought to himself.

Having an upright and righteous personality isn't bad, however having a powerful sense of justice have a big flaw on it, that it can make people that have that trait fall because of it. A big flaw that can be ignored by those people who have that trait but when faced with the reality of that big flaw, it might crumble their foundation as a person, thus falling to its demise.

It's naïve to think that serving justice for people would do good for the society, but in reality, that so-called 'justice' actually also creates hatred, this hatred was born to those people who are close to the person who had been served by 'justice', and these people will also serve justice for that person who had been served by different 'justice' and this would harm the society even more, that society is the one that person who has the sense of justice trying to protect. That concept had a very big hole in the center that people always tend to forget or not even realize it, making it for the people who had realized this concept of justice is a big joke.

To remove that problem, it's simple, the person who will serve justice should remove its roots! That's right, remove those people who are very close to that person who will be served by justice! But do you think those righteous and upright people who serve justice can do that? They can't.

They can't harm innocent people because to their eyes, those people who are close to the person who they have served justice are innocents and would learn a right-thinking that the one that they have been closed to or loved are causing harm to many people. But sadly, demi-humans are not different from humans as extreme emotions always come first before logical thoughts hit them, which mostly comes late.

Cyrus had realized this thanks to his mother and father who had given him a lesson back at Annesly kingdom. Because, he too, wants to destroy the evil back then, but his parents made him realize that his goal was very naïve and childish. They made him realize the burden they have always been carrying as renowned and feared slayers. Their lives have always been in danger because people also hunt for them which naturally implicates him and his sister.

He and his family can't live a completely peaceful life because of that burden, a burden that cannot be removed.

That's why he was finding his own goal that would serve him for the rest of his life as a cultivator that can live for thousands of years.

"What's the purpose of sending these people to their own death?" Krystal asked with a cold voice.

The scout was already so weak that if Adrian released him, he would literally plop down like a dead body, he could not even lift his head anymore to look at the monster in front of him. He hardly opened his mouth and spoke with a coarse voice, "W-we plan… to eradicate… the powerful guilds… and make… an organization… in the guise of… guild."

"What!?" Adrian roared in anger because he was a sky slayer rank and the scout he was holding was measly a warrior rank, he unconsciously gripped both of his hand, which is apparently holding both shoulders of the man.

*Crack!*

"AAAH!" The man screamed in pain, as tears already flowing from his purple cheeks.

Adrian was startled and when he was about to release the man from his clutches, Krystal's voice rang out, "Hold it!" In which made Adrian continue holding the crying scout.

Everyone had completely heard the reason why they have been sent to this place and not only made them flabbergasted, it made them want to rip out the throats of those night gang.

Krystal turned quiet and while her arms were crossed, "To think that these criminals want to create an organization in guise of being a guild… This matter isn't light at all and would cause a lot of harm in the future." She muttered silently.

Krystal looked at the scout once again, "Where is the location of your headquarters?"

"…" The man hesitated for a while before giving up completely, thinking that if he gave all those information and made them satisfied, he would be still left alive, even if he loses one or two limbs, that's fine as long he lives, nothing matters. "U-underground… sewers…"

Krystal nodded, and because there's nothing to ask anymore, she turned around and gripping Cyrus' clothes, she dragged him away. But before she could enter the forest, she looked at Adrian and gave him a hint before entering the forest with Cyrus in tow.

When Cyrus and Krystal arrived at the forest, the two of them heard those mercenaries beating the scout to death as angry roars filled the quiet forest.

Cyrus and Krystal walked for a bit away from mercenaries before stopping. Cyrus looked at Krystal and waited for her to say something. Krystal has her appearance back to normal as she was not angry anymore, but her gaze was still serious and sharp.

"I think we need to separate our paths here from now." She said without hurry, but her voice had a tinge of helplessness.

"Why?" Although he knew why he still asked.

Krystal looked at Cyrus for a while before scratching her head, then turned around as she explained, "I have to dip my finger on their matters because this is already a serious crime that cannot be neglected, people would be in danger if I let them, and that group of mercenary wouldn't be able to do anything in that matters because once the guilds have heard this matters, serious punishment can harm those guys, while the other two guilds have their powerful assets wiped out, they won't let go of this matters and might cause guild wars which would implicate this matters very badly."

"That is true… But do you really have to?" Taking this chance to know about her, he asked.

"…" Krystal glanced at Cyrus shortly before nodding her head, "I have to, this is my job as the young mistress of Éclair clan… Our clan is born with noble prestige that's no different than those imperial families, We can even take over this kingdom with ease but because we have eccentric traits it would be bad for the people if we establish a kingdom of our own… That's why our ancestors decided that no matter who is the ruler of the land that envelopes our clan's lands, our job is to be a protector of that country. That's why it's my job to protect the people of this country, despite the burden and hatreds I've created weighing my shoulders down, I have to." She faintly explained.

Cyrus was stunned to hear this and couldn't help to stare at the lone beautiful figure of the lady next to him. Now that he knew more about her, his eyes were starting to see that cold lone figure which pricked his heart.

'So, she was aware of that…'

"That's why I want you to go first at the enrollment field because I must deal with this first before I can go there, and don't worry I'll find you there if by chance I'm not late." Krystal laughed as she smiled at Cyrus.

Her laugh was awkward.

Her smile was forced.

Even if she was resolute on her decision, she wasn't aware that she was unconsciously telling him not to part away.

Although Cyrus didn't know why he already feels like she's attached to him and didn't know why she was unconsciously sending signals to him that he shouldn't go that contradicts her words, he didn't know.

He was fine on going first but now that he had seen her side, on why she had a strong sense of justice, and understand her background a bit more. His view of her had changed completely, and he knew that having her as his friend is worth more than he could imagine, she's the type of person he who would like to protect and care willingly. Not only that, although they have just met for one day, but their interactions also weren't that bad.

"Do you want some help?" Cyrus smiled softly.

Her heart fluttered when she saw that impeccable smile on his handsome face, her ears had a tint of redness on it before turning her head to the side, "T-that would be nice."

Seeing her being shy like this, Cyrus laughed which startled her making her even more bashful. "Alright, as your friend, I would be helping you even if you don't agree to it." He turned around and left because she already looked uncomfortable because of him, so by making himself leave, she might be more relieved.

Looking at Cyrus fleeting figure, Krystal stared with a surprised look on her face, she touched her c.h.e.s.t with her hand and felt her fluttering heart. She hasn't felt this before, it felt like there are butterflies on her stomach and it feels so warm and comfortable.

"Is this feeling natural? He was the first one to made me feel this way… Maybe because he was my very first friend…" She smiled softly.

If Cyrus could already make her warm and happy like this, then him being her only friend is already enough. She's already satisfied with this warmth…
