Chapter 24: Lowest Score in History of Yizhong High School

At this moment, a disdainful voice sounded, "Hey."

Gu Qingning followed the sound and looked up, seeing two young faces full of immaturity.

Unlike the purple and white uniforms of the first-year students, the two boys were wearing black and white uniforms.

They were senior students from Yizhong High School.

"You, get up quickly," one of the boys spoke again, exuding an air of arrogance.

Gu Qingning squinted her eyes, her voice neither light nor heavy, devoid of any emotions, "Are you talking to me?"

"Of course, who else would I be talking to? Do I look like I'm talking to the air?" The boy's temper flared up easily, becoming impatient after just a few words.

"Stop pretending to be clueless and get up quickly."

Gu Qingning raised an eyebrow, "Are you trying to be a robber in broad daylight?"

"Are you calling us robbers?" The boy became angry, glaring at her with raised eyebrows. "Say that again if you dare."

Gu Qingning bit her straw and calmly questioned, "You want to take my seat, so what does that make you if not robbers?"

"This seat is where our Brother Dong sits every day. If you don't want to get beaten up, get up now," another boy who accompanied them spoke with a nasty tone.

Gu Qingning chuckled, thinking these brats were quite arrogant.

"Did you write your names on this seat, or did you buy it?" she asked indifferently.

"I..." The boy choked on his words, threatening, "Stop the nonsense. If you don't give up your seat, get ready to get beaten up."

Gu Qingning crossed her right leg over her left, her voice slightly chilly, "Then why don't you try to beat me up?"

The boy was left speechless, turning to the other boy, "Brother Dong?"

The commotion attracted many curious gazes. Yao Dong's face turned dark, feeling a lump in his throat, frustrated.

He noticed an opportunity when an elderly woman boarded the bus. He handed his backpack to his companion and walked over to support the old lady.

"Granny, please have a seat over here. This super kind young lady said she would give up her seat for you," Yao Dong said, calculating his moves.

Gu Qingning raised an eyebrow, realizing she was being manipulated.

"Miss, could you please stand up?" Yao Dong looked at Gu Qingning, a satisfied smile on his face.

He wouldn't have a seat, and she wouldn't be able to sit either.

With so many people watching, he didn't believe she wouldn't give up her seat obediently.

"Making way was your suggestion, not mine, and I never agreed to it," Gu Qingning said calmly.

Yao Dong was surprised by her unexpected response.

"Young girl, don't you know anything about respecting the elderly?" The old lady glared at Gu Qingning, showing her displeasure.

"I'm already this old, so what's wrong with giving up my seat?" Gu Qingning retorted sarcastically. "If you know you're this old, why don't you act a little more childish?"

"You..." The old lady's chubby fingers pointed at Gu Qingning, her face turning red with anger.

"You little girl, so young yet so disrespectful, you don't have any manners."

"Do you know any manners?" Gu Qingning sneered, her voice chilling. "Don't try to morally pressure me. I won't tolerate it."

"You..." The old lady furrowed her brow, her dark face scrunching up with a hint of sharpness.

Her eyes glinted with calculated cunning, and her expression suddenly changed. She clutched her chest and wailed loudly, "This young girl bullied a poor old woman! Everyone, come and see!"

She bent her body, feigning weakness. "I feel dizzy and can't catch my breath..."

More and more people gathered, pointing and whispering among themselves.

"The world has really changed. Young people these days don't know how to respect the elderly."

"Young people nowadays can't be compared to the past."

"Even someone as old as her grandmother could be her grandmother, and she won't give up her seat. What a shame."

Whispers filled the air as Yao Dong's mouth curled into a wicked smile.

With a crowd of people surrounding them, Gu Qingning's eyes turned cold. "Have you all said enough?"

"Is it fun to morally pressure others?" She stood up, the warm sunlight shining through the window, outlining the smooth lines of her profile.

"Just because I'm young, does that mean I'm not qualified to sit? Giving up a seat is a favor, not giving it up is my right. Do you really think you're a saint, standing on a moral high ground, babbling endlessly?"

She sneered mockingly, "I'm not a good person. I love to resort to violence at the slightest provocation, so don't try to get noticed by me."

Before her words could settle, a middle-aged man inside the bus couldn't contain his anger any longer. He raised his hand, intending to grab her, "You little girl, you're so arrogant. Today, I'll teach you a lesson on behalf of your parents."

However...

His hand grabbed nothing but air, and his wrist was caught instead.

Before he could react, a surge of pain attacked his wrist, as if his bones were being broken.

"Ah!" A pig-like scream reverberated in the carriage, terrifying everyone. The way they looked at Gu Qingning suddenly changed.

Unexpectedly, this little girl turned out to be tough.

They had kicked a steel plate this time.

Two fingers gripped the man's wrist, seemingly with moderate force, but only the man knew how much strength she used.

"It hurts, it hurts," he winced in pain. He changed his tune, "You shouldn't have given up your seat."

"Shouldn't have? Shouldn't have," the man cried out in pain. "Seats are first come, first served. We shouldn't have forced you to give it up. We were wrong. Please let me go."

Gu Qingning sneered and let go of his hand. "Anyone else wants me to give up my seat? Please come forward and talk to me."

As soon as these words were spoken, the crowd dispersed in a commotion.

Whether she gave up her seat or not had nothing to do with them. They didn't want to invite trouble upon themselves.

Gu Qingning looked down at the elderly woman sitting on the ground, her tone softened, "Do you still want me to give up my seat?"

Having witnessed Gu Qingning's capabilities, the elderly woman immediately became timid. She hurriedly got up and hastily got off the bus.

Watching her easily resolve the deadlock with a few words, Yao Dong clenched his fists, his expression embarrassed.

Suddenly, a chilling gaze shot towards him. "Do you find this play entertaining?"

Yao Dong lowered his head and unexpectedly met the cold ink-black pupils of the girl. Without the backpack obscuring her face, he finally got a clear look at her appearance.

Her exquisite features were flawless, with an intriguing brow bone. The anger in his eyes was replaced by astonishment, and he stood there in a daze for a moment.

A surprised voice sounded beside him, and the boy standing next to Yao Dong recognized her first. "You're Gu Qingning?"

Gu Qingning raised an eyebrow. Was she so famous at school?

Yao Dong snapped back to reality and turned to the boy beside him. "Do you know her?"

"Dong Ge, she's the transfer student who just arrived not long ago. She's only good-looking, but she's useless in every other aspect. I heard she's even mute," the boy blurted out without realizing that the person in question was still there.

"She's also the lowest-scoring student in the entire freshman class. She achieved the lowest score in the history of Yizhong High School."

As the words left his mouth, he suddenly realized and looked at Gu Qingning with a frightened expression, then hid behind Yao Dong.
