The Rise Of True Magic

Chapter 4 - Talent Summoning

Roland tasked Barov to collect information about the overall situation of Border Town. The Information overall collected was depressing as the territory has no trade revenue or annual taxes. But what really got Roland attention was the Month of Demons, witches and Magic.

Every winter, after the first snow fell and the sun had disappeared behind the mountains, an intense darkness would descend upon the world. At that time, the gates of hell would open and release demons into the world.

The evil spirits would corrupt living creatures and turn them into the slaves of the devil. Some of these animals would change into powerful demonic beasts that would attack humans.

Witches had the ability to use Magic therefore they were considered the servants of the devil and hunted by the church. Truly the people of these world live in a dark age as they totally fear what they do not understand.

"The servants of the Devil?" Roland scoffed to himself. "The people here don't see the nature of this power, which could even change the laws of the universe."

Changing the views of these ignorant people will be very challenging as they have been brainwashed to hate witches and Magic by the church.

The Border Town primarily exported products from hunting and mining, and mainly imported food. Everything was transported directly along the Redwater River to Longsong Stronghold or Willow town.

The mining exports included all kinds of minerals, such as iron, copper, sulfur, crystal, ruby, and sapphire, etc.

The fur trade was how the local people made their living. They ventured into the Misty Forest to the west and hunted birds and other animals. They then sold the animals to the acquirers of Longsong Stronghold or to the residents of Willow Town. No transactions took place in the Border Town and so no taxes were collected.

The Good News was that the month of demons was far away, and he had plenty of time to develop his territory.

Roland dismissed Barov and summoned Allen to his Office.

Roland smiled and asked, "Are you settling in well?"

"Of course, it is better here than where we used to live!" Allen replied respectfully.

"I heard that you were the former head of your village." Roland asked as a blue screen opened revealing his attributes.

"Yes, Sir. But in the end, I failed to live up to their expectations." Allen replied sorrowfully, "When the bandits attacked our village we were totally helpless as we had no means to counterattack. I could only lead them to flee from the village. Many were abandoned they could not keep pace thus they were killed by the riders that chased after us as we fled for our lives."

""It's okay, the deceased are gone. We need to move forward." Roland replied not knowing how to comfort people who have suffered so much so he changed the subject.

"The town needs a lot of materials for the construction of the town, so I need someone capable to recruit people to gather these essential supplies and carry out the construction according to my instruction." Roland said while handing Allen a list of the materials.

"Be relieved your highness, I carry out these tasks to the best of my ability." Allen reassured.

"I Glad to hear that. Barov will provide the necessary funds" Roland said as Allen left to carry out his tasks.

"Strange a screen popped out of the blue showing Allens Traits while no such thing happened in Barovs case." Roland mussed to himself.

"System Summon Talent."

A white light flashed, and a middle-aged as a man covered in full body armor appeared in the room.

"The middle-aged officer, upon seeing Roland, immediately fell to one knee, solemnly declaring, "It is my honor to serve my lord!"

Roland stood up stunt at the man's abrupt arrival before pulling the man to his feet as the blue screen with his stats popped up again.

"Your Arrival has eased a lot of my worries. Now I breathe a sigh of relieve."

Roland was very happy to get such a fierce guard due to his weak level and no one to confide in left him helpless. With such a defender, he had no worries about being bullied as he carried out his plans.

"I will have to trouble you to stay out of sight and defend me from the shadows as the I have just taken charge of this territory therefore the people have no loyalty towards me even my aids loyalty is in question."

"Lord can feel relieved as long as I breathe no harm shall befall the lord." Arnadus spoke as entered the second dimension before standing at his lord side as his shield.

With a Great burden lifted of his shoulder Roland began making plans for the territories construction. Due to the month of demon's wooden houses are out of the question therefore the people need to be taught how to make a house of cement and bricks. Opening the System store he bought the blueprints for a Basic Brick Factory and Basic Brick kilin.

In Roland's plan, the logging field was to be built in the west side of the territory, as well as subsequent quarries along with the extension of the mine. Therefore, the west side's role would be regulating the import and export of resources.

Similarly, the subsequent docks and shipyards would be built on the side of the Redwater river.

At the southernmost area will be used to build the Lord's Manor. In front of the Lord's House was an open area, reserved for use as the Town Square. To the north would be a street of commercial buildings. All shops, inns, training halls and other buildings will be distributed to the commercial street's two sides.

West of there would be a residential area. The southwest area would be residences for the agricultural workers, such as farmers and lumberjacks. The northwest area would be arranged for industrial workers, such as the factories, tailors, businessmen, and other craftsmen. Northwest of the northern area will be occupied by the Beginner Market.

The Eastern District would be a military zone, science, and educational training area. The southeast area would be zoned for science and education, with the private school, hospital will be located there. The church will not be built for obvious reasons. The northeast area would be the military zone, with weapon repair workshops, strategic granaries, and the upcoming barracks all to be located there.

"Everything was now in place all that remains is the materials and man power. I hope Allen will not disappoint me."
