Chapter 22: Whoever Wants to Do It, Do It (Seeking Collections)

Gu Qingning glanced out of the corner of her eye, uninterested, and turned her gaze back to her game.

The owner of the internet cafe was a middle-aged man, robust in stature, with a smiling expression that made him seem amiable.

He quickly walked over and stood in front of the group of thugs who had barged in.

His gaze fell on the leader of the thugs, a man wearing a floral shirt, torn jeans, and a rock-and-roll hairstyle. He had a sleazy and ruffian-like appearance.

The owner wasn't afraid either and approached with a smile, "Brother, I'm running a small business here, and there are still many customers. If there's anything, how about we talk aside?"

"We're looking for someone. Once we find them, we'll leave," the man replied impatiently.

"Find them for me."

"Yes."

The thugs behind him dispersed and forcefully lifted chairs, creating a noisy commotion. They even searched under each table, causing the customers to flee in fear.

Watching the spectacle wasn't worth risking their lives. These people clearly looked like ruffians and hooligans, and no one wanted to get involved.

The owner was both angry and helpless seeing his business disrupted. He sighed and turned his head, noticing someone still sitting in the corner. He looked surprised.

Are young people nowadays so courageous?

A slight sound came from the table next to her. Gu Qingning lowered her head and glanced sideways.

In the dim light, the man appeared to be around thirty years old, with crusted scars on his face and bloodstains on his mouth and arms.

Their eyes met, and the man's pale face shook as he gestured for her to remain silent.

Gu Qingning tilted her head, subtly shifting her gaze away.

"Thud, thud, thud—"

A row of chairs crashed to the ground, creating a commotion.

"Hey, get up, don't get in the way here."

A strong smell of tobacco and alcohol wafted over from the side. Gu Qingning narrowed her eyes with a hint of impatience. "Get lost."

The man with dyed hair suddenly lost his temper, throwing away the cigarette in his hand and cursing, as if he was about to make a move.

"Dare to tell me to get lost? You little brat must be tired of living. Today, your uncle will teach you a lesson on how to behave..."

Before he could finish speaking, a keyboard came crashing down on his head.

Fast and fierce.

The noisy surroundings suddenly fell silent, creating an eerie atmosphere.

The man with dyed hair steadied himself, clutching his dizzy head, and stared at the tall and thin figure with a fierce gaze.

Wearing multiple layers of hats that covered most of his face, a loose black casual outfit cleverly concealed her figure.

At first glance, anyone unaware would think she was a young man.

"You little brat, today I'll make sure you enter here standing and leave horizontally." He grabbed a chair and rushed at her as if possessed.

Gu Qingning didn't dodge or evade. Even the owner standing beside her sweated nervously for her.

Just when everyone thought Gu Qingning was doomed, the situation took a miraculous turn.

Just as the chair was about to strike, Gu Qingning spun around and grabbed the keyboard, smashing it onto the back of the man with dyed hair.

"Bang—"

The force was overwhelming, causing everyone's hearts to tremble.

"..."

The man with dyed hair spewed a mouthful of blood and staggered to the ground.

Unfortunately, from his angle, he happened to see the man hiding under the table.

He gritted his teeth and yelled, "Boss Hai, the person is here."

The scar-faced man's heart sank, catching a glimpse of the tall and thin figure, and he crawled and ran towards her.

The man known as "Boss Hai" was the one wearing the floral shirt.

Seeing the scar-faced man appear, his eyes turned sinister, "Capture him."

Gu Qingning looked at the man kneeling beside her indifferently and stepped away calmly.

She wasn't a saint, nor was she a do-gooder. Let someone else step in to help in this situation.

The scar-faced man hesitated for a moment, then pleaded in a low voice, "Please save me, I will definitely repay you in the future."

Gu Qingning looked down at him with indifference, her eyes cold, "I'm not in the mood. Find someone else to repay."

The scar-faced man froze, a hint of despair flashing through his eyes.

Was he really going to die here today?

No, he refused to accept it.

He raised his head and pleaded once again, "Please save me once, and I will serve you in the future. My life will be yours."

The hooligans rushed over and surrounded the two of them.

Boss Hai approached from behind, his eyes fierce, "Neither of you are getting away today."

Looking at the scar-faced man, Boss Hai's gaze suddenly turned cold, "Are you two in cahoots?"

"No." Gu Qingning's voice was cold, "Step aside, it's your fight. I won't get involved."

Boss Hai sneered, "You hurt my brother. Do you think you can just walk away?"

"Huh."

Gu Qingning's hands were in her pockets, a hint of chill in her eyes.

"Do you want to end up like your brother?"

"Boss Hai, stop wasting time with this brat. Catch him and take him back for punishment." The man with dyed hair climbed up from the ground and limped over, supporting his injured waist.

Gu Qingning ignored him, her voice low and hoarse, "One last chance, let him go or not?"

Boss Hai sneered, taking a step back, "Get them both, dead or alive."

Before his words even fell, the thugs with knives and sticks rushed forward.

"Damn it."

Gu Qingning cursed softly, annoyed that even her gaming experience couldn't be enjoyable.

As the knives and sticks approached, she spun around, sweeping her long legs, sending three of them flying with a kick.

Her slender hand glided across the ground, and with a flick of her wrist, she had a dagger as pliable as mud in her hand.

Without any intention to fight, she made a beeline for the man in the floral shirt.

Capture the leader first.

A chilling aura enveloped the surroundings. Boss Hai felt a sense of danger but was a step too slow. He felt a dull pain in his neck and froze.

The situation reversed once again, leaving everyone dumbfounded.

How did "he" get past them?

Gu Qingning held the dagger against his neck, her voice warm and low, "This dagger isn't considerate. If you make any rash moves, the person who came in vertically will probably leave horizontally."

Having experienced countless scenes like this, Boss Hai quickly calmed down.

He glanced at the "young man" holding him captive and gritted his teeth, "Who are you?"

Gu Qingning curled her lips and slowly enunciated, "If you're not smart, I'll be the person who will take your life. Understand?"

With her words, her wrist slightly moved, pressing the dagger closer to his neck.

A shallow trace of blood appeared, and tiny droplets of blood emerged.

Boss Hai winced in pain, furrowing his brow, and exhaled deeply.

In the next moment, he opened his eyes and looked at his subordinates, "Step aside, let him go."

Gu Qingning glanced at the scar-faced man who had been captured, "And him?"

"Impossible." Boss Hai immediately replied, "You just said you're not with him. I'll let you go, but he must stay."

Not bothering to waste words, Gu Qingning's hand with the dagger moved slightly, "Release him or not?"

She didn't lend a hand for nothing. She had fought for them, and if there was no reward, she would feel sorry for herself.
